History

Graveyard Shift had humble beginnings as a collective of of men and women that had a desire to do things differently.

Most initial members found themselves awake when others were sleeping. Wanting to forge ahead and make progress when others felt that their day had ended. This caused that handful of men and women to break away from their current allegiances and seek others that shared their vision of a group ready to deploy when the sun was setting for the rest of the population. Through connections that many would rather forget, a minimum number of 10 were identified. Some quick administrative decisions were made and a name was voted upon for the collective of men and women that would make up the “Graveyard Shift”

A group that found themselves distant from the majority of the population. A group that prided itself on getting the job done when others felt it was time for rest.

Graveyard Shift experienced a large influx of members and grew in size to be able to reach the furthest parts explored by man and creature. The group experienced many triumphs in their peak, bringing to justice some of the universe’s greatest foes. They found themselves able to complete most tasks, no matter the costs that they would have to endure. Many lost their most prized possessions throughout their adventures however with the safety and security of the Graveyard Shift they were brought back on their feet to fight and service for another day.

However like all good things, everything has its ups and downs. Most members lost sight of the common goals and developed their own visions and needs that caused them to leave Graveyard Shift. Pursuing other groups that had risen up based upon our very beginnings “to be available despite the time of day”. Very few left because of decisions made by the founding members however a general lack of interest and other life pressures got in the way of the large administrative burden that was looking after people.

While it was sad to see them go, Graveyard Shift waved them goodbye and left them with the well wishes and memories of being part of something great.

The group had dwindled to a small number that would maintain the minimum requirements to make sure that Graveyard Shift didn’t cease to exist. They had left behind most trophies that were acquired during the most momentous years, allowing them to collect dust and weather to a point that they were just an eyesore.

In the 1st century of the 3rd millenium the group finds itself with a new lease and purpose in life. New technologies have opened the universe again to go forth, explore and conquer new and wonderful planets and areas of space. Graveyard Shift have decided to embark into the cargo haulage business. Available to move anything to anywhere.

“We pride ourselves on our history and knowledge of business needs to revive this corporation to its former glory. With old members rejoining the corporation and new members willing to give us the chance. It is only a matter of time before the prime days return.”

The founders welcome all citizens of the universe to join Graveyard Shift. Especially those that find themselves losing track of time. Happy to complete a job no matter the cost. Willing to go the extra lightyear when others would rather turn around and return to their warm beds.

Welcome citizen to the Graveyard Shift.
