We will not fade, from brightest day to darkest night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
During the first years of human expansion, a small band of freelancers were hired to guard and escort minerals brought in from the outer colonies. These brave men and women eventually banded together over a period of twenty five years; they became known across major trade routes as ‘Eclipse’.
This is where our history begins. In 2395, fifteen years after the creation of the UNE a demand increased for security against pirates and crime syndicates. Eclipse became one of many to answer the call. After first contact and nearly 200 years later, Eclipse still held fast against the Vanduul and other hostile forces that threatened our company’s clients or their goods.
Now as we near the 30th Century of human existence, we look back at nearly 700 years of service, failure, triumph, loss and devotion. With the destruction of the Hexilion by the Vanduul in 2916 (our main centre of operations in the Tevarian sector), Eclipse has been forced to rebuild itself from the ground up. We are once again rising up, holding true to our slogan that has keep us strong since the founding of Eclipse. We will not fade. We will rise, we will rage. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Since our founding in 2370 we have kept our goals and traditions in line with the times. Today as it has been for decades, the threats are numerous and ever growing. Our goal, to keep trade routes, stations, convoys and colonies safe from attack. But we aren’t the UEE, we simply don’t have the resources we once did. So for now we work for credits, our cause is our own, but our operatives are not brutes, they are soldiers. They have honour and morality.
Our agenda is as follows:With the destruction of the Hexilion Eclipse has become a minor group once more, this is both helpful to us and harmful. Harmful for obvious reasons, as we no longer carry the support we once did, we are no longer well recognized. However, this also means once again we are off the radar, capable of using methods not sanctioned in the core. We are also harder to locate without a base to call home. In conclusion, we have lost our home but we have gained our freedom, to build anew and tackle the challenges of the universe once again.
