“Tenebrae quae Viam Illuminant” “The Darkness That Lights the Way”
Blackstar Solutions Groups is made up of former UEEN veterans, including all types of previous service from the famous Space Marines to the unremarkable Engineers. Founded in the Stanton system in response to a generally uninterested UEE prerogative to protect the now privately owned worlds in the territory Blackstar was founded by Taz Mason after having jumped around from system to system as a private mercenary on his own. After earning some small amount of capital Taz invested in a few ships to get his crew off of the ground (So to speak) and incorporated Blackstar Solutions Groups.
Having seen the quality of work in other merc companies operating the system, Taz realized that there was an issue organizationally with the general quality of mercenaries in the area, as few had any actual military experience higher than a platoon level. Having worked closely with special forces in the UEEN his entire career, BSG takes on the mindset of “Amateurs talk tactics, professionals talk logistics.”.
In this spirit, Blackstar recognizes that not every person in the org is going to be an ace pilot or master tactician. What Blackstar IS looking for is people who are good at what they do; if that means you’re the best quantanium miner in the system, you are on our radar (and not in the same way as these other pirates that masquerade as professional militaries). We’re looking for recruits of all shapes and sizes. The first and foremost thing we are looking for is going to be personality. We’re a small community here, and I’d rather have five good associates than 100 non-starters.
Our history as a community starts now! Let’s fill this section with some most excellent shit!
As stated in the history, the goal of Blackstar Solutions Group is to create a professional military force in the Stanton System that has a modicum of integrity. Our Credo, “Tenebrae quae Viam Illuminant” or “The Darkness that lights the way” is in reference to our nature of secrecy. We are not predictable, but we are good, and we can be trusted. We look for the best people in their discipline, if you’re the fastest and most efficient quantanium miner in the system, you are on our radar (and not for the same reasons as some of these pirate organizations masquerading as a professional fighting force).
The main branches of the organization consist of:
Logistics: This is the bread and butter of everything we do, our logistics officers are the finest in the system. It is the job of our logistics officer to ensure that we have ships ready to go with 1 and 2 scu containers at any given time, either for our own deployment or that paid by a client. The logistics coordinator is here to ensure sales of general goods, outfitting of Blackstar operatives, and to keep a good count of what kinds of tonnage Blackstar can move at any given point in time. Ultimately our logistics officers have the final say on any operational decisions when planning. If they say it can’t be done, then it can’ be done (but its their job to make sure it can be done). You need a secure convoy to help your org move ground vehicles from A to B and deliver them appropriately for your boys – our Logistics officers will make it happen, you need a supply drop in a remote area in BFE we got you covered. You need a pickup and delivery done anonymously we can make that happen (that is extra though cause we’ll need the intel guys for that). This is ultimately the role of our Logistics guys, its not a sexy job – but its the next highest rank this org offers.
Direct Action: These are what our clients come for, masters of strategy and tactics our direct action officers will come with a compliment of 1 fireteam per officer, we’ll expand upon that as we grow. Small unit tactics, precision insertions, observation posts, fleet combat activity, C A S, etc are all part of this officers job. DA officers – you are on notice, it is YOUR job to ensure that your boys get their manifests to the logistics officer as far as what loadouts they expect to have. You will dictate portions of that loadout. If there are administrative items missing on a mission, and you didn’t fill it out on the requisitions form to our logistics team it’s YOUR fault. You will put together ship loadouts for different mission objectives including Harrying operations, Close Air Support, Planetary Assault, Boarding Operations, and hostile extraction. If its a boarding op – you better have cut torches and tractor beams: (see where I am going with this) so set your boys up to succeed and plan this shit right. You get the sexy job, you’re also held to a higher standard. You fill out the form, and numbers and logistics will square you away, if its missing from the loadout its on you.
Finally – to potential recruits, understand that your personality will get you a long way at Blackstar, we’re looking for dedicated, intelligent, and unassuming individuals to fill our ranks. We don’t care if you are on the game 23 hours a day and have concierge status, if you are an asshole and you don’t listen; we don’t have time for you here. Working in a team is difficult, and even moreso when a blacksheep keeps screwing the ops up. Numbers are not our priority, quality is. So don’t be an asshole, and try to look at things from a team perspective. All of the roles in this org are cross-functional, meaning just because it ain’t your job, doesn’t mean you won’t be helping your team in the logistics end every now and then, or playing rabbit while our intelligence community sets up a rat line. Players will have a 1 month interim period before being selected for a role officially in the org, after that they will be assigned based mostly on how they score during the month during normal operations.
You might log in, and have to show that your loadout is ready, and that your spawn point is set to where the org told you to set it, you might log in and be told to gather information about another organization that we specify, you might show up and have a timed event to Rally at a certain planet with your loadout and go do a seek and destroy against blackstar OPFOR. All of these situations will be evaluated in quantified form and you will be placed based on your scores over a month. If you cant get to a planet in 20 minutes of signing in – maybe this isn’t the place for you. As stated, we aren’t concerned about our numbers.
If this is the kind of organized experience you are looking for, and you want to play a game with a purpose, and meet some squared away folks who are fun to be around, and you don’t mind putting some work in, then we are what you are looking for. Put your application in today. There is no minimum hourly requirement, people have lives and we understand that, you just better have your stuff together when you DO hop on.
0: Fun First, Quality Connections
Above all, we prioritize having a great time together. We value quality interactions over large numbers, so please use good judgment when inviting new members. Consider whether potential additions will enhance the group experience and be reliable teammates who won’t leave others in difficult situations.
1: Team Coordination and Efficiency
While we function as a team, Star Citizen requires significant time investment. We can’t always drop everything to assist individual situations that might derail ongoing operations. If you find yourself in a challenging position that would require 30+ minutes of team resources to resolve, please consider respawning and re-equipping, as gear costs are minimal compared to everyone’s time.
2: Communication Etiquette
Please maintain respectful communication practices. When others are discussing mission-critical information, kindly wait for natural breaks before contributing. Clear communication channels help ensure mission success for everyone involved.
3: Gaming Focus
Let’s keep political discussions out of game channels to maintain our focus on Star Citizen. We can establish separate channels for those topics if there’s interest, but our gaming sessions should remain dedicated to our shared hobby.
4: Real Life Comes First
We completely understand that family and personal responsibilities take priority. Whether it’s family obligations, work commitments, or simply choosing to spend time with loved ones, we respect these decisions without question. Please don’t feel pressured to choose gaming over important life matters. Seriously, FOMO isnt really a thing hre, if there is an experience someone missed out on that wants to re-visit its the three muskateers philosophy all for one, one for all – we’ll do it again just to make sure you get your shot.
5: Mission Preparation
Effective planning leads to better experiences for everyone. Please come prepared with appropriate ships, gear, and supplies before missions begin. While basic equipment is inexpensive, being properly equipped shows respect for the team’s time and ensures smoother operations.
6: Punctuality and Preparedness
When we establish departure times and rally points, please arrive ready to go. Last-minute ship changes, gear swaps, or forgotten equipment can delay the entire team. Being prepared and punctual demonstrates consideration for everyone’s gaming time and helps maintain group momentum.
