2917 – Jak “Mavryk” Dark-Haven and Tyde Pesniwa enlist in UEE Flight school. The two of them became fast friends, and their teamwork together helped them rise up to the top of the class. Upon graduation, they were both given the rank of Lieutenant 2nd Class and assigned to two different squadrons. They bounced communications between each other, but they were few and far between as their duties took them in different directions. Over the next decade, both Mavryk and Tyde move from assignment to assignment.
2927 – Mavryk is promoted to Captain and is reassigned to the prestigious Squadron 42 as wingman to Capt. Arthur “Hurricane” Williams.
2930 – During a covert mission in Vulture system, Capt. Williams is killed in action. With recommendations from Capt. Dark-Haven, Tyde Pesniwa is promoted and reassigned to Squadron 42 to be Mavryk’s wingman. After years of successful operations together, both Capt Dark-Haven and Capt Pesniwa are promoted up the ladder until 2939 when Dark-Haven retires from active service as Lieutenant Colonel.
2945 – Lieutenant Colonel Pesniwa, after twenty eight years of service in the UEE Military, retires with full honors. Tyde finds Dark-Haven running trade convoy on the edge of Banu space in his private MerchantMan transport ship, and joins his friend in his venture.
2946 – During a trade convoy along Keller’s run, Tyde responds to an emergency signal broadcast by a trader under attack near the Fora System, a system known as a haven for piracy. After saving the poor trader, Tyde recognizes the potentially lucrative business opportunity, and convinces Mavryk that they should branch out a provide protection for transport ships in the south-west of UEE space. Together they form Dark Echelon, a Private Military contractor based out of Saisei in the Centauri system, that provides protection against piracy and the looming Vanduul threat in that area.
The Dark Echelon community has been formed around the ideal of having a solid group of friendly gamers to play Star Citizen with from around the world. Our dream is to give our members a warm and fun place to relax, to escape the real world, within the ‘verse of Star Citizen. While we do have some restrictions within our group to ensure a we create the environment we envision, we strive to allow our members to enjoy themselves in any way they can as long as it does not reflect poorly on our own guild, or cause unwanted consequences for other members. We hope to accommodate our members with any path they decide to embark on (except those like piracy), and we have low expectations on how active you are within the community. As long as you are around some of the time, and participate with the rest of the community that you chose to join, then you can play for only couple hours a week or eight hours a day and still have a fun group to be apart of.
In game, while we are unsure of what goals we can aim for at this time, we do want to acquire, run and maintain an organization starbase and/or multiple capital ships within the persistent universe. While we will primarily focus on building and expanding our organizations role within the games persistent universe, we also plan to have our own private server for our members to have fun with as a side thing as a way to do things within the game without disrupting or causing negative consequences for those in the P.U.
We are a light Roleplaying organization, as a way to build and strengthen our community prior and post to the games launch. We have found that by running roleplaying within our community, it gives members something to do to encourage frequent visits to our forums, plus it creates a level of familiarity between our members as they interact outside of the game.
