We welcome your interest in the Giraffe Knights. We’re a collection of individuals that strike out into the stars looking for adventure and glory. Our goal is to make the universe safe for those individuals that cannot defend themselves, and we welcome all those of like mind, no matter their skill.
History
In Russia, on November 11, 2002, a small Canadian specialist force was deployed into Georgia. Their mission was to aid the country in a fight against a rebel insurgency threatening regional stability. This rebellion ended up being a small part of a growing international incident. The mission kept expanding and eventually lead to this team seeing action in Rēzekne, Latvia, Utena, Lithuania, Murmansk, Arkhangel’sk and finally Moscow.
While their mission kept spiraling and expanding this team grew closer and formed an inseparable bond. By the time that they were ending the Ultra-nationalist conflict in Red Square, they had already taken on the moniker Giraffe Knights. The bond formed between the founding members, Aven Kratar, MrPanicy, and TopSpec, was forged in the heat of battle and baptized in the blood of the villainous.
Their core tenants revolve around remaining conflict neutral, and choosing the moral path rather than the profitable one. To be were the innocent need them, and to assist in whatever way they can. Whether it be a hand to raise them up, a shield to protect them or a sword of vengeance to ensure their safety forever.
Following this simple mission statement the Giraffe Knights saw action in a variety of roles; Anti-terrorism, expeditionary missions, quick reaction forces, reconnaissance, in a variety of locales; Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Croatia, France, Greece, Mexico, Russia, United States, and many others. Meeting with nothing but complete and utter success.
During these many missions and campaigns their ranks slowly began to swell. Notable members such as Killing Idols, T To Its Magee, Wiezzenger, WorkdayLobster, joined the ranks. These new additions provided additional skill set diversity and allowed the Giraffe Knights to tackle even more difficult situations in missions previously outside their ken.
As centuries rolled by the Giraffe Knights adapted to all theatres of battle. Now they face threats in sky and space, on land and sea. Always staying true to who they are. Defending the meek from the wicked, shining a bright light on all that is dark and evil in the known galaxy. Striking fear into the corrupt and vulgar hearts of all the unjust inhabitants of the spaceways with just their name, Giraffe Knights.
Manifesto
We are a non-profit paramilitary organization that strives to do what is best for people and society both as a whole and on an individual level. We strike out into the vast unknown of space, not for profit but for the honour of serving the innocent and disadvantaged of our great universe. We stand against all forms of slavery, piracy, and corruption. Seeking to excise it from the galaxy wherever it rears it’s ugly head.
As far as cooperation and organization each member owes fealty to the Primarch, but should make decisions based on morality and civility on an individual level. They weigh their vows against every action they take and strive to do good no matter the personal cost. Occasionally you will be called into service of the Giraffe Knights Navy to join together for a mighty crusade against a persistent foe. On these occasions, when pressed into military service, you will be expected to act with great cohesion and to be fully focused on our united goal.
During all other periods of time you will be free to do whatever you wish in the universe. You may join as many other groups as you desire. We expect only that no matter what else you do, you stay true to your vows and answer our summons if a mighty crusade is convened.
Charter
After a period of training and testing, having proved themselves worthy both in battle and in the service of those in need, a Squire will be presented to the Masters council for evaluation and the saying of vows.
These vows reveal the core of the Giraffe Knight thinking.
I here swear;
to ever be a good knight and true,
reverent and generous,
shield to the weak,
obedient to my superiors,
foremost in battle,
courteous at all times,
champion of the right and the good.
Thus I, [NAME], swear.
