History

The Founders

Carthage Industries began as nothing more than a dream shared by three orphans, Aldaren Bayde, Kain Mortanius, and Trig Jegman. Born with nothing, raised together in the same orphanage, yet destined for so much more…

Aldaren always was obsessed with technology, constantly repairing that which was broken in exchange for other parts and pieces to tinker with and learn from. In doing so, he became adept at trading and establishing connections. His talents recognized, Aldaren was given a chance to flourish by a business magnate that saw potential in him. Hired as nothing more than an intern, he absorbed every bit of knowledge he could in regards to the inner-workings of business and industry. This eventually lead to his rise in status and eventual takeover of his first successful company. The details of the acquisition are still sketchy. Some say it was a hostile takeover through cunning, while others believe that the company was a gift from the magnate that believed in him. Only Aldaren really knows, but he finds the constant speculation to be far more entertaining than revealing the truth.

Kain had a knack for picking fights, and winning them. It was no surprise that other kids of his age either joined his gang, or made sure to stay out of the way. Catching the attention of the UEE, he was conscripted at an early age to fight for a cause he could care less about. Ruthless yet efficient, Kain was sent on several missions during his military career, usually deemed as suicide (including [redacted]). Against all odds, he would succeed. Tired of taking orders, he fled mid-mission, taking several soldiers with him. Disappearing from known space, he later reappeared with his own fleet, offering security and bounty hunting services to anyone who was in need of them.

The most adventurous of the three “brothers”, Trig Jegman never took his gaze off of the stars. There was nothing he yearned for more than being able to traverse the deep reaches of space, discovering new worlds and seeing how far his ship could take him. Being an orphan made it easy for him to move around relatively unnoticed, but he honed the skill over time to far greater effect. Stealing a ship in his early teens, he left his home-world behind and never looked back. During his adventures, he was caught by a Banu patrol that was almost unable to detect him. Appreciative of his piloting and covert skills, they offered him a much better ship than the one he had previously stolen and offered to further teach him in the ways of stealth, at a price. For years Trig worked as a spy, gathering intel useful to the faction of Banu he was working for. That is until the day he was setup in an attempt to try and spark conflict between UEE and Banu forces. Betrayed and presumed dead during the altercation, Trig managed to escape into deep space. Word spread not long after of a human that offered his unique infiltration services, for the right price.

Using his extensive resources and contacts, Aldaren spared no expense to contact Kain and Trig to make a business proposition that neither could refuse. Upon arrival, terms were discussed and a deal was struck.

Known as the “Three Pillars” of Carthage Industries, it is split evenly between Aldaren, Kain, and Trig, leaving each to control their own area of expertise. This allowed the organization to grow and evolve into so much more than the conventional corporations people have become accustomed to.

Summary

Carthage Industries is a multifaceted organization that was established for the purpose of meeting the ever-growing needs of its clientele, while generating millions of new job opportunities for those who are interested in, or in need of employment. By providing various goods and services, management can properly select not only the right employee for the job, but also the position that an employee would feel most comfortable in. Through this process, a prosperous work environment is created, which in turn allows workers to be more efficient. Carthage Industries works within the legal boundaries established by the UEE, even when it comes to Security, Infiltration, and Bounty Hunting services. Employees are subjected to background checks and all client contracts are thoroughly investigated, as promptly as possible, before final acceptance. Goods and Services Offered:

Such goods and services offered include, but are not limited to…

  • Engineering: Devoted to research and production of household products and appliances, medical equipment, ship parts, weaponry, and more. Our goal is to increase the quality of life, as we strive to build a better tomorrow.
  • Resources: Mostly natural and mineral resources, but we also supply food, ammunition, and other goods required by other divisions and clientele to thrive.
  • Mining: Not only do we have our own talented team of miners, but we also offer our services to others who may not have the proper equipment to acquire the minerals and ore they need.
  • Consorts: In need of advice, someone to talk to, or a +1 to that next big event or social gathering? Our consorts accommodate the emotional needs of their clients. Each man and woman is known for their remarkable compassion. Any physical attempts or advances on our consorts will result in the client being blacklisted, with possible charges filed against them.
  • Bounty Hunting: We only take on contracts that involve bringing justice to ruthless pirates, corrupt politicians, and other forms of scum and villainy that are beyond the grasp of local law enforcement and government. We typically try to bring the targets back alive, but sometimes our hunters are left no other choice but to defend themselves with deadly force.
  • Security: Our expertly trained security personnel can ensure that you, or your cargo, can get from one point to another safe and sound. This service ranges from the average person to major corporations. Anyone with the funds, that isn't running from the law, is more than welcome to take advantage of this service.
  • Retrieval: Sensitive information or assets stolen that belong to you? We can assist in reclaiming what once was yours. Average turn-around time is within 36 hours.
  • Salvage: Sometimes things can get really ugly, really quick. Our salvage operations can rescue a ship, its cargo, and even its crew from falling into the wrong hands. The safe return is included as part of the salvage fee.
  • Exploration: We are constantly seeking out new planets, trade routes, and resources to further establish Carthage Industries throughout the universe. We do, however, share such discoveries with those we are affiliated with and explorers looking for adventure, for a price.
  • Infiltration: A quick and quiet way to prevent conflict and strife before it ever happens. Our operatives carry out missions to disrupt terrorist activities or dismantle a corrupt organization from the inside. They are not, however, trained assassins. Through extraction of intel and creating discord among the ranks, their mission is achieved. Contracts are only accepted when the right amount of evidence is provided, or gathered by our operatives, beforehand.
  • Scouting: Allow our personnel to survey a potentially dangerous area for you, and avoid any possible loses that otherwise would have occurred. Armed and capable of handling themselves, our scouts are able to provide information on a target location without taking any unnecessary risks.
  • Transport: Whether its cargo or people in need of transport, Carthage Industries understands not everyone has the means to do so. Travel is quick and our transport ships are usually accompanied by security personnel.

Incoming Transmission…

It’s funny how Aldaren and Carthage Industries likes to boast about how they don’t participate in illegal activities, yet there seem to be ties to some less-than-savory characters. Funds have been exchanged to pay an unknown supplier for goods even Carthage Industries normally couldn’t obtain (suggests that their “friend” is likely a pirate or smuggler). Based on the figure’s reputation and “eye-witness reports” from some of the low-lives in the area, the bastard goes by the name “Shade”. Real bad news this guy is. He has a history written in blood, taking out even some of the most elite bounty hunters sent after him.

That’s not all. That Trig guy, rumors are going around that his infiltration services are also offered to steal trade secrets for opposing organizations. Get this, he later offers the organization he’s stolen intel and data from the same service against the people who hired him in the first place! He’s playing them for fools and manipulating the market! Of course there is no real proof or paper-trail we can pin to him just yet, he’s good. He’ll slip up eventually…

Aldaren may be the most “honest” of the bunch, but his hands aren’t clean of all of this. We’re certain he’s involved, at least indirectly, of all of these activities. No amount of money will save him once he’s exposed.

Out of Character - We will have someone who is in charge of Piracy and Smuggling that is a part of the organization in-game, but not a part of the organization in regards to lore/role-play... or are they? dun dun DUUUUUN

Out of Character

Carthage Industries was created with the idea of bringing people together to experience just about everything that Star Citizen has to offer. That’s the reason we created an organization that offers EVERYTHING. Gamers of all kinds are welcome, regardless of whether you consider yourself to be a casual, regular, or hardcore player. Put as much time into this game and our organization as you see fit!

A lot of us enjoy role-playing and even plan on working on a video series based on our exploits. We don’t enforce it however, as we understand that it’s not for everyone. You are, however, more than welcome to give it a chance without fear of ridicule. We’re a bunch of mature (for the most part) gamers that wouldn’t insult someone for trying something new!

We plan on expanding as quickly as possible before launch, creating a fun community that everyone can be a part of. We don’t want anyone to feel like a cog in a large machine though. It’s all about enjoying ourselves with new people and good friends. We are also open to working with other organizations.

In the long-run we want to be able to compensate members for work that is done, whether it be credits, shiny new ship parts, or possibly something even better than that. This will require all of us to work together to make the organization as lucrative as possible. We’re not trying to make this your second job though, so you are not forced to do such work for the organization. The only thing we ask is that you don’t join this organization to drain us of resources and/or goods we have, just for the sake of gain and not being a part of the community. Also we will be checking for spies, for role-playing and game purposes.

Carthage Industries Rules and Regulations:

Illegal Activities:
Carthage Industries works well within UEE laws and regulations. Illegal activities will not be tolerated and, if caught, employment will immediately be terminated and proper authorities will be informed.

If a client is involved with illegal activities, the contract will immediately be terminated, the client blacklisted, and proper authorities will be informed.

Contracts:
Both a client’s background and the job in question will be thoroughly reviewed for accuracy and potential illegal activities, in a timely manner. Once accepted, a standard deposit of 25% of the job’s cost will be either paid in full or a payment plan will be arranged.

The other 75% of the job’s cost must be paid in full upon the successful completion of a contract. If payment is not produced, local law enforcement or even bounty hunters will be involved. Legal action will also be sought, in an attempt to reclaim lost profits through credits or valuable assets.

Confidentiality:
Sensitive information and data files attained during contracts are only disclosed to involved employees of Carthage Industries, who are bound by confidentiality agreements as required by law. Our client’s privacy is maintained at all times.

Representation:
All employees will, at all times, represent Carthage Industries and display their allegiance through the use of proper Carthage Industries tags. Employees will avoid public confrontations or internal arguments at all costs, as it reflects poorly upon not only you, but also upon the organization.

Organization Privacy:
Employees are charged with maintaining the integrity and privacy of information found within Carthage Industries’ secured channels and operations.

Organizational Structure:
Employees are cautioned to not take important matters related to Carthage Industries into their own hands, and are expected to refrain from making any comments or decisions that have not been previously approved by either a founder or an appropriate member of the management team.

Issues and concerns regarding any Carthage Industries decisions, employees, and allies must be, as soon as possible, brought to the attention of either a founder or member of the management team, in private.

At all times, employees of Carthage Industries will show respect to management by listening to them and following their lead. NEVER undermine the authority of a member of management.

Diversity:
Carthage Industries does not hire employees based on species, ethnicity, gender, or status. Such discrimination is a thing of the past, and should stay there. Absolutely no racism, sexism, or any other forms of prejudice will be tolerated from our employees and will result in immediate termination.

Cross-Division:
Employees should take initiative and engage, when appropriate, in tasks assigned to other divisions. When working with another division, you are expected to adhere to their policies and protocols and to follow the lead of that particular division’s command team.

The Game

  • Have fun. This rule isn’t up for debate. If you’re not having fun, let someone know and we’ll make sure you’re having fun! IT IS REQUIRED!!!
  • All organization members will, at all times, represent Carthage Industries and display their allegiance through the use of proper Carthage Industries tags in-game. In forums and on websites it’s not enforced but appreciated.
  • We only allow potential members that have no ties to any other organization. This is to prevent a member from becoming pulled in too many directions by the multiple organizations they would be a member of. Also, this prevents members from spying for other organizations.
  • Members are granted the right to rationally and maturely defend themselves, Carthage Industries, other Carthage Industries members, and our allies from any defamatory, derogatory, disrespectful, or otherwise negative remarks wherever and whenever appropriate. It is important to note, however that members are still expected to act in a manner that will reflect positively not only upon themselves, but, by association, Carthage Industries.
  • Members are charged with maintaining the integrity and privacy of information shared within the organization.
  • Issues and concerns regarding any Carthage Industries decisions, members, and allies must be, as soon as possible, brought to the attention of any admin that is available.
  • Members will avoid public confrontations or internal arguments at all costs as it reflects poorly upon not only you, but also upon Carthage Industries.
  • Members will respect one another and show each other kindness, understanding, tolerance, and patience. After all, we all have bad days sometimes.
  • Try to show admins respect. We’re here to help. If they’re disrespecting you or abusing their authority, be the better person and report it to an available admin.
  • Absolutely no racism, sexism, or any other forms of prejudice will be tolerated.
  • Do not, under any circumstance, reply to attacks or topics about Carthage Industries on any site or forum. There’s no point to it and it will only cause further drama that neither you or the organization really needs.

Communications

  • No mic spamming.
  • No chatbox spamming.
  • No excessive private messaging or poking of admins. Admins will get back to you as soon as they are available.
  • Do not give out any Teamspeak or Vent info to anyone who is not a member, unless given explicit permission or direction to do so by an admin.
  • If someone else is speaking, please allow them to finish.
  • Keep chat and links relatively clean. We all enjoy a good laugh, but linking porn, gore, screamers, etc. is just uncalled for.
  • Try and keep discussions to the proper channel. We will have multiple channels for divisions, operations, general chat, and so on.
  • Treat all guests with a welcoming and respectful attitude.
