Welcome Starfarers!
We are a loosely formed group of Vikings who have kept their traditions alive while adapting to the new Age.
We fly our Spaceboats, explore, drink, fight, trade, conquer, pillage and sell our swords to the best paying customer… just like back in the good old days.
The history of Vikings reaches back to the year 700 A.D.
On Runestones from the 11th century, the word ‘Viking’ was used synonymously with the word ‘Drengr’: Brave and honourable Man.
What most humans know of these Warriors, are the great raids and battles they undertook. What most don’t know, is what lead to these raids, and what happend later and aside from them.
In the beginning, the raids where simply a form of survival in the harsh country they lived in. Later the reason was to gain land and wealth, and even just because it could be done.
These raids had not been possible, had not brave men and women set out to discover and explore what they could find out there. Bartering, trading and discovering new technologies unknown to most, great wealth was aquired that allowed to raise whole armys.
All this had not been possible without the Ships. The ships where the key to everything from trade to raid.
During the course of time, humanity changed and evolved, but the word Drengr never lost it’s meaning.
We still crew our ships to discover what’s out there, and use any means necessary to survive in the vast and unforgiving space surrounding us.
We live by our old ways, but adapted to the new age.
Our Axes are now accompanied by Blasters, and our Shields are no longer made of wood but of plasma.
We still trade, conquer, drink, explore, and praise our fathers and sing their tales.
We still fight for survival, and stand united and strong against all foes.
The Drengir intention is to explore, trade and fight in the ‘verse, and basically cover every aspect possbile.
