History

In the year 2460 the U.N.E began Colonization Mandate 2997.1.

Humanity took to the universe on freshly terraformed worlds in search of home.

The “Mandate” as it came to be called settled four planets in close proximity to each other in the hopes of future mutual defense and support as well as U.N.E military rest and refit ports. Before long the people began to take pride in their colonial lifestyle forming close friendships with not only each other but with other colonies. Colony worlds rich in agriculture sent food and agricultural based products to its fellow colonies for the exchange of technology and skilled workers.

Gradually, the exchange of trade, services, and other goods traded between the colonies became more predominant than that of the trade with the U.N.E. For dozens of years the colonies kept this arrangement up and became almost self sufficient to each other, if not for needing the manpower from the U.N.E to sustain their massive requirements for manpower and tech. The colonies began to develop infrastructure and construction of modernized cities compared to the previous rural townships that had once dotted the colonial provinces planet-side.

Amid rising tensions of the lack of representation in the U.N.E, the colonies applied pressure by withholding vital commodities from the Governing bodies of Earth. Giving in to the demand of the billions living across the universe on the terraformed worlds, the U.N.E was reformed into the U.P.E in 2523.

Finally, all distant citizens of mankind had a say in the laws of man and for a time things settled into a relatively apprehensive but peaceful few decades of expansion and development.

Tensions and fears ran high during the Xi’An Cold War crisis but ultimately many of Earths colonies remained unaffected, that is until the Tevarin were discovered.

Raids on distant colonies forced the U.P.E to dispatch its might to guarding the safety and prosperity of these vital resources. During this time the Colonial Order for Protection Act signed into effect on August the 3rd, 2542 enacted the Colonial Guard. The Colonial Guard acts as the Security Defense Force and Militia in times of crisis to protect the colonies and to allow the U.P.E to focus on winning what would become known as the 1st Tevarin war.

The Colonial Guard did its job and soon Tevarin war parties were driven back each time the made the jump to colonial systems. An economic boon soon hit the the colonies of Mandate 2997.1 and having grown in size they became much more organized, adding a planetary Governor and many Ministers of varying departments to run their colonies in efficiency and civility.

In 2603 the Tevarin fleet makes a resurgence in a 7 year battle for territories they lost just years earlier. Resources being stretched thin the now newly formed U.E.E is embroiled in the conflict draining the resources of the “mandate” and forming rifts between the colonies and their lordship.

69 years passed and once again the colonies found themselves threatened by war.

Having escaped much conflict in the tenured history of the Colonies the general attitude of the people becomes complacent, believing the U.E.E would defend them against the new and looming Vanduul threat the state of security is at an all time low as trade and technology continue to advance rapidly. Then the Colonies got the worst news of all.

Streamed live on the Colonial News Feed was the signing by the Imperator of a new act, officially ending Colonization Mandate 2997.1.

The colonies were sovereign territory and needed to act fast. Thus, the Colonial Republic was born. Maintaining much of its original structure but modified to include 4 planets and a governing body Chancellor Smith Redman forged the foundation of the Colonial Republic setting the colonies and her people for unparalleled growth and freedom for the next few centuries.

In 2942 the descendant of Chancellor Redman, Fredrick Redman the IV was killed in a diplomatic meet with a pirate band.

Assuming power by Colonial Republic Law, and with the support of the people, Chancellor Verytas signed into act a formal resolution against piracy, and tasked the Colonial Military Command of eliminating any and all threats to the Colonial Republic.

The year is now 2945, as a colonist of the Colonial Republic, you have an opportunity to earn your name in the pages of the Colonial Republic Historical Library.

As a colonist under the Ministry of Commerce, you can build riches beyond your wildest dreams and visit distant worlds, meeting like minded tradesman and merchants. Salvage dangerous derelicts and scrounge through not so distant battles looking for the prize of a fortune. Become an operator/partner of a Colonial Mining Venture and gain your weight in precious metals and materials. Maybe transporting supplies, persons, or even dangerously unstable cargo is more your speed? If it is the Colonial Republic Ministry of Commerce could use a profit minded citizen like you.

Our Ministry of Science has been responsible for all manners of comfortable and efficient living so far from Earth. Our scientists have created machines that have sewn crops in difficult conditions, duplicated food stocks, tripled the efficiency of our engines and a great deal more. Maybe sitting in a Colonial Republic lab is a bit too tedious for you, well the Exploration arm of the Colonial Republic seeks to find new worlds, uncharted civilizations and wonders, massive derelict ships, and to plot, chart, and navigate the vast regions of the Universe. If this is your calling, then we want brilliant minds like you to assist our Republic in getting to the scientific achievement and enlightenment we strive to attain.

If you have a thirst for justice and wish to see it dispatched properly then the Colonial Affairs Office would be no better calling. Containing the Police and Security Defense Force also known as the Colonial Guard, the Judicial branch seeks to eliminate crime and keep the colonists of the Republic safe. Whether as an undercover officer, or preforming security patrols through the cities and villages, high orbit police chases, or breaking up a few bar fights, if you have a sense of doing right by others we could use good men and women like you. The dedicated, professional and honorable services provided by this department help to make every colonist’s life better.
