“Protection You Can Probably Count On”
Civil Security Service – Historical Brief
The Civil Security Service (CSS) was formally established on May 1st, 2956, following the departure of its founder, ThatGuyGandee, from TerraForge Industrial Contracting. After years spent in high-risk industrial operations and corporate security environments, Gandee broke away to pursue a more independent path—one focused on direct action, bounty acquisition, and contract-based protection without corporate oversight.
Rather than building a large organization, CSS was intentionally formed as a small, self-contained unit. Gandee was joined by two trusted associates, creating a tight three-person team capable of operating efficiently without the bureaucracy of larger entities.
The organization is headquartered entirely aboard a Drake Corsair gunship, serving as both transport and permanent residence for all CSS agents. Outfitted with an extensive onboard weapons array, supported by a cache of handheld firearms and a deployable ground combat vehicle, the Corsair allows CSS to project force across space and planetary surfaces alike. This mobility enables the team to accept contracts in any system, on any world, without reliance on fixed infrastructure.
From fleet escort and cargo protection to bounty hunting and ground security operations, CSS was built around one principle: small footprint, full capability. Living and operating from a single vessel, CSS agents maintain constant readiness—deploying rapidly wherever their services are required.
Though newly founded, the Civil Security Service represents a shift away from corporate-controlled security forces toward independent, mandate-driven enforcement, defined by mobility, adaptability, and controlled application of force.
