History

Company History

Our humble beginnings started in 2944, working out of a rented hanger on the planet Arcorp.
In 2945 our organisation was formalised and registered with the UEE.
From then on, we never looked back. We started building up our digital media, to make ourselves known to the rest of the galaxy.

One of the key decisions in the early days was not to solely rely on third parties.
With the few ships that we had, we invested heavily in R&D to bring on-board our ships bespoke A.I. systems.
E.M.I.L.I. (Electronic Multi-function Interactive Living Interface) project was born.
This project turned out to be one of the key factors to running our ships more efficiently.

Our workload increased to the point where we appointed a director specifically for administration and logistics.

We had enough expertise within the company to start various other programs.
Extensive star system research was carried out for the development strategy of exploration and trading.
Alien research was also important, to assist in the opening up of new trade opportunities.
A Stella Cartography department was set up to map jump points and update jump point information.

With more orders coming in we were able to purchase a variety of ships for different tasks.
It soon became apparent that training was required as a prequel to another plan we had in mind.
Joint fleet manoeuvres were carried out to celebrate Desperate Measures Organisations 1st Anniversary,
but also as a feasibility study into setting up an armed escort division.
Our fleet continued to grow throughout 2046. This is when we started our search for new premises.

Porsha D. Dog, who was responsible for moral in the company, was given an honorary membership and made the organisations official mascot.
At the end of 2947 a new weapons research department was opened to support the Armed Escort division.

in 2048 the company had now clearly defined what services it would offer. 1. Freight Transportation. 2. Science and Exploration. 3. Security Services. Each branch supported and complemented the other.

Our final icing on the cake in 2948 was a move (18 months in the planning) to a new headquarters.
We also received the accolade of being in the top 100 organisations for the most pro active organisation from over 56,000 space related company’s surveyed.

Due to a devastating virus that swept across the galaxy from Earth in 2050, many operations had to be temporarily suspended to help reduce the spread of the virus. This was followed by a period of limited activity. As our company name suggests, desperate measures were put in place to counter this problem.

In 2050 some of our back order new ships arrived and have proven to be a great asset to the company.

At the latter part of 2951, and having already purchased medical ships, we started preparations for a medical support division.

Manifesto

The Galaxy is a cold dark place with all sorts of nasty creepy crawly things. There are however pockets of light, where various lifeforms huddle together for warmth, shelter and protection. Some of these lifeforms are more adventurous and they have decided to leave their safe havens to explore, trade and generally clutter up uninhabited areas of space.

Who we Are

The Desperate Measures Organisation was set up for like minded people to fulfil their destiny in the galaxy, through a variety of activities. Unfortunately this means that you will spend most of your time in the cold dark part of space. ARE YOU UP TO THE CHALLENGE?
We are a friendly Organisation who’s emphasis is of having fun.

What we do
