Origins
Epitaph traces its roots to the late 28th century, during a period of turbulence following the collapse of the Messer regime. As the UEE restructured, entire sectors were left under-patrolled and vulnerable. Corporate conglomerates and frontier settlements alike turned to private entities for protection and stability. Among these, a coalition of discharged UEE Navy officers and frontier law enforcers founded Epitaph Security Concern—an early iteration of what would become Frontier Solutions.
Their first contracts focused on escorting convoys through volatile jump routes and securing fledgling colonies on the edges of the Stanton, Ferron, and Nexus systems. Their disciplined, almost paramilitary style quickly set them apart from less reputable private outfits of the era.
Transition to Corporate Identity
By the early 29th century, Epitaph had evolved from a loose collection of ex-servicemen into a structured corporate entity. Under the leadership of Director Taron Veyne, the organization shifted from ad-hoc security jobs to long-term stability contracts, branding itself not only as muscle-for-hire, but as a solutions provider for the frontier.
It was during this time that the motto “Order at the Edge” was adopted, reflecting the group’s dual identity: the grit of frontier marshals fused with the efficiency of corporate governance.
Modern Era
Today, Epitaph: Frontier Solutions operates across multiple UEE-adjacent systems, with established outposts in Stanton, Pyro-adjacent trade routes, and exploratory assets pushing deeper into the frontier.
Though the UEE remains the ultimate authority, the realities of interstellar governance leave vast stretches of space in a power vacuum. Epitaph fills that gap—balancing contracts with megacorps, independent haulers, and planetary governments, while also working to ensure its presence strengthens frontier communities rather than exploits them.
This delicate balance has cemented Epitaph’s reputation as one of the few paramilitary corporations trusted both by clients in glass towers and settlers in dust-strewn outposts.
