History

Backstory of the Phoenix Initiative

Origin:
Threshold—known by allies as GRACE—was born in the aftermath of tragedy. Founded by Maya Zheng, a former combat medic and engineer, GRACE began as a one-woman mission of mercy after a pirate ambush left a civilian convoy helpless. That crisis lit a fire in Maya’s soul: never again would she let people die for lack of aid.

Armed with a modest severance and a salvaged repair vessel, she patrolled alone at first, responding to distress beacons, reviving the fallen, and patching hulls in the dark. Her drive, compassion, and refusal to turn away grew into something greater: a collective. A creed. A movement.

Focus and Role:
GRACE is a support-class organization, dedicated to healing, building, and restoring. We are not front-line aggressors—we are the backbone of survival.

Core Gameplay Loops:

  • Repair & Technical Support: Operating multi-role ships like the RSI Polaris and Argo SRV, GRACE specializes in keeping allied fleets operational. We focus on anti-gunship and anti-bomber suppression, power disruption, and field repairs.
  • Medical Assistance: Trained combat medics deploy planetside and in high-risk areas to revive, stabilize, and extract. If someone falls, we get them back on their feet.
  • Crafting & Basebuilding: As future systems open, we will become a cornerstone of construction—fabricating, assembling, and maintaining outposts and industrial sites.
  • Resource Collection (Future): We will engage in selective mining and refining to fuel our manufacturing chains and support local economies.

What We Are Not:

  • Dedicated Combatants
  • Salvagers
  • Haulers

No gameplay loop is forbidden—but members should understand GRACE centers on sustainment, support, and stability above all.

Alliance and Purpose:
GRACE operates as a neutral aid-focused organization and is proudly partnered with the Eridanus Ascendancy, acting as their primary support wing. While we remain independent, we default to flying alongside Eridanus in both combat and exploration zones, strengthening shared goals of security, resilience, and collaboration.

Modern Day:
Today, Threshold is a well-organized, cross-system presence with a sharp focus and a big heart. Our signature colors, matte black on white, with crimson highlights reflect clarity of mission and loyalty to the cause.

We excel in:

  • Fleet Support: Active service aboard Polaris-class vessels and combat-interdiction via Scorpius Antares.
  • Field Medicine: Professional, experienced combat medics, trained in both triage and extraction.
  • Construction & Crafting: Future-oriented production lines for essential supplies and base construction.

Uniform and Livery Protocol

Purpose:
This protocol ensures consistent, recognizable attire and vehicle markings during official operations, while allowing flexibility in less critical scenarios.

—-

Uniform Protocol:

1. Funding and Distribution:

* Uniforms are funded by Threshold and issued to members upon joining.

2. Usage Requirements:

* Critical Situations: Uniforms are mandatory when rapid identification is essential (rescues, medical operations, fleet deployments) to prevent friendly fire and streamline coordination. * Organization Events: Uniforms are also required during official meetings and functions, upholding unity and professionalism.

3. Design and Appearance:

* Colors: Matte black on white or red. * Accessories: Members can personalize uniforms with approved patches or gear, provided these do not hinder safety or identification.

—-

Livery Protocol:

1. Funding and Requirements:

* Ship and vehicle liveries are not funded by the Threshold and are not obligatory.

2. Recommended Colors:

* Flagship: White. * Other Vessels: Black.

3. Custom Livery:

* Members are encouraged to tailor their ships and vehicles to reflect the Threshold’s spirit of resilience, innovation, and support, while maintaining recognizable organization markings where required.

Manifesto

Straight Up Just Threshold Manifesto

Threshold exists because someone has to. In the vast, unforgiving expanse of the ‘verse—where fortunes are made in the blink of a quantum jump and lost just as quickly—most organizations chase glory, dominance, or the next big score. We don’t. We are the gap. The quiet backbone. The ones who step forward when the flash and fury fade and the real work begins. Not to become the biggest fleet or the most feared name across Stanton or Pyro, but to be the organization you are genuinely glad to see when things go sideways. When your hull is venting atmosphere, your cargo is drifting in the black, or your crew is scattered and injured after a mission gone wrong—we show up. And we make it better.

We are self-sufficient support specialists who exist to help others accomplish their goals. Builders, engineers, medics, logisticians, and pilots who thrive in the roles that others overlook or outright avoid. Need an SRV to tow a crippled wreck back from a derelict field? A Gemini or Starfarer to keep your operation fueled deep in the shadow of a remote moon? An Ironclad hammering away at repairs, rearming your fighters mid-skirmish, or serving as a mobile forward base? We’ve got you. Our Polaris medical clinics don’t just patch people up—they become on-site sanctuaries where injuries are treated, morale is restored, and crews can regroup without limping all the way back to a major station. Whether it’s running logistics while you craft components for that next big build, ferrying supplies to your fledgling outpost on a hostile rock, or simply being the steady hand that keeps the mission alive—we do it happily, without hesitation.

We don’t ask if it’s glamorous. We don’t ask if it’s “worth our time.” That’s not what we do. We answer the call because the ‘verse only works when someone keeps the lights on, the tanks full, and the wounded breathing. Combat support, deep-space salvage coordination, emergency resupply runs through contested space—we fill every need that keeps larger operations moving forward. While others chase dogfights and headlines, we ensure the infrastructure of victory exists in the first place.

Threshold is not a casual org pretending to be serious, nor a grim serious org that has forgotten how to be human. We are selective, competent, and relentlessly present. Our members are skilled professionals who value reliability over bravado, camaraderie over hierarchy, and results over ego. If you’re in, you’re in—trusted, equipped, and part of a crew that has your back no matter how deep the black gets. If you’re not sure yet, stick around and find out. We don’t recruit with hype. We recruit with consistency.

We are Straight Up Just Threshold. The precipice calls—and we are already there, tools in hand, engines warm, ready to bridge the distance between ambition and achievement.

Welcome to the gap. Welcome to the support that never quits.

Charter

Code of General Ethics and Conduct

Purpose:

This code defines the standards of behavior expected of every Threshold (GRACE) member — grounded in respect, professionalism, and the mutual trust that makes us effective.

Leadership:

Founder and Leader: Maya Zheng (Enigmagic)
Deputy Commanders: UntameGoddess, Blazing Confetti

Core Standards:

1. Respect and Dignity

Treat all members, allies, and those we serve with respect and empathy, regardless of affiliation, rank, background, or identity. Any member who deliberately targets another with harassment, mockery, or behavior intended to cause distress — including conduct directed at someone’s gender identity — will be removed from the organization and all associated platforms immediately and without appeal. You do not have to understand someone to treat them with basic decency. That is the floor, not the ceiling.

2. Professional Conduct

Keep communications clear and composed, especially during operations where tensions run high. Hostility, derisive remarks, and disruptive behavior undermine the mission and will not be tolerated.

3. Integrity

Be honest in all dealings — mission reporting, resource management, and conduct toward others. Deliberate misinformation or falsification is grounds for immediate disciplinary action.

4. Teamwork

We operate as a unit. Prioritize collaboration, support your teammates, and leave personal conflicts at the door. Infighting costs lives and credibility.

5. Non-Discrimination

The Phoenix Initiative does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity, orientation, or any other personal characteristic. Bullying or exclusionary behavior will be met with immediate action.

Rank and Promotion:

Ranks are assigned based on merit, tenure, and demonstrated leadership. Promotions require consistent performance, reliability, and a genuine commitment to the Initiative’s mission. Tenure is considered — merit decides.

Disciplinary Actions:

Minor offenses (tardiness, missed non-critical protocols) result in a warning or temporary suspension from operations. Major offenses — including insubordination, endangering others, discriminatory behavior, or deliberate targeted harassment — carry consequences ranging from demotion to permanent removal, depending on severity.
All misconduct is reviewed by a committee of senior members, and the accused is given the opportunity to present their account. Members removed for targeted harassment or hate-based conduct are not eligible for reinstatement.

By joining the Threshold, you agree to uphold these standards — not because you are required to, but because you understand that our strength comes from the safety and trust we build together.
