Exile Intergalactic Company / EICTRADE

Officially established 2547, not long after the formation of the UEE, the EIC (then Empire Intergalactic Company) originated as a collective of traders seeking to create faster, more efficient, and safer trade routes between star systems. The undertaking proved prosperous for all parties and for over 200 years the EIC maintained the most traveled trade routes in the Galaxy.

Then in 2762, with the threat of impending war against the Xi’An, the UEE withdrew its military support of the EIC trade routes in order to fortify strategic military positions. By early 2764 the once profitable Empire Intergalactic Trade Company had been reduced to a shadow of its former self. No longer profitable the remaining members of the EIC dug deep into their own pockets to keep goods flowing along the routes but it would prove to be too much.

In 2765 a band of pirates, seeing how weak and fragile the EIC had become, attacked the remaining EIC warehouses and plundered nearly all remaining goods. The attacks were carried out with such speed and efficiency the EIC had no chance to defend themselves. The pirates’ final assault on the EIC headquarters was swift and lethal. Broken and defeated the last members of the EIC were given the choice: be cast out into space with nothing to die slowly or be executed on the spot. Most, in their cowardice, chose to be cast out with dim hopes they would be rescued but the last among them made his own choice. He made the pirates an offer.

He told them he could make them rich, feared, and powerful. He told them they could run free in the galaxy to kill and steal as they saw fit. He made them an offer they could not refuse. Seemingly overnight the Empire Intergalactic warehouses were re-purposed. The headquarters re-branded and the routes re-opened. The UEE sponsored EIC was no more and so was born the new EIC, the Exile Intergalactic Company.

Functioning now, without UEE rules and regulations, the EIC is more profitable than ever. Trade flows swiftly and securely along the pirate controlled routes and exotic goods, both legitimate and illicit, make their way across the galaxy to a wide variety of destinations.

The past may be troubled but the future is bright for the Exile Intergalactic Trading Company!
