Pre 2845 – The Great Scrap Rush:
Canyon Shipwork made its mark during this era, establishing a reputation for salvaging and repurposing derelict ships on Borea in the Magnus system, prior to Drake Interplanetary purchasing all the old warehouses and equipment left behind by the UEEN when they vacated the system. Canyon and his crew became masters of resource recovery and improvisation, skills that would later prove invaluable.
2854 – Doohan Engineering’s Breakthrough:
Doohan Engineering created the first practical Modular Hull Repair (MHR) system for support vehicles. This technology allowed for rapid and efficient repair of hull breaches without requiring extensive welding or specialist equipment. Doohan struggled to scale up production to meet demand.
2873 – The Toha Mining Disaster:
Toha Heavy Industries, initially focused on constructing mining equipment, faced a significant setback when a catastrophic accident occurred during the construction of a mobile mining platform. The incident nearly bankrupted them, but they vowed to become the safest and most reliable constructor in the industry, forever altering their approach.
2919 – Expansion Efforts:
Recognizing the need for a more secure and established base of operations, Canyon Shipwork secures a shipyard lease on Crusader (Stanton II). They establish a larger repair facility, setting up a job fair to attract skilled workers and network for contracts from both corporate and independent clients.
2945 – The Vanduul Incursion of Vega:
During the early days of the Vanduul War, Doohan Engineering played an important role in repairing ships damaged during the Vanduul attacks. They were commended for their ability to get ships back into the fight with limited resources in a short time.
2951 – The UEEN Azorian Incident:
A botched robbery, were an attempt at stealing Quantum fuel from a docked UEEN Patrol boat being repaired at a Toha Heavy Industries facility, led to the deaths and injuries of multiple Peacekeepers and THI personnel as perpetrators fled the scene. THI was cleared of any wrong doing as Advocacy investigative leads found strong evidence connecting a known criminal enterprise, Nine Tails, to similar incidents at sites frequented by the Navy within the Stanton system.
2955 – Mergers & Acquisitions and New Hires:
└─ Faced with increasing competition and economic uncertainty, the heads of Canyon Shipwork, Doohan Engineering, and Toha Heavy Industries, recognized the benefits of combining their strengths. After months of intense negotiations and a series of complex restructuring agreements, Canyon Heavy Industries was born and it’s HQ established at Area 18 on ArcCorp (Stanton III).
└─ CHI now offers a more comprehensive package of shipyard services to both Human and Tevarin civilians and citizens alike; shipbuilding, maintenance, service, repairs, shipbreaking.
└─ March 18th-21st – CHI refinances to provide the capital and legal muscle needed to outmanoeuvre its competition in securing two startup Mining companies, Santon Mining Co. and Mining Inc.
└─ March 23rd – A lone breakdown engineer stumbled upon an old CHI freighter drifting aimlessly through the void. Having jury-rigged a flux-entrapment shield and spending several days nursing the behemoth back to a quantum-capable state, the pilot towed it back to a CHI shipyard where they received a hefty payment, a job offer they couldn’t refuse, and a tall tale of the lost freighter.
└─ April 17th – Orion Mining & Logistics had built a reputation for reliability and fair dealing that resonated with the miners and haulers of New Austin on Terra which, ironically, made it a prime target for a hostile takeover in the harsh landscape that was Pike (Terra II). The competition was ruthless and employed smear tactics of workplace grievances and accident claims, undercut them on contracts, and leveraged political connections delaying permits. Facing bankruptcy and mounting pressure, its CEO had no choice but to sell.
└─ May 10th – Unable to afford the rent in New Babbage, microTech (Stanton IV), Lunar Aquatics and Technologies; known for their research and pioneering breakthroughs in closed-loop aquaculture, creating miniature, thriving reefs in lunar habitats, and who had developed algae-based oxygen production systems, was acquired.
└─ June 5th – Salvage UK, based on Earth (Sol III), was no longer profitable and unable to support its crew. The CEO closed shop then boarded a transporter bound for the Stanton system. Docked at Baijini Point orbiting ArcCorp, they headed down to the Cargo deck seeking work… The rest, as they say, is history.
It’s more than a contract.
It’s a challenge. An achievement.
It’s a lifestyle. An expression.
It’s progression. Lessons learned. Records broken. And limits redefined.
It’s a calling. It’s everywhere. It’s forever.
Being self-sustaining, Canyon Heavy Industries develops, engineers, manufactures and supports products to deliver civilian, commercial, and security solutions built to last. We achieve this by offering a large pool of professions to carry out across our multiple business groups1, where each aspect of our Organization caters to various play-styles and interaction preferences toward NPCs and players in both PvE and PvP environments, giving our members plenty of ways to express their interests. That said, engineering and manufacturing are at the heart of our operations and ships a specialty – see below poster for more.

1 Our members have the freedom to undertake any number of professions/roles we offer and, where cross-over permits, mix them up across the business groups. This allows us as a whole to fulfil and more easily close out game play loops internally so that the professions and roles we perform serve a wider purpose.
At Canyon Heavy Industries, you are neither another nameplate nor revenue stream, you are as important as our clients and help make up the total value of the organization.
Canyon Heavy Industries seeks to create a mature environment with a fun atmosphere, one that incorporates respect toward one another and the organization as a whole, for a group of like-minded players interested in all things engineering, resources, and associated roles.
This we will achieve by fostering meaningful connections with one another, the basis with which to develop our in-game and personal experiences further, so that collaboration and dependability are the driving factors that will enable us to accomplish our ends.
At Canyon Heavy Industries, we make time to listen to our clients. Our open, collaborative approach is the key driver of our product portfolio’s evolution. We will deliver each project, each activity, each service, with an obsessive desire: Exceeding your expectations is our most important goal; after all, we’re part of your interstellar journey.
At Canyon Heavy Industries, personal attention to the clients’ requirements, listening to their needs and open communication are fundamental to our business model. In doing so, we aim to optimise our clients earning potential through fabrication & construction, repair & maintenance, conversion and decommissioning, technical services, and in-service support, all of which are built on a foundation of quality and are entirely in-house. This guarantees a high-quality tailored service or custom-built product which is developed as a direct result of a flexible and practical approach.
We aim to be a one-stop-shop for our clients wears, armaments, and vehicular needs. The way in which we will achieve this is by means of operating multiple businesses across UEE territories; Shipyard & Conversion, New-build Yards, Service Hubs, and Commercial Buildings. We will operate across any commercial markets where we see an opportunity to expand our bespoke products and tailored services.
— We are dedicated to tailoring all our services to the unique needs of each client so that they receive the most relevant result that fits their goals.
— We treat our clients as extended family. We cultivate strong relationships with them based on trust and open communication.
— We continuously strive to know the fields in which we operate-in to deliver streamlined and expedite services that help our clients stay the course in their respective areas of operations.
— To help every client achieve their goals by providing exceptional customer support in the bespoke services and products we offer.
— To cultivate lasting relationships with our clients based on trust, clarity, and providing outstanding services and products.
— To foster a culture of ongoing learning and development among our employees, ensuring that they remain experts in their fields so that we, as a business, stay ahead of the competition and consistently deliver services and products that meet our clients’ evolving needs.
At Canyon Heavy Industries, we are committed to fulfilling services that are as unique as each of our clients. We understand one product or service does not suit all requirements, so our solutions to providing them are tailored to the client’s situational needs. We pride ourselves in treating our clients like extended family and building a bond rooted in trust, respect, and genuine care.
At Canyon Heavy Industries, we’ve adopted a Team Based Org structure as it fits with our inclusive environment that provides opportunities to grow where members feel valued, respected, and have a sense of belonging. It affords our members the ability to carry out any number of professions they’ve an interest in which helps facilitate teamwork and cooperation among different teams and allows for problem-solving, including potential workflow shortages, and in being somewhat autonomous – finding what works best in order to get the job done – with minimal oversight.
Our Team-Based Org structure entails a flat hierarchy where the Managing Director creates an Operating & Execution Model1, one which is not limited in scope or restricted by time-frames, that is communicated down to the Operations Managers who in-turn breakdown the goals into more manageable actions by allocating resources; personnel, budgetary needs, and equipment, across their respective teams to accomplish the necessary tasks.
Teams comprise any number of Project Leads, Craftsmen, Engineers, Technicians, Operators, and Greenhorns, where no one member of any rank is senior in command to another2. Instead, all participants of a team help one another to accomplish their task where skills and instruction/advice are passed down to help members learn, improve, and gain confidence to be more efficient in that role.
1 At Canyon Heavy Industries, our goal isn’t to simply grow the business. Our business strategy for profitable growth means investing in areas with the most potential to create value. It helps us identify whether individual areas of our business are creating or consuming value. Through facts and data we will understand which industries are most attractive and what it would take to excel. We then implement strategies to improve our competitive position in profitable businesses and allocate resources to areas that have the best potential for future growth.
2 Members should note that this rank structure and current lack of seniority therein is open for debate and can change if members decide in favor for that. Additionally, while we strive to accommodate everyone, members are advised that it is not always possible to promote into “management” roles, and, when discussing contribution and potential, a member may choose to stay in their current rank/role if they wish. Furthermore, these ranks and roles are based on current Org Tools and may evolve when new Org Tools are released.
