History

The existence of the Hurston Dynamics Industrial Logistics was officially confirmed in 2945 as a policy of Gavin E. Hurston. Despite having been created by Solomon Hurston originally as a militia to protect traders, more recently the agency is tasked with increasing its own trade in things like haulage, salvage and mining, performing light security details such as the “Industrial Patrolling” for places of interest while generally investing within the Stanton system and beyond.

Security wise, the HDIL is primarily a trading organisation with a defensive interested in securing resources to support the overall goals of Hurston Dynamics from an economic point of view. It works hard to raise levels of individual prosperity too and thus help others to become economically safer. The agency has been creative and determined in how it operates – using cutting edge technology, gathering trade intelligence and securing industrial sites in order to further its interests.

Simply put, the agency endeavours to increase trade while fostering a greater sense of industrial security as another deterrent to economic terrorism by defending Hurston’s business interests from pirating groups and other vagabond terrorists such as the outlawed United Workers of Hurston.

If you think you have what it takes to volunteer with us – please continue to our manifesto and read about out core objectives and the current roles we are recruiting for.

Manifesto

Our manifesto is simple – to increase trade within the industrial logistics industry for Hurston Dynamics, while defending its intergalactic interests from all types of interference. We have three core areas of focus:

Primary Role: Industrial Logistics

We operate lucrative trading operations that include mining for resources, salvaging and cargo running to help keep Hurston competitively in the game. We also aim to promote and finance intergalactic trade and investment while championing free trade. In turn, we secure and improve the economic wellbeing and stability of Hurston Dynamics which in turn enhances prosperity throughout the systems.

Secondary Role: Security

We work tirelessly to stop terrorist attacks in and around Hurston that are against our interests galactically, while also supporting our trade partners and allies. This includes conducting anti-piracy patrols around pirating hotspots. This means acting as a deterrent to threats from hostile and malign states and political factions in order to promote Hurston Dynamics as a galaxy wide entity that has a strong influence upon intergalactic affairs. While we are primarily a defensive force, we take pride in the destruction of extremely dangerous criminal gangs who try to hamper our industrial led logistical operations.

Our impact in these areas inevitably increases trade while reducing serious and organised crime.

Recruitment Opportunities

We are currently looking for those who are skilled, mature and loyal – aged 18+ to join the service in the following roles:

Officers

  • Industrial/Security Pilots – If you have the experience and confidence to fly whatever is required for the service, then we would like to hear from you. We use a variety of different ships to conduct our bespoke industrial operations, from Moles to Reclaimers – from C2’s to Vanguards.

Crewmen

  • Turret Gunners – This role requires perhaps more patience during down time/waiting on the job and like other roles, it won’t always be action packed. Quieter and patient types will be more suited to these roles. But still, you will also need to know how to pilot ships in emergencies or perhaps act as a copilot.
  • Engineers – On board, engineers are wanted to keep our ships flying and in optimum condition. If you have engineer training and enjoy working behind the scenes, then we want to hear from you.

If you are still interested in volunteering with us – please continue to our charter.

HDIL Code of Conduct

All volunteers represent the HDIL at all times. Therefore we expect that every volunteer, whether off duty or on – conducts himself respectfully, politely and professionally towards all people, regardless of the platform (such as Spectrum) or situation.

The HDIL has a license to defend itself and use force to enforce law, protect its own assets and the legitimate assets belonging to Hurston Dynamics. We do not have the right to provoke aggression and combatively engage those who are conducting their lives legally and in a way that does not interfere with out own industrial operations. While we will always endeavour to communicate with those who engage with us first, we reserve the right to destroy those who stand in our way, refuse council or ignore our right to enforce the law surrounding our own operations – or those of other innocent legally operating parties.

Hurston Dynamics Industrial Logistics secondary goal is to assist in the tackling of Terrorism, which includes Piracy. We defines piracy as a person, persons, group, or organization that meet one or more of the following criteria unless otherwise accounted for:

a. Committing an unsolicited act of force, intimidation, theft, coercion, or extortion toward individuals, property, and other assets.

c. Is part of a wider organisation that seeks to undermine the properties, goals and infrastructure of Hurston Dynamics.
