Capability Meets Purpose.
Black Star was not built. It was forged.
Its origins trace back to Jumptown, a hidden drug lab buried in the Stanton system. It was a place few spoke of openly, but many fought to control. The narcotics produced there could be sold for immense profit, and as word spread, small skirmishes escalated into full-scale wars. Entire groups clashed relentlessly for control of its output, turning the area into one of the most volatile flashpoints in the system.
It was here that a small group of mercenaries, led by Leonus “ONIDREM” Loken, first proved themselves. Contracted to safeguard shipments during the height of the Jumptown Wars, they operated in an environment defined by constant threat, shifting alliances, and overwhelming pressure. Survival required more than firepower. It required discipline, coordination, and control.
What began as a contract became a turning point.
After a decisive operation that fractured their previous organisation, the group broke away. They transitioned to working alongside the Civilian Defence Force, redirecting their efforts toward the war against the Xenothreat fleet. This shift was not ideological. It was strategic. The inefficiencies of their former leadership had made one thing clear. It was time for change.
In January 2952, Black Star was formed.
Initially, it operated as a mercenary force, providing protection and support across a wide range of contracts. They built a reputation through consistent performance, standing against NineTails during the Siege of Orison, engaging Xenothreat fleets, and, when necessary, confronting the UEE Advocacy. Their approach remained the same. Controlled, precise, and reliable.
Over time, however, the organisation evolved.
Black Star recognised that reacting to opportunity was limiting. True strength came from control of resources, production, and movement. The transition was deliberate. Operations expanded beyond combat into extraction, logistics, and manufacturing. Instead of protecting assets, Black Star began to create and manage its own.
A system emerged.
One that allowed the organisation to operate independently, sustaining itself through its own capability rather than relying on external contracts. Combat did not disappear. It became a tool, applied to secure, expand, and protect Black Star’s interests.
Alongside this shift, Black Star extended its presence into competitive racing, participating in events such as XGR, Scarlet Apex, and the CRUX Cup. These activities were not separate from the organisation’s identity. They reflected the same emphasis on precision, performance, and control.
In October 2953, Black Star established a forward presence in the Pyro system at Jackson’s Swap on Monox. The settlement, frequently targeted by Xenothreat and other hostile groups, required stability. For two weeks, Black Star maintained control of the area, restoring order by mid-November. It was not simply a contract. It was a demonstration of capability.
Today, Black Star operates across multiple systems as a structured organisation built on Operations. It extracts, manufactures, and moves its own assets, maintaining control over the entire process.
What began in the chaos of Jumptown has become something far more refined.
Black Star no longer fights for opportunity, it creates it.
We, the members of Black Star, commit ourselves to the coordination of resources, the movement of assets, and the stability of the systems we operate within.
We recognise that space is a frontier, and with that frontier comes uncertainty. We do not rely on chance. We build, organise, and operate with purpose.
Black Star is a structured organisation defined by discipline, reliability, and capability. We maintain a standard that expects clear communication, mutual respect, and consistent performance. Every member contributes to a system designed to function efficiently and without unnecessary dependency.
Our strength comes from coordination. From individuals working together with clarity, trust, and shared intent. We do not wait for opportunity to present itself. We create it through preparation and execution.
We operate as a collective. No single individual defines the organisation. Progress is achieved through cooperation and consistency. Members of all backgrounds are welcome. Capability and conduct define standing within Black Star.
Force remains a tool within our system. When required, it is applied with precision to secure and protect our interests.
We are not defined by what we take.
We are defined by what we build.
We are Black Star.
