GreyHat Enterprises
Private Military Contractor

History

GreyHat was founded on the premise that a truly operational business model would be to craft nothing, steal everything, and then sell it at a marked up price. The model emerged from the original crew who spent months mining a floating hunk of rock only to salvage an adrift Coni in a couple of hours, yielding more income than all the time spent on the asteroid. The founding fathers, only 7 of whom still remain, fragmented into the various aspects of the Enterprise each feeding “the machine” in their own way. The corporation has since become all three aspects of the moto, part crafting, part theft, and part sales to form the complete and balanced entity that exists today. Of the original 10 fathers, 3 died to unknown circumstances after meetings at odds with fitting into one of the 3 veins for the company’s arterial direction—to gain as many credits as fast as possible.

Core Values

Below are the Core Values for GreyHat Enterprises. We are looking for like-minded individuals to join our PMC and share in the benefits of a tight-knit team. Individuals looking to join our organization should read the Core Values carefully and ensure that they align to their own. Below is also our Code of Conduct; make sure you are able to abide by all the rules or your membership may be brought into question.

Organization First

We expect all members to remember that the organization comes first. All actions taken both inside and outside the game are done in the mindset of ‘Organization first’. Everything a member does reflects on fellow members and the organization as a whole. Organization members understand that sometimes personal character sacrifice is needed for the team to complete a mission.

Person above Character

We are looking for good people, not a ‘character’ that meets a specific set of requirements. We are not looking for immature or selfish players; you may play whatever character you’d like in-game (while respecting ‘Organization First’), but you must be respectful to players both inside and outside the organization at all times. None of your actions in-game should have negative real world consequences.

Participation

Star Citizen may not be structured like a traditional MMO, but there will be numerous opportunities and events in which we will ask for organizational cooperation. You are expected to take place in as many of these events as possible. We understand you have a life outside Star Citizen, but if you are in-game while we are having an organization event, you should make every effort to participate in it.

Leadership and Advancement

When joining GreyHat Enterprises, you will be given a rank based on our evaluation of your ability to lead, while also taking into consideration the roles you are most suited to and the needs of the organization. We are a tight knit organization made up of friends, and as such, we will always seek to promote from within our ranks. Seniority won’t always guarantee promotion, skill is also required, but we will never bring in someone to fill a roll when someone from our ranks is equally qualified. Determination and adherence to our Core Values is also a key factor in obtaining advancement opportunities.

Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct is a set of core rules governing GreyHat Enterprises. These rules are designed to reinforce our core values as an organization, and are used as concrete examples of said values. Failure to adhere to the Code of Conduct will result in review and possible expulsion.

  1. Members may not use cheats or exploits under any circumstances. We are here to play a game and enjoy the challenge, not cheat our way to the top.
  2. Intentional team killing is not permitted. Consensual PvP is encouraged for training purposes, but be ready to put aside scores when it’s time to fight as a team.
  3. Members need to behave in a mature, professional, team focused manner. Selfish and/or immature behavior will not be tolerated.
  4. We are here to play a game and be social, so make friends. Don’t take things too seriously and be prepared for friendly banter.
  5. It is not permitted to relay any information outside the organization, for any reason, at any time.
  6. Actively working against the organization will result in immediate termination.
  7. Backstabbing, looting, stealing from, scamming or otherwise harming other members is not permitted.
  8. Griefing players, both inside and outside the organization, is not permitted. The more people that play the game, the better the experience becomes. Griefing is at odds with this principle.
  9. Your role in the organization may shift based on your interest, the needs of the organization, or other factors, but you are always expected to follow the orders of your superiors. Failure to do so will result in reprimand and possible expulsion as determined by leadership.
  10. If you find issue with one of your commanders, you may bring it to the attention of their CO, and an investigation will be opened up. We are not real world military commanders, and mistakes will be made from time to time. Do not bring up an investigation for one or two failures of leadership. Be prepared to support your disagreement with examples showing a pattern of issues, or a breach of the Code of Conduct.
  11. Members of GreyHat Enterprises cannot be a member of any other organization in StarCitizen. This eliminates possible conflicts of interest and situations in which loyalty to the organization is in question.
  12. Any issues with organization policies should be brought directly to leadership via email. Publically bashing or complaining about the rules is not tolerated.
  13. Personal attacks on other members are not permitted. Handle issues with another player 1 on 1, in a mature and professional way. Seek an officers help if needed but do not personally attack other members.
