No records agree on who first united them—some speak of a charismatic captain, others of a silent financier, and a few claim it was never one person at all. Whoever—or whatever—sparked it, the Den quickly grew into a respected network defined by independence, discretion, and an obsession with exceptional craftsmanship.

As humanity expanded outward, Buccaneer’s Den found its calling: producing rare, custom-built components and gear forged from exotic materials gathered in places most crews refused to go. Their work exceeded UEE standards so consistently that their products became whispered commodities in both legal and less-legal markets.

Everything changed after a deep-space salvage team recovered a mysterious alien fragment. Though the UEE would have seized it, the Den kept it hidden—and somehow managed to reverse-craft it. How they did so, and who authorized it, remains a matter of speculation inside the organization to this day.

From this event arose StrangeThink, the Den’s most secretive division. Formed by xenotechnologists, salvagers, and researchers who think beyond conventional science, StrangeThink’s mission is deceptively simple:

Their labs operate off-grid, and even Den members rarely meet those who run them. Rumors persist that StrangeThink answers directly to the organization’s true leader—if such a leader exists.
