Born from the gas clouds of Crusader, Cloudrift Salvage Co. has made the void its workshop. Every asteroid is a vault waiting to be opened. Every drifting wreck is a story waiting to be finished. We do both.
With precision, with purpose, and without hesitation.

History

Origins of the Drift

It almost went unnoticed.
Three hours deep in a promising vein, sensors finally pinged full. A standard run nothing spectacular, nothing to write home about. Just another shift alone in the belly of a moon, the kind of quiet work that pays the bills and leaves you too tired to think about much else.
The drill powered down. The extraction bay sealed. The ATLS broke through the rock and climbed back toward the surface.
What had been an empty, windswept plateau was now a graveyard.
Twisted hulls half-buried in the dust. Debris scattered across the horizon as far as the sensors could read. Some still smoldering. Some split clean open, their guts spilling across the grey rock like something had simply reached down and torn them apart.
The cockpit was quiet for a long time.
Nobody knew who had fought up there above the clouds. Nobody knew who had won. It didn’t particularly matter. What mattered was that someone had left an extraordinary amount of valuable material scattered across a moon that, until about three hours ago, had been completely unremarkable.
No report was filed. No comms were made.
The next day, a Vulture landed where the ATLS had been.
Then the day after that. Then an old crewmate got a call. Then that crewmate passed the word along. Then someone else showed up with their own ship and a business proposition scrawled on the back of a cargo manifest.
Four months to strip the site clean. By the end of it, there were more credits than three years of solo mining combined, a small but reliable crew, and one uncomfortable realization — there was no going back to working alone.
Cloudrift Salvage Co. wasn’t born from ambition. It wasn’t born from a vision or a grand plan.
It was born from a miner surfacing from the rock and finding the ‘verse had rearranged itself while he wasn’t looking.

Manifesto

Manifesto

We are not conquerors.
We do not chase glory, we do not seek war, and we do not claim what does not belong to us. We are operators. Professionals. People who understand that the greatest wealth in the ‘verse is not taken by force it is extracted, carefully, from the places others have forgotten or abandoned.
We believe in the value of what remains.
Every asteroid is a vault. Every drifting wreck is an opportunity. Where others see debris and dead rock, we see the next contract, the next haul, the next step forward. The ‘verse wastes nothing and neither do we.
We operate with discipline.
Cloudrift Salvage Co. is not a band of scavengers. We are a corporation with standards, structure, and a reputation worth protecting. Every operation is planned. Every extraction is deliberate. Every member of this crew understands that the difference between a successful run and a disaster is preparation.
We take care of our own.
No operator flies alone unless they choose to. No distress call from a crewmate goes unanswered. No share is stolen, no credit is shorted, no contribution goes unrecognized. What we extract from the void, we split fairly. What we build together, we protect together.
We respect the rock and the wreck alike.
Mining is patience. Salvage is precision. Both demand respect for the environment, for the equipment, and for the lives that may have been lost in the hulls we reclaim. We do not celebrate destruction. We simply ensure that nothing valuable is left behind.
We are not bound by trade lanes or safe routes.
Cloudrift goes where the opportunity is through jump points, across contested fields, into the quiet corners of the ‘verse that the big contractors ignore. Risk is part of the job. Managing it is what separates professionals from amateurs.
We were born from the clouds of Crusader.
We started with a single miner, a single wreck, and a decision to go back the next day. That is still who we are operators who show up, do the work, and leave nothing on the table.

What we are
Cloudrift Salvage Co. is not a corporation with ranks, obligations and mandatory meetings. It is a network of independent operators who share a common passion for mining and salvage. You fly when you want, how you want, where you want. We are just here if you need a hand.

What we do
We mine. We salvage. We share our experiences, our good spots, our mistakes and our techniques. If you are looking for a crewmate for a run, you ask on the Discord. If you have a question about a mining laser or a salvage head, someone will probably have the answer. It is as simple as that.

What we expect
Not much. Be respectful toward other members. Do not claim a site that another member is already working. If someone asks for help, respond if you can. The rest is yours to decide.

What we do not tolerate
Toxicity, theft between members and griefing toward the community. Everything else is a matter of common sense.
