ACT I : Crimson Rising
=======================================================

Origins:

Crimson Squadron’s genesis can be traced back to the heart of Nightingale Industries, where it sprouted as the renowned Bounty Hunting unit under the command of Major JackTheRogue, known as “Monarch.” Swiftly ascending the echelons, the squadron etched its name as a formidable presence, excelling not only in bounty hunting but also proving its mettle on the front lines as a vanguard against capital ships.

Crimson Squadron’s Independence:

Breaking away from the nurturing folds of Nightingale Industries, Crimson Squadron unfurled its wings, venturing into the realm of autonomy under Major JackTheRogue’s strategic leadership. Despite the divergence, the relationship with Jack’s mentor, OreoTheDJ of the Night Hunters, remained a beacon of camaraderie.

Expanding their purview beyond mere bounty hunting, Crimson Squadron soared to the forefront of aerial superiority, notably securing a pivotal role as Microtech’s principal security contractor. The pinnacle of their accomplishments materialized during the daring defense of Port Treseller, where the squadron single-handedly dismantled an illegal blockade, toppling two Hammerhead-class and three Constellation-class ships.

In the crucible of conflict emerged Ruby, the combat medic codenamed “Garuda,” her saga intertwining with Crimson Squadron during the chaos of the Port Treseller blockade. Rescued from the brink of demise, Ruby reciprocated the gesture by becoming a linchpin of the squadron, specializing in both combat medicine and the adept piloting of sub-capital ships.

Divisional Growth:

As Crimson Squadron burgeoned in influence, it strategically organized into divisions, the vanguard being the Advanced Warfare Division, an elite cadre renowned as Black Ops. This division, steeped in the legacy of anti-capital ordinance expertise, stood as the premier hunting force within Crimson Squadron.

In the pivotal year of 2950, the squadron laid the keel for its flagship, the majestic Constellation-class vessel christened “The Crimson Spear.” This vessel, more than a mere flagship, embodied the essence of deployment, congregation, and training. Recognizing the exigency of diverse revenue streams, Crimson Squadron delved into trade with neighboring systems, augmenting their coffers alongside Microtech’s continued financial support.

Mining Ventures and Strategic Alliances:

In the late 2950s, amidst the expansive ambitions of The Crimson Squadron, the Monarch discerned a pivotal opportunity to fortify their financial backbone and resource reservoirs. Thus, the decision to establish a Mining Corp emerged as a strategic imperative, conceived not only to finance exploration and combat but also to erect small outposts and a headquarters, anchoring the organization’s presence in the vastness of the cosmos.

As the notion crystallized into action, Crimson Squadron embarked on several small-scale mining excursions, quickly realizing the necessity of enlisting the expertise of seasoned miners. The pivotal moment arrived when intelligence reached Crimson about a proficient mining group operating under the moniker Roc Busters. Perceiving this as an opportunity to augment their mining capabilities, one of the Majors was dispatched to establish contact, a move that, initially, seemed like a distant gamble.

Roc Busters, shrouded in a veil of mystery, had garnered a reputation for efficiency and prowess in the mining domain. The leader of this enigmatic group, Silver Gunner, defied the stereotype of a conventional miner. His capabilities transcended the mundane, proving instrumental in satisfying Crimson Squadron’s immediate mining requirements. The alliance with Roc Busters burgeoned, setting the stage for collaborative endeavors that would not only propel Crimson Squadron’s mining operations to new heights but also solidify their position as a formidable force in the cosmos.

Strategic Alliances and Sponsorships:

In the annals of 2951, a pivotal chapter unfolded in Crimson Squadron’s history with the establishment of its most impactful trade partnership to date. Certusian Industries, a distinguished Weapons Research and Development Company situated at Port Elizabeth II above Earth in the Sol System, forged an alliance with Crimson. This sponsorship was not a unilateral arrangement; rather, it materialized as a reciprocal commitment. Crimson Squadron agreed to meet the stringent requirements set by Certusian Industries, and in return, they were endowed with specialized components and cutting-edge shipcrafts.

Of particular note among the bestowed assets were prototypes from the Aegis Platform, including Eclipses and Sabre Stealth Ships. This collaboration unearthed a revelation – the veil of Aegis, the renowned ship manufacturer, lifted to reveal its role as a mere facade for Certusian Industries’ primary dealings in military contracts. The symbiotic relationship between Certusian Industries and Crimson Squadron burgeoned into a testament of mutual benefit, intertwining the destinies of two formidable entities in the vast expanse of the cosmos.

In a significant strategic move, Crimson Squadron formally integrated Roc Busters into its ranks, solidifying the mining group’s position as The New Mining Corp within the organization’s formidable structure.

Legacy and Succession:

As the wheels of time turned, late 2051 marked a poignant moment in Crimson Squadron’s narrative. After years of faithful service and camaraderie, Mining Corp Lieutenant Silver Gunner, a stalwart figure instrumental in Crimson’s mining endeavors, passed away at the age of 64. The cause, a silent adversary – heart failure, exacerbated by years of mining in the early days without proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The inevitable question arose – who would succeed the legacy of Lieutenant Silver Gunner? Rally, his son, stood next in line, inheriting not just a title but a mantle of responsibility. Yet, the looming uncertainty begged the question – was Rally prepared to carry forward the torch of his father’s legacy? The corridors of Crimson Squadron echoed with this uncertainty, a poignant reminder of the passage of time and the weight of succession in the face of both loss and legacy.

Rallying in 2952:

The dawn of early 2052 marked a significant chapter for Crimson Squadron’s Mining Corp as Rally officially assumed the mantle of Lieutenant. Pledging to continue his father’s legacy and uphold the ideals of mining excellence, Rally embarked on a journey laden with expectations, fully aware of the substantial shoes he was poised to fill.

The Discovery of the Carrack:

November 7th, an unassuming date, unraveled an unexpected turn of events during a covert mission on Euterpe. Major JackTheRogue and Combat Medic Ruby stumbled upon an abandoned Carrack. Ruby’s discerning eye, honed through her tenure as an Anvil test pilot, detected a glimmer of opportunity. Despite a malfunctioning main power plant, the rest of the ship lay in a salvageable state. An idea took root – Ruby, armed with her sub-capital license, resolved to return after the mission to restore the Carrack. This vision birthed the Crimson Medical Ship (CMS) “Queen of the Void.”

The Crimson Medical Ship’s Heroic Debut:

The “Queen of the Void” quickly garnered renown within the Stanton system, serving as a beacon of hope during Search-and-Rescue operations, investigating fresh wrecks to locate and treat survivors, and transporting humanitarian goods in times of crisis. Its illustrious reputation reached its zenith during the infamous 9Tails Lockdown, where the CMS “Queen of the Void” fearlessly breached enemy blockades to deliver crucial medical supplies and sustenance to besieged stations around Crusader. This storied vessel seamlessly blended its humanitarian duties with a clandestine second role – acting as a strategic staging ground for covert operations, embodying the versatile prowess of Crimson Squadron.
Crimson’s Expansion and Propaganda Blitz:

November 10th to 11th witnessed Crimson Squadron’s strategic decision to disseminate its influence and seek new recruits at the bustling New Babbage Spaceport. Setting up a recruitment stall within the merchandise shop, Crimson offered not just enlistment but a promise of leadership and progression within the organization. Among the recruits was Ceras, codenamed “Fish,” an adept flyer brimming with confidence. Fish’s entry marked the genesis of the Crimson Logistic Division, dedicated to addressing logistical shortfalls and transporting Crimson forces around Stanton for battle engagements.

Inaugural Training Mission:

With the formation of the new Medical Division and the nascent Logistic Corp, the organization embarked on its inaugural training mission. Utilizing dropships, notably the Valkyrie, the training focused on rapid troop deployment to planetary surfaces, storming bunkers, and facilitating medical rescues. This period saw the Medical Division extending its hand to save all in need, actively encouraging individuals to join Crimson Squadron. Newly promoted Sergeant Fish assumed command of the Valkyrie, orchestrating the deployment of Crimson Squadron across Microtech. The “Queen of the Void” played a pivotal role as a mobile medical and regenerative station, with Lt General Ruby showcasing her unwavering readiness in times of peril, ensuring the swift and secure extraction of Crimson Squadron from their missions. This synchronicity highlighted the seamless integration of medical and logistical capabilities within the Crimson ranks.

Organizational Milestones: November 16/11 – 21/11, 2952

First Organizational Meeting: November 16/11

Crimson Squadron marked a historic moment on November 16th, 2952, hosting its first organization-wide meeting within the expansive confines of the rented Tobi Expo Center. Standing before the assembled troops, Commander JackTheRogue unveiled ambitious plans for the future, signaling the organization’s rapid expansion into new areas of wealth and power. Hierarchies were meticulously formed, and divisions were officially laid out, laying the groundwork for what would evolve into the Mining & Salvage Corp and the Commerce Division.

Post-discussions and Q&A sessions, JackTheRogue shifted focus to comprehensive member training. The introduction of certifications became a hallmark, signifying specialized training in various facets of Crimson’s operations. Notably, Medical Certifications, taught by Lt Gen Ruby, and the newly proposed Refueling Certification for the Logistic Corp added layers of expertise to the organization. Lt Gen Ruby’s eloquent talks about the medical aspect of Crimson resonated throughout the hall, enchanting and captivating all who listened.

Inaugural Refueling Certification:

Commencing Crimson’s inaugural Refueling Certification, Commander JackTheRogue orchestrated a hands-on experience. Renting an aging UEE Gemini Starferer from MT Security Protections, the training aimed to equip members with essential skills. As fate would have it, the newly acquired expertise would soon be put to the test. Stranded pilot Chuck “Whalla” found himself adrift in deep space with a stuck Nomad. Jack swiftly deployed the Starfarer, rushing to Chuck’s aid. With the expertise of Lt Gen Ruby piloting the ship, they successfully refueled the Nomad with Quantum, not only saving Chuck but also welcoming him as a new member into the ranks of Crimson Squadron.
Confrontation with “The Black Kite”: November 20/11 – 21/11

While on a covert mission for Microtech, Crimson Squadron encountered the notorious pirate ship “The Black Kite” on November 20th and 21st. A colossal repurposed Redeemer, this ship had left a trail of plundered stations within the Stanton sector, proving impervious to previous attempts at its interception. Commander Jack, assessing the dire situation, marshaled the combined might of the Elite Crimson Rogues, Lt Gen Ruby, and Rally.

In a spectacular engagement, rejigged salvaged lasers were unleashed upon the Crimson Spear, crippling its snub fighter bay. Shields were in dire need of repair, but Crimson pressed forward. A strategic barrage of EM torpedoes and a specially supplied EMP module, courtesy of Certusian Industries, incapacitated the Black Kite’s weapon systems. The Crimson Spear, though crippled, advanced into boarding position.

Commander Jack, driven by a thirst for intel, led one team into an intense battle in the rear processing room, deploying Lt Gen Rally to a sniping position where he effectively neutralized entrenched pirates. Meanwhile, the second team, led by Lt Gen Ruby, confronted a critical situation – the Black Kite’s damaged reactor, nearing a nuclear meltdown.

In a race against time, Lt Gen Ruby and her team of engineers and medics successfully slowed down the reactor’s breakdown process. Knowing that time was of the essence, Crimson Squadron had a mere 5 minutes to escape, a message urgently relayed to Jack. The exit airlock became a frenetic scene as Sgt Fish, stationed in the Crimson Spear, awaited their immediate exfiltration. With all aboard, Fish executed a Quantum Jump just as the Black Kite erupted behind them, marking another daring chapter in Crimson Squadron’s storied history.

Trial by Fire: November 27/11, 2952

Unexpected Encounter with an Idris:

On November 27th, 2952, Crimson Squadron faced an unexpected and severe test of their space combat capabilities during a routine combat training exercise around Crusader. The training fleet, consisting of two Redeemers supported by the renowned “Queen of the Void,” received a distress call that swiftly catapulted them into a perilous situation.

Outgunned and Outmatched:

The distress call unveiled a grim reality – an Aegis Idris, recently pilfered from the UEE Navy by pirates, loomed on the horizon. Recognizing the moral imperative to protect civilians, Crimson Squadron wasted no time and immediately engaged the formidable foe. In a fierce battle, the two Redeemers found themselves outgunned by the stolen military behemoth.

The Valor of “Queen of the Void”:

The “Queen of the Void” emerged as the linchpin of the Crimson fleet, leveraging her size and energy output to mask the signatures of the Redeemers. Lt Gen Ruby, renowned as a sub-capital specialist, showcased her unparalleled piloting skills. In a display of sheer mastery, she skillfully evaded not one but two shots from the Idris’s main railgun, a testament to her exceptional prowess even at the perilous point-blank range of 50 meters.

A Fierce Battle and Victory:

The ensuing battle was arduous, a relentless onslaught where the “Queen of the Void” maneuvered strategically, drawing the attention of the Idris to allow the Redeemers to attack as efficiently as possible. Despite the odds, persistence and tactical brilliance prevailed. After a protracted and strenuous fight, the stolen Idris was finally brought down, securing a hard-fought victory for Crimson Squadron.

Escort to Safety:

The triumphant Redeemers, accompanied by the now heavily damaged “Queen of the Void,” undertook the task of escorting the battle-weary flagship back to Port Olisar for much-needed repairs. This encounter not only tested the combat mettle of Crimson Squadron but underscored the valor, resilience, and indomitable spirit that defined their pursuit of justice and protection in the unforgiving vastness of space.
Legacy and Continuity: Late 2952

In the latter part of 2952, after enduring the passage of time and the somber passing of the Mining Corps leader, Silver Gunner, a new chapter unfolded for Crimson Squadron. Silver’s legacy found continuity through his son, Rally. Despite the sorrowful void left by Silver’s departure, Rally emerged as a beacon of promise, displaying leadership qualities that extended beyond merely sustaining the Mining Corp. Rally exhibited a unique prowess to not only fund the organization but also to actively contribute by gathering crucial building materials for the burgeoning Construction Corp.

Rally’s Vision for Expansion:

Rally’s leadership demonstrated a multifaceted approach, envisioning a Crimson Squadron that surpassed its current bounds. The Mining Corp, under Rally’s guidance, became not just a source of financial stability but a vital asset in procuring the necessary resources for the expansive ambitions of the Construction Corp. Rally’s strategic foresight and commitment to furthering Crimson Squadron’s reach fueled a sense of optimism and purpose within the organization.

Contribution to Construction Corp:

Rally’s efforts went beyond the immediate concerns of mining and resource collection. His dedication and strategic acumen proved instrumental in supplying the Construction Corp with the essential building materials required for the continual expansion of Crimson Squadron. This symbiotic relationship between the Mining Corp, led by Rally, and the Construction Corp became a testament to the organization’s holistic approach to growth and development.

The Ever-Growing Crimson Squadron:

As Rally stepped into his role with determination, the Mining Corp not only served as a financial pillar but evolved into a vital contributor to the infrastructural development of Crimson Squadron. The collaborative efforts between Rally, the Mining Corp, and the Construction Corp reflected a united front, propelling the organization into a future of ever-expanding horizons.

In the face of loss, Rally’s emergence as a capable leader not only honored the memory of his father but also set the stage for a dynamic and flourishing era in the annals of Crimson Squadron’s history. The late months of 2952 marked not just a continuation but a transformative phase, where the legacy of the past blended seamlessly with the aspirations for a vibrant and expansive future.
Unexpected Call to Duty: Operation Hillcrest

Amidst the serene relaxation of New Babbage Spa and Resort, Commander Jack of Crimson Squadron finds the tranquility shattered by a communication from the UEE. The missive, bearing urgency and gravity, outlines a clandestine drug operation nestled in the hills of Calliope, perilously close to the Microtech base of operations. The UEE, grappling with stretched resources due to illegal blockades around deep space mining platforms, implores Crimson Squadron’s assistance in dismantling this illicit enterprise.

The transmission, signed by UEE Officer Steinbeck Thorain, reveals a dual mission: to capture and eliminate all contraband within the facility and secure the spoils for transport back to Port Treseller. The Commander’s discontent at the interruption is palpable, but duty calls, and Jack rallies his team for the impending mission.

Amidst a backdrop of discontent and interrupted leisure, Jack emerges from the luxurious confines of a hot tub, finding Ruby already preparing for the task at hand. Their determined expressions communicate the gravity of the situation to the members of Crimson Squadron, who, though begrudgingly interrupted in their various diversions, recognize the importance of the mission.

Rally, reluctantly dismounting his inflatable rubber duck, and Soul, pausing his anticipated game of Polo with the squadron, join the ranks. The discontent is palpable, yet the seasoned members of Crimson know duty supersedes personal plans.

As the squad assembles, the air is charged with a mix of frustration and readiness. Jack and Ruby lead the preparations, ensuring Crimson Squadron is fully armed and equipped for the upcoming mission. Decked out Centurions and air superiority fighters stand ready, a formidable force poised to descend upon the hills of Calliope.

The echoes of happy moments at the spa are momentarily set aside as Crimson Squadron readies itself for Operation Hillcrest. The tranquil vacation interlude transforms into a mission of significance, with the fate of a hidden drug operation hanging in the balance. The call to duty resonates, and as the squadron gears up, they brace for the challenges that await them in the shadows of Calliope.
Operation Hillcrest: Skirmish in the Shadows

As the Crimson Squadron descended upon the outskirts of the Calliope Facility, a clandestine drug production site, the team swiftly organized into two distinct forces. The air wing, under the command of Major Soul, comprised a formidable fleet of air superiority fighters, poised for aerial dominance. Simultaneously, the ground army, led by Commander JackTheRogue, brought the firepower of Centurions for anti-air coverage, securely housed within Ruby’s Hercules.

The tranquility of the Calliope hills was shattered when the team encountered Skunkworks, a mercenary organization intent on seizing the illicit drugs for personal gain. The air battle erupted, with Major Soul’s squadron taking to the skies. Meanwhile, Jack and Hopeless were deployed on the ground in their Centurions, providing crucial support against the mercenary onslaught.

The skirmish was fierce, with Crimson Squadron displaying tactical prowess, suppressing enemy forces and maintaining air superiority. However, relentless reinforcements from Skunkworks pushed the air team to evacuate for their safety, leaving the ground team to press on in their slow advance towards the drug production facility.

While making their way closer to the facility, the ground team faced challenges, engaging and successfully taking down patrol ships. However, the intensity of the conflict forced them to abandon their Centurions just before they detonated. Undeterred, the team spotted an enemy-manned Centurion, infiltrated the vehicle, eliminated the driver, and seized control. This unexpected turn of events allowed them to neutralize an enemy Sabre before initiating a warp back to their medical facility, narrowly evading the impending explosion.

Returning to the field later, the team encountered a lightly defended facility. With strategic precision, they successfully claimed and defended the site against incoming enemy ships. The cargo, now secured, was destined for Port Treseller, marking the completion of Operation Hillcrest and a victory for Crimson Squadron. Their resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to the mission were once again demonstrated, solidifying their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the persistent shadows of the verse.

Ruby’s Mole, crippled by the damage sustained, faced a critical failure of its power plant mid-quantum jump, leaving her stranded and in need of rescue.

In a display of swift response and camaraderie, Lt Gen Narrator took charge of the situation. Piloting his trusty Cutlass Red, he soared into action, reaching out to pluck the stranded team from the cold void of space. The successful rescue mission not only showcased Crimson Dynamics’ commitment to its members but also added an unexpected twist to Rally’s birthday celebration – a tale of challenges met and conquered under the vast expanse of the stars.
The Silhouetted Weapon Unveiled: A Crimson Marvel in the Making

Onboard the sleek and newly acquired C1 Spirit, Commander JackTheRogue, Vice Commander Rally, and Ruby embarked on a clandestine journey to a covert manufacturing facility concealed within the classified depths of REDACTED.

The purpose of their visit was none other than to witness firsthand the fruition of a secret project orchestrated in collaboration with Aegis Dynamics, a trusted ship manufacturer known for supplying Crimson Dynamics with superior weaponry and fighter systems in the past. As they stepped into the facility, anticipation hung in the air, and their gaze fixated on the enigmatic silhouette taking shape along the production line.

Their contact, the lead of the Aegis project, joined them in the room, inquiring if the progress met their satisfaction. Ruby, with a nod of approval, sought to know when this marvel would be ready for a test run. The lead, sporting a confident grin, assured them, “Very soon.” The trio exchanged smiles, realizing that once this project reached completion, it would be a formidable force to be reckoned with, a testament to Crimson Dynamics’ commitment to cutting-edge innovation.

Exiting the facility, the trio soared back home to Microtech, a sense of excitement and anticipation lingering throughout the journey. Envisioning the limitless possibilities and contemplating the strategic applications of their new creation, they were keenly aware that the world and its adversaries were on the brink of witnessing the fearsome prowess of Crimson Dynamics. The stage was set for a new era of dominance in the vast expanse of the cosmos.
