Independent Galactic Republic (IGR)
A sovereign alliance of free citizens, soldiers, and traders fighting for liberty across the stars. No empires. No overlords. Just unity, strength, and purpose. Join us. Defend freedom. Build the future. The stars belong to the people.

History

The Independent Galactic Republic (IGR) was founded in the ashes of broken treaties, failed promises, and unchecked power.

In the late 29th century, after decades of corruption, war profiteering, and political manipulation across the UEE’s outer territories, a series of independent systems began to reject imperial rule. These were not rebels — they were citizens, traders, scientists, and soldiers who had seen their homes bled dry by distant officials and corporate greed.

What began as scattered planetary councils and resistance cells soon formed into something greater. A summit held aboard an abandoned carrier-turned-neutral ground — known only as The Accord — brought together these fractured factions. Out of that summit came a charter, a flag, and a vision: the creation of a sovereign, multi-system alliance devoted to liberty, defense, and democratic governance.

Thus, in 2897, the Independent Galactic Republic was born.

Initially dismissed as idealists and separatists, the IGR survived relentless pressure, blockades, and black-ops sabotage. But through tactical brilliance, skilled diplomacy, and a network of underground trade and intelligence, the Republic endured — and grew. Systems with nothing left to lose turned to IGR for protection. Disillusioned soldiers defected. Outposts once abandoned became strongholds of hope.

Today, the IGR is no longer a whispered name in hidden halls. It is a force — structured, unified, and committed to defending free peoples against tyranny in all its forms. With a standing fleet, intelligence bureau, civilian council, and trade corps, the Republic has earned its place as more than a resistance…

It is the alternative.
A future worth fighting for.

Manifesto

“The Stars Belong to the People.”

We, the free citizens of the galaxy, bound not by bloodline, title, or profit — but by conviction — declare the foundation of the Independent Galactic Republic.

For too long, the stars have been shackled.
By empires that silence dissent.
By corporations that strip systems bare.
By governments that serve only themselves.

We say: No more.

The Republic exists for one reason — and one reason only:
To defend liberty.
Not as a dream. Not as a privilege. But as a right — unalienable and absolute.

We reject the idea that peace must come from submission.
We reject the belief that security demands servitude.
We reject the myth that power must rest in the hands of the few.

In the IGR, every citizen holds value.
Every voice is heard.
Every action echoes.

We build not for conquest, but for creation.
We fly not to enforce, but to protect.
We fight not for glory, but for freedom.

We will trade with honor, speak with truth, and strike without fear.
We will hold the line for those who cannot.
We will be the shield that outlasts tyrants.

To those who wish to rule — we are your limit.
To those who seek freedom — we are your home.
To the stars themselves — we are your guardians.

This is our Republic.
And we will not be moved.

Signed,
The Founders
The Free
The Future.

Charter

Ratified in the Accord of 2897

Preamble
We, the signatories of this Charter, in pursuit of liberty, justice, and the security of all free peoples, do hereby establish the Independent Galactic Republic. Born from necessity, forged through unity, and bound by shared conviction, the IGR shall stand as a sovereign and democratic force within the stars — free from the chains of imperialism, authoritarian rule, and corporate exploitation.

Article I – Purpose
The purpose of the Independent Galactic Republic is to:

Safeguard the autonomy of member systems and citizens.

Promote democratic governance, free trade, and mutual defense.

Provide infrastructure, support, and representation to all who embrace the principles of liberty.

Resist tyranny in all forms — political, economic, or military.

Article II – Sovereignty
The IGR recognizes no higher authority than the will of its people. All member systems retain their cultural identities and local governance, bound by mutual commitment to the Charter.

Article III – Governance Structure
The IGR shall be governed by:

The Supreme Chancellor – Executive representative of the Republic, elected by Council vote.

The Council of the Republic – A representative body of all major divisions and systems.

Civil and Military Divisions – Including the Republic Defense Fleet, Shadow Bureau, Trade Corps, and Infrastructure Guild.

Article IV – Citizenship
Any free individual who pledges loyalty to the Republic and its principles may apply for full citizenship, with equal rights to speak, vote, and serve.

Article V – Defense of the Republic
The IGR recognizes the necessity of armed defense. All citizens may be called to serve in times of crisis. Aggression against one is aggression against all.

Article VI – Amendments
This Charter may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the Council and ratified by the Supreme Chancellor.

For freedom. For unity. For the stars.

Signed this day,
By the Founders of the Accord.
