At Cathcart Intergalactic, we’re here to have fun first, then do the job right.

We organize group activities like industrial operations, multi-crewing ships, story missions, and manufacturing the best goods in the ‘Verse. We’re fairly laid back, but we focus because showing up prepared and communicating keeps the fun from turning into chaos.

At heart, we’re an industrial org with our roots in cargo. We actively participate in mining, salvage, cargo, crafting, and occasional FPS and ship combat. We take our work, especially the larger/more dangerous jobs seriously, but are still willing to joke around and have fun. Larger operations require coordination, organization and lots of time. We respect the time of our members and don’t want carelessness to create massive setbacks or loss of resources.

Although we are primarily NA/USA based, we do have players across Europe, Asia and Australia, so no matter what time zone you are in we have people to group up and play with. All are welcome here. We are currently looking to grow and are recruiting. All skill levels are welcome, we are great with newcomers to the game and veterans alike.

Membership to the org is not a requirement to play with us. Though membership will come with benefits in the future like access to org fleet and utilities. We do use some rank roles, but it’s more based on your activity in the group, not a job title. We do have some light structure at the top ranks, but it’s just a group of us deciding the direction of our core activities.

We’re pretty neutral in our alignment, but we lean lawful in how we operate. In our org lore, Hank Jackson established CIS in the Cathcart system which is an outlaw system. Hank and his crews have participated in smuggling and other less than legal activities when circumstances demanded it, but, CIS built a reputation on doing what was needed to keep people paid and missions moving. Many of our veterans here were around for the original Jumptown War and made our fair share of profits.

We do investigate/background check (not IRL) newcomers so we can ensure a safe and secure environment for our group. If you’d like to submit an application to join the org via the RSI website, be sure to let us know when you join the discord since social tools are still lacking and we may not be notified of new applications.

Lastly, we’re open to alliances with other orgs as we are not interested in becoming some mega zerg org. That said, we’re looking to find other groups that specialize in similar and different areas. We look forward to working with you and we’ll see you in the ‘Verse!

Our mission is simple: Do work in the ‘Verse and have fun doing it. We aim to operate without a big power structure, but there are some light ranks that will need to be earned in order to have access to our org’s resources and facilities.

There’s a fine line between fun and it feeling like work. We want a fun and engaging environment while pushing the ball closer to our goals, but not at the expense of a not fun and unwelcoming environment. We want to grow to be recognized in the industry, but not for all the wrong reasons. We value respect, hard work and friendly interactions between members.

We are seeking to grow the org by a little bit. Maybe between 10 and 20 more members, maybe more seeing how things go. The goal is multicrew, multi-ship operations (and eventually multi-system). Mining, salvaging and cargo all in one operation across multiple systems is the goal. Accumulating resources for crafting and construction.

Services which we will provide include, but not limited to: Retail sales of crafted goods and commodities, building your base or space stations in peace and wartime (Think SeaBees (Construction Battalions)), cargo transport of your goods, moving services and much more!

We do have some roles and ranks in the org, half of them come with a small amount of responsibility, but most will not be required. You must want to be put into a leadership role and will never be forced to, if we see that you have natural leadership skills or are interested in learning, you may be asked if you’d like to be in said role, but that isn’t all that important to us. We’re more interested in catering to a fun gameplay environment, primarily in the industrial sector. We do participate in much of the new “story content” and do some FPS and ship combat, but we aren’t a sweaty PVP org. Though if you have those skills, they are definitely needed for protection of our operations.

We have a pretty active Discord channel and stay up to date on everything Star Citizen and have some very knowledgeable people who love to discuss various things about the game, old and new. Our org has been around since 2018 (2948 in universe) and have many folks that are kickstarter backers to the project. Most training for the org is “on the job”. We don’t have performance requirements to fly your own ships doing org stuff, we just ask that you aren’t destructive with our resources and respect our time that is put into harvesting resources together. There will be opportunity in the org for solo players as well once org tools are online. If you want to get paid just to gather resources in your spare time and deposit them to the org storage facilities, that will be an option as soon as CIG makes it so.

The direction of the org is up to a few of the top members of the org, but that also comes with heavy consideration from our group as well. We’ll hear what you want to do and weigh our options with the physical and financial resources we have to make things happen. We have a very laid back environment and will act accordingly if someone breaches that environment with toxic and overall unacceptable behavior. We aren’t going to kick or ban you outright, you will get a fair chance to talk things out and come to an understanding, but we ultimately will not tolerate bad behavior, especially when directed at another member of our group. We want you all to find this as a safe place to be and trust in us that we will keep it that way.
