May 2944

The site of our organization is updated to improve our public awareness. Furthermore the bureaucrats finally made it possible for Citizens to join multiple organizations. Sadly the bureaucracy still hinders Citizen and thereby interest groups like us to flourish by limiting Citizens to one main organization. Only in this organization Citizens can have ranks and roles. This means that a Citizen can only found one organization, even if that is just a one man organization, and is then hindered to join a larger organization as full-time member, so long the Citizen doesn’t disband the founded organization.

January 2944

Our leader founds the Free Trader Organization on Terra to give the free traders in the UEE and beyond a sound voice. On his private site he announced: “Especially the increasing amount of pirate activity on important trade routes and the lack of interest from the authorities is a major issue. The Free Trader Organization is the answer to it. Not by lethal force but by intelligent lobbyism and advocating for the cause of the free traders. With an ever-growing member base this organization will become an important factor in elections and trading in general.”

December 2943

A first prototype of the new system is presented at time for Christmas. The press and developers are astouned and some big companies are willing to support the development of the new system independent from the UEE control. The security aspect even attracts pirate and mercenary organizations as they don’t want their decisions on blockades or raids publicized before the actual action.

October 2943

Our leader speaks on a ceremonial on Earth for 998 years end of World War II. The leaders of all Earth countries and the UEE are at the ceremonial. It is sent live as a feed so that everyone can watch it on the private MobiGlas. On this event our leader stresses the importance of freedom and free trading in specific.

August 2943

Our leader visits the greatest MobiGlas developer conference of the UEE on Terra and presents his ideas for a revolutionary system allowing members of organizations of any kind to vote on urgent matters of the organization. This system works decentralized and uses the existing infrastructure of communitation for transmitting the votes. The vote gets encrypted with state-of-the-art cryptographic algorithms. Encrypted it is then sent to the next collecting station. From each comm station to the next it is additionally encrypted so that the chance of getting the real encrypted vote is even lower.

The collecting stations pack all received votes (in encrypted form) up in a package which gets encrypted and then sent onto the main server on Terra. This server is the only place where the original votes are decrypted completely and counted. The result is sent immediately to the organization leader of the affected organization. This allows quick decisions without personal meetings while securing the decision process from potential enemies.

This idea receives the second prize in the community vote for The Next Great Idea.

Manifesto

Objective

We want to represent the free traders of the Verse. We want to give them a sound voice that is strong enough for a fair representation towards large and strong organizations that are tightly grouped. Tightly grouped organizations are those that require regular meetings and/or regular communication with other members.

Advantages

By speaking with one voice the Free trader organization will be able to broker deals in favor of their members. These deals can contain valuable trade deals that will only be available to members of this organization.

Furthermore we seek to constantly enable free trading and remove any obstacles. This means we will stand up to free trading lines and we will fight piracy and other threats, so long they threaten our member’s work.

Opportunities

You can be a simple member eligible to vote on all-organization matters (POV towards major events like blockades, bounties, pirate threats, etc.) or you can decide to join us as your primary focus. If you decide for the latter you can rank up and eventually become a staff member busy with organizing press reports and general public relations.

We have a few rules you must apply to:

We are an interest group

We represent the free traders and their interests. We will enforce the interests of free traders and will stand in for free supply lines. But we will not actively attack any other organization that does not interfere with free traders.

Don’t attack other members

We enforce a strict no attack policy towards other members of the organization. If such an attack happens and we are informed, we will exclude the attacker from our organization.

What is the purpose?

As we are an interest group, we can voice our opinion with one voice. Instead of 100 people with one opinion, we will have one opinion supported by 100 people. That way we can gain more momentum towards other corporations and organizations.

No regular sessions

We don’t require any regular meetings. You can trade and do whatever you do.

No communication required

As a member you don’t need to communicate with anyone of us. By joining you just show that you want to be represented by us and that we are allowed to speak in your name regarding trading issues.
