History

On 2949-04-06 the UEEN declared the entire complement of the battle group above Vega II lost with all hands. Among the names on that list:

UEE Pilot – LT Col CR
UEE Navigator – Major SC
UEE Chief Engineer Specialist Marshall
UEE Chief Gunnery Specialist Tauzzee
UEE Capt. Dr. Meg UEE Medical Corps

The UEE was wrong. While the Navy wrote its obituaries, the five survivors did something no after-action report ever accounted for:
They took the Perseus. UEEN Perseus (QRS-004), a brand-new, still-classified quantum-ram stealth gunship fresh from the Aegis skunkworks, had been attached to the battle group for operational trials. When the chain of command disintegrated in the final minutes above Vega II, the ship’s experimental drive was still spooling and its transponder was dark. CR put the five of them aboard, sealed the hatches, and vanished into the chaos. The Perseus punched a hole through the Vanduul blockade no one else saw coming and jumped blind toward the Perry Line.

Official UEE tracking lost the ship somewhere between Vega and Nyx.
For years the Perseus was a ghost ship with five living souls aboard and no registry. The crew and ship finally emerged out of the bleakness of space, now painted matte black dropped silently into Checkmate. It paid a year’s berthing fees up front in untraceable scrips and a Vanduul trophy blade still dripping coolant.

Thirteen days later Blackstar Ledger Enterprise opened its books. Everything the company has built since— no one truly knows. The only thing certain, is that of a scrubbed Perseus, and a reputation that makes other free-lancers flinch—started with one stolen prototype gunship and five people the UEE had already buried.

The Perseus still flies.
Registry scrubbed, silhouette altered, name painted over in flat black.
Crew still only five. Blackstar Ledger Enterprise

Out of a grave someone else dug.
Back to collect what we’re owed

Manifesto

We serve no banner but the black star.
Every job is a line in the Ledger.
Every life taken is an entry.
Payment is due on delivery.
Mercy is not interest-free.
Betrayal is the only unforgivable debt.
Collection is final.

We sell violence, discreet transit, and impossible rescues.
We are not rebels.
We are not heroes.
We are the balance that arrives when someone else’s math fails.
The Ledger is open.
Choose your line carefully. Blackstar Ledger Enterprise
Five survivors.
One rule:
The books always balance.

Charter

Corporate Charter
(Registered Orbituary OB-8814-BLE ∙ 2949-11-18 ∙ Never amended)

Article I – Name and Nature

The entity shall be known as Blackstar Ledger Enterprise (BLES). It is a private, unlimited-liability partnership of exactly five equal shareholders. No additional partners, shareholders, or voting members shall ever be admitted.

Article II – The Five

The permanent and sole owners are:

CR
SC
Tauzzee
Marshall
Meg

Death, incapacity, or voluntary retirement of a partner does not dissolve the Enterprise. The remaining partners unanimously select a successor from active crew. Until unanimity is reached, the deceased’s vote is considered abstained, never forfeited.

Article III – Decision Protocol

All strategic, contractual, and lethal decisions require three out of five living votes. Day-to-day operations may be delegated, but delegation can be revoked by any single partner without explanation.

Article IV – The Ledger

The Ledger is the sole governing document above this charter. It records every credit in, every credit out, every life taken, every debt owed to or by the Enterprise. The Ledger is maintained in triplicate (physical, quantum-encrypted, and cranial implant). Discrepancies are resolved by majority vote and blood if necessary.

Article V – Profit Division

All net revenue is divided strictly five ways after operational reserves (10%). No salaries, no bonuses, no golden parachutes. You eat what you kill, divided by five.

Article VI – Assets

All ships, stations, weapons, medical facilities, and intel acquired in the name of Blackstar Ledger Enterprise are communal property of the Five. Personal gear remains personal. Everything else belongs to the Ledger.

Article VII – Dissolution

The Enterprise dissolves only if fewer than three of the original Five remain alive and able to serve. Upon dissolution, all assets are to be scuttled, destroyed, or anonymously donated to refugee fleets. No credits or hardware will ever revert to the UEE or any successor government.

Article VIII – Amendment

This charter can only be amended by unanimous vote of all five living partners, recorded in the Ledger, signed in blood or ballistic residue. We didn’t survive Vega II to build another empire.
We survived to never again answer to one.

Signed in vacuum, witnessed by the black:
