To realize this vision, Dr. Zolomon acquired The Bifröst, an Anvil Carrack optimized for long-range expeditions. Recognizing that such missions required more than a small team of scientists, he carefully assembled a crew of specialists. Each member was selected not only for skill but for temperament: individuals who could handle high-stakes situations calmly, respect the chain of command, and operate with discipline and restraint.
The Security team, trained for defensive action only, ensures both ship and crew remain safe, whether aboard The Bifröst or during planetary excursions. Engineering specialists keep the vessel operational in the harshest conditions, capable of repairing critical systems under pressure. Navigators and pilots guide the Carrack through uncharted systems and unstable jump points, while medical officers safeguard crew health and manage biohazard threats. PREAMBLE
The Bifröst exists to explore, observe, and understand the Verse while preserving life, knowledge, and crew integrity. This Charter governs all conduct aboard.
I — MISSION
Primary: Exploration, cartography, scientific observation, first-contact observation. Secondary: UEE and civilian exploration contracts, ethical data resale. Limitation: Defensive vessel only. No raiding, conquest, or provocation.
II — COMMAND
Captain (Dr. Zolomon): Final authority on mission, ethics, and engagement. – Chain of Command: Captain → XO → Division Heads. – Emergencies: XO assumes command if Captain is incapacitated. Medical Officer has absolute authority on health/biohazards. Engineering has priority authority during ship-critical failures.
III — RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
Avoidance and de-escalation are mandatory. Defensive action only, proportional and controlled. Escalation: Evasion → Shields/Countermeasures → Warnings → Defensive Fire → Extraction. The Bifröst does not fire first.
IV — CREW CONDUCT

Rights: Fair profit share, medical care, safe conditions, representation through command channels. Obligations: Uphold this Charter, maintain readiness, protect crew and vessel.
