The Black Sun exists for one reason: profit. Morality is negotiable. Risk is calculated. If the margin is right, the deal is done. In a volatile universe, we don’t chase ideals—we secure returns, build leverage, and turn opportunity into power.
The Black Sun began as a small group of contractors taking low-level jobs from major corporations to survive. Over time, the repetitive work and limited prospects pushed them to seek greater independence. They armed themselves, left corporate oversight behind, and began operating on their own terms—accepting contracts regardless of legality.
Recognizing that a small crew could not thrive alone in a dangerous universe, the founders built connections and formed alliances. Their network steadily expanded, and their numbers grew until the Black Sun formally established itself as an organized syndicate. Operating across multiple systems, the group built a reputation for discretion, efficiency, and results.
A major turning point came when the syndicate secured the backing of a member of Banu high society. In exchange for protecting shipments of illicit goods and providing safe passage to trusted associates, the Black Sun gained financial support and political cover. As part of this arrangement, the organization was granted a Banu Merchantman named The Mammon, after an ancient symbol of wealth from Old Earth mythology. The vessel became the syndicate’s flagship and a cornerstone of its expanding operations.
We do not entangle ourselves in political squabbles. The corporations and the rebellion can posture, legislate, and wage their ideological wars. We operate above their noise and beneath their notice.
Whether you are an ace pilot, a skilled engineer, former military, or an information broker, you understand a fundamental truth: the most efficient way to earn credits in the ’verse is not always legal. Efficiency matters. Results matter. Profit matters.
The Black Sun exists to secure opportunity wherever it is found. Sometimes that means honest commerce and hard negotiation. Sometimes it means leverage applied at the end of a barrel in the middle of a firefight. We do not discriminate between methods—only outcomes.
We value competence, discretion, and loyalty. Every member contributes. Every operation has a purpose. Every risk is measured against reward.
We answer to no government, no corporation, and no cause beyond our own prosperity. The only universal constant is value—and value is measured in credits.
All that matters is the profit.
I. Open Hand, Armed Resolve
The Black Sun recognizes no divisions of creed, origin, race, sex, allegiance, or past transgressions. We judge by capability and value alone. To those who approach in good faith, we extend one hand in peace and partnership. The other remains on our weapons—not out of hostility, but prudence.
Alignment is simple: you are either with us or against us. Those who stand with the Black Sun gain protection, opportunity, and access to our network. Those who move against us forfeit any expectation of mercy. No authority, no corporation, and no distant power in the ’verse will shield an enemy from consequence. Retaliation will be precise, patient, and profitable.
II. Nature of the Syndicate
The Black Sun is not bound by rigid law, but guided by principles forged through experience. We operate as a syndicate, but function as a family. Loyalty is not symbolic—it is structural. An attack on one is an attack on all.
Internal betrayal is the only unforgivable offense. Disputes are settled within. Grievances are addressed directly. We do not allow fractures to weaken what we have built.
III. Scope of Enterprise
We recognize no artificial limits on commerce. The syndicate conducts business in arms, narcotics, security, information, acquisition, enforcement, logistics, and elimination. We provide protection where it is purchased, and we remove obstacles where it is required.
We do not moralize markets. We evaluate margins.
If there is demand, we consider supply.
IV. Principles of Profit
The Black Sun does not rely on slogans or superstition. Our success is built on discipline, leverage, and calculated ambition. The following principles guide our enterprise:
Profit is not luck. It is the result of strategy, restraint, timing, and the will to act when advantage presents itself.
V. Conduct and Survival
Members are expected to maintain discipline, discretion, and operational readiness. Recklessness without return is waste. Brutality without purpose is inefficiency. Excess invites exposure; exposure invites interference.
We survive because we adapt. We prosper because we anticipate.
VI. Final Doctrine
The Black Sun does not seek chaos, nor does it fear it. We do not pledge loyalty to flags, causes, or moral crusades. Our allegiance is to prosperity and to one another.
Stand with us and share in the rewards.
Stand against us and become one.
