Humble Beginnings
Echelon Mercenary Forces & Security was founded by Ileana Usuni and a privateer, call sign RE_Abraxus in the year 2949. As a member of the Bremen Defense Force, Ileana gained valuable experience during her service. She saw a need for other areas of space that the UEE could not adequately protect or service. With the MMI (Militia Mobilization Initiative) in full swing, Militias and PMC’s could be properly armed to defend areas of space. Utilizing the CDF (Civilian Defense Force) as a means to properly train pilots and mercenaries. She partnered with a long time friend who had combat experience during the Vega Incursion by the Vanduul. Ileana using her connections could source valuable ships and weapons for the PMC. EMFS got it’s first contract in the Tohil System by wealthy tourists who wanted to settle the system but didn’t quite have the pull to acquire UEE protection. With this contract, EMFS began running patrols and escorts around Tohil III in order to reduce smugglers and would be outlaws from interfering with the tourists. Setting up a more permanent base in the Tohil Belt Alpha asteroid belt, EMFS began full operation in the area.
Full Operation
With the cold war between humanity and the Xi’an over, the heavily sensored jump points in the Tohil system that lead to the Virtus and Nyx systems has allowed it to grow. Now becoming a main thorough lane for trade between humanity and the Xi’an. EMFS has become one of the main security forces in the area leading escorts and security for credits upon planned arrivals. Expanding the growth of the company led to friction with fringe outlaws near Tohil IV. Now unable to wreak havoc on tourists or cargo haulers at will; criminals openly engage EMFS whenever they come across one another. With security and safety higher in the area, even EMFS has entered the civilian cargo hauling and even medical fields. Hauling more valuable cargo to different systems and providing medical rescue and aid to less than lawful areas. As the company continued to grow, mega corporations began to hire more and more PMC’s to do the fighting for them. Without the need to expend their own forces, they can achieve acceptable results with elite mercs such as EMFS.
Expansion of Operations
EMFS is headquartered in Tohil, with regional headquarters in Stanton, Terra, Nyx, and Virtus. Going from system to system providing necessary aid as well as cargo hauling. EMFS still maintains its mercenary nature by doing contracts for mega corporations or very wealthy private citizens. After setting up a headquarters in Stanton; EMFS has engaged in hostile skirmishes with the Nine Tails gang during their attempts to take over Port Orison on Crusader as well as the Xeno Threat Terrorist organization during their attempts to blockade Cru L4 station Shallow Fields. With regular conflict with pirates and other criminal entities in the Staton system, EMFS regularly trains with other PMC’s to keep their skills in top notch and remain a premier elite merc force.

If you like what you see and wish to become an active member of the organization, there are many paths for you to take even if you decide that PvP is not for you.

Adapt to the situation, find a solution, provide action towards the resolution. Task force members will encounter failure, setbacks, and obstacles. To continue to fight towards the end goal for the better of themselves or the Task Force as a whole is the type of mercs we are.
Echelon-296 understands the law is meant for stability of the system but we will operate below or above the law for the type of contract we have accepted.
Upon joining the Task force you’ll be tested to see where your level of experience in Star Citizen and gaming as whole is at. You will be helped along in gaining skills you need to join the PvP focused groups. If you don’t wish to take part in the PvP focused groups you can still join the org as one of the myriad of support roles.
Star Citizen is still under development and there will be bugs or issues that will break group gameplay or community events. While it is frustrating it is not unexpected. Please bear that in mind. Many planned/existing features are subject to change until the game is finalized. Echelon-296 will not develop plans for potential gameplay, but will keep up to date with current patches.

Combat
Echolon-296 Combat Groups
Combat Groups are primarily focused on group or org wide PvP with the idea of training and getting all members ready for the wider PU as well as increasing all skill levels. Once server meshing/PES is added to the game, the number of players will increase and Echelon will be ready.
Role Breakdowns
Echelon-Dragon
Captain of a multicrew ship. Dragon's purpose is to bring in large ships for ground/space support. These combat groups share teamwork experiences. However, these groups require attendance and training.
Echelon-Raven
Close air support or Dog fighting. This combat role is for solo players who act as part of a larger squadron. This role requires some training.
Echelon-Grizzly
Ground support and ground combat. This role is to attack via ground vehicles such as the Nova Tank or Ballista/Centurion. Bear provides AA support or heavy ground support. This role requires some training.
Echelon-Ghost
E.V.A. and ground operations. This role is primarily for solo players with little to no support. Intended to harass and pick off priority targets at long range or stealth. This role requires some training.

Echelon-296 Logistics arranges different activities for all of the non-combat roles for the org. This includes, mining, medical, cargo, and salvage.
