History
Broadside is a veteran gaming community that has competed successfully in many games over the last 5 years. We are a small organisation, operating chiefly in the AU/NZ time zone, with a strong PvP focus. Broadside has always had a small, tight-knit membership group and will continue down that path in Star Citizen with several excellent leaders and Fleet Commanders to offer training and support to newer members. Being a small unit, we have excelled in other games by having superior tactics and a guerilla warfare approach to combat as opposed to brute force and throwing numbers at a situation. Being outnumbered is a common occurrence for Broadside members, and we face down the odds and have a high efficiency for winning most engagements despite this. Being surrounded simply means you can fire in all directions.
We are a highly organised unit that prides itself in its strong teamwork and comradery where our main core focus is on having fun. Our member base ranges from casual gamers to the competitive and hardcore and cater for all, we understand this is a game and is meant to be fun, not a second job. Although Broadside will be looking to move in the direction of PvP we will have an interest in all aspects of the game and welcome members from every career path.

Manifesto

BROADSIDE specialises in small gang, guerilla warfare actions, but we also have a range of members engaged in other, non-pvp (e.g. economic and industrial), activities. We are not fans of ‘blobbing’ (i.e. swarming targets with massively superior numbers), we believe in winning through superior piloting, good teamwork, and fleet discipline.

Well developed skills are not a requirement to join BROADSIDE – but a willingness to learn and to participate are important. BROADSIDE aims to help all of its members develop and be the best they can be.
