Black Halo Security: Origins in the Shadows
Foundation: 2920–2935 — “The Dead Convoy Incident”
Black Halo Security was born from tragedy.
In 2920, a civilian convoy contracted to transport industrial materials between Oberon II and Vega was ambushed by outlaws from the Pyro system. The escort wing, composed of underpaid freelancers, fled the scene. Only one pilot — Callan Myre, a retired Marine — remained to defend the convoy. By the time reinforcements arrived, every hauler was destroyed, and Myre’s ship was a drifting wreck.
When questioned, Myre said only:
“If I had men I could trust, none of them would’ve died.”
Fifteen years later, he founded Black Halo Security, naming it after the halo that formed around Vega’s sun the day of the attack — a symbol of remembrance for those lost and of his vow: no one gets left behind again.
Rise to Notoriety: 2940–2950 — “The Hauler’s Shield”
During the economic expansion following the Vanduul incursions, the UEE’s focus on military logistics left civilian shipping routes underprotected. Black Halo stepped into that void.
Operating primarily in Corel and Nyx, they became infamous for running escort contracts through zones other companies wouldn’t touch. Crews joked that if you saw a black halo painted on a ship, you were safe — or someone was about to pay a high price to make you safe.
Their most famous operation, The Red Drift, saw three Corsairs, an Idris-P, and a fleet of freelancers hold off a pirate armada in the Bremen system for nine hours, buying enough time for a dozen haulers to escape. The footage became viral across the spectrum, cementing their reputation as the hauler’s shield.
Modern Era: 2950–2955 — “The Black Charter”
By 2950, Black Halo Security had evolved into a multi-division outfit:
Halo Guard: Escort and interdiction wing.
Halo Freight: Corporate cargo and logistics.
Halo Vanguard: Ground operations and facility defense.
The Inner Circle: Command and intelligence.
They formalized their code in the Black Charter, a doctrine combining UEE tactical discipline with independent contractor pragmatism. It reads:
“We are not soldiers. We are guardians of what others depend on.
We fight not for conquest, but for continuity.”
Current Operations: 2955–Present — “The Halo Burns Bright”
Now active across Stanton, Pyro, and Nyx, Black Halo Security remains an independent contractor group respected — and feared — by smugglers, pirates, and corporate haulers alike.
Their reputation is clear: they don’t abandon contracts, they don’t lose cargo, and they don’t forgive betrayal. The skull-and-halo insignia is both a promise and a warning — salvation for clients, damnation for enemies.
When asked why they still fly under the same motto after decades, their captains reply:
“Because in the void, there’s only one light we trust — our own.”
I. The Oath
We are not born of empires.
We are forged from failure, tempered in loss, and sharpened by duty.
When others fled, we stayed. When others forgot, we remembered.
The halo above the skull is not a symbol of holiness — it is a mark of remembrance.
It reminds us that every life we guard, every haul we protect, and every system we cross carries the weight of those who didn’t make it home.
We are Black Halo Security, and we do not abandon what we’ve sworn to defend.
II. The Creed
We are the shield between the convoy and the chaos.
We do not run. We do not yield.
Our ships burn bright because others depend on that light.
We are the escort, the carrier, the watchtower in the storm.
We move through fire so others can reach safe skies.
Every crate delivered, every hauler guided, every crew brought home — that is our victory.
III. The Discipline
We do not fight for glory. We fight for continuity.
The verse is filled with loud men and empty promises — we are neither.
We train. We prepare. We move with precision.
We do not waste lives, fuel, or faith.
The Halo is our discipline — a ring of unity no fracture can break.
IV. The Code
No cargo lost. No man left behind.
Honor the contract, protect the crew.
Hold the line, even when it burns.
Loyalty is currency. Betrayal is debt.
Our actions define us, not our words. We carry the weight because others can’t.
V. The Flame
Our colors are black for resolve, gold for duty, and red for the lives paid in service.
Our ships bear the Halo not as decoration, but as a warning — we will see this through.
We remember the old promise:
“If I had men I could trust, none of them would’ve died.”
Now we have them.
And as long as the Halo flies, none of us will fall alone.
“Within the Halo, none are lost.”
Black Halo Security — Escorts. Transport. Ground.
Guardians of the lifeline.
The Black Halo Charter
“Discipline in the void, loyalty in the fire.”
Article I: Conduct and Respect
1.1 — No Discrimination.
Black Halo Security operates under a strict zero-tolerance policy.
Racism, sexism, homophobia, political or religious hate speech, and harassment of any kind are grounds for immediate dismissal.
1.2 — Professionalism.
All members are expected to represent the organization with integrity, whether in Spectrum, in-game, or in any public forum. We are not pirates, griefers, or agitators — we are professionals under contract.
1.3 — No Politics or Personal Drama.
The Halo is neutral. We don’t bend to outside factions or internal disputes. Any attempt to drag politics, religion, or personal vendettas into the org’s operations will be met with discipline.
1.4 — Respect the Chain.
Orders flow down, accountability flows up. Members are free to speak their mind — but once a decision is made, it stands.
Article II: Code of the Halo
2.1 — No Cargo Lost, No Man Left Behind.
Every shipment, every crewmate, every escort matters. Leaving a teammate behind is the only sin the Halo will not forgive.
2.2 — Honor the Contract.
A Black Halo promise is as binding as UEE law. We deliver what we say we will — or we die trying. Failure without cause is weakness. Betrayal is treason.
2.3 — Maintain Operational Secrecy.
Mission details, routes, and client data are classified. Leaking internal information or ship manifests will result in blacklisting across all Halo divisions.
2.4 — Fire Discipline.
No member fires without confirmation or cause. Reckless aggression is dishonor. Collateral damage in civilian zones is forbidden.
2.5 — Respect the Fallen.
Lost ships, lost lives, and fallen brothers are not forgotten. Their names will be recorded in the Hall of Halos, and no operation will start without remembering who made it possible.
Article III: Hierarchy and Divisions
3.1 — The Inner Circle.
Command structure of the Halo — responsible for contracts, diplomacy, and enforcement of the Charter. All major actions require Inner Circle sanction.
3.2 — Halo Guard.
Escort and combat division. Specialists in fleet defense, tactical interception, and convoy overwatch. Their creed: “We strike first, but never without cause.”
3.3 — Halo Freight.
Cargo and logistics branch. Responsible for transport, trade management, and industrial operations. Their creed: “The Verse runs because we move.”
3.4 — Halo Vanguard.
Ground and planetary security division. Handles surface operations, extraction, and infrastructure defense. Their creed: “We hold the line.”
3.5 — The Foundry.
Industrial, mining, and support personnel. The heart of Halo’s economy. Their creed: “We forge, so others can fight.”
Article IV: Discipline and Accountability
4.1 — The Black Code.
Members found in violation of the Charter face a three-tier review:
Warning: Education and correction.
Censure: Suspension of contracts and ranks.
Exile: Permanent removal and blacklisting.
4.2 — Treachery Clause.
Collaboration with pirates, smugglers, or corporate saboteurs against Halo interests constitutes treason. Such members are to be stripped of insignia and exiled without ceremony.
4.3 — Combat Conduct.
Friendly fire, griefing, or unprovoked aggression against allies will not be tolerated. Black Halo’s strength lies in control, not chaos.
4.4 — Loyalty and Merit.
Promotion is earned through service, reliability, and integrity. Titles mean nothing without discipline to match.
Article V: Legacy and Honor
5.1 — The Halo Oath.
All members recite the Oath before their first contract:
“I stand within the Halo. I guard the lifeline.
I will not break. I will not flee.
I will see the mission through — for those who can’t.”
5.2 — The Flame of Remembrance.
Once a year, during the Night of Ashes, the org honors its fallen with silence and light — every ship powers down and burns a single beacon in orbit.
5.3 — The Future.
Black Halo Security will not fade into bureaucracy or corruption.
We are the torchbearers of order in a lawless verse — a family forged in the vacuum.
Our code is not written in ink — it’s burned into the hulls of our ships.
“Within the Halo, none are lost.”
