Founded on the 24th of January, 2944, Intragalactic Navigation and Cartography (INC) was created by two then-recent university graduates who sought their fortunes among the stars, be it a fortune in UEC, or in knowledge. INC was not the first exploration based organisation founded by these two individuals. Rather, there was one that preceded it, but this initial venture failed owing to various difficulties and complications. However, the tools and experienced they gained from their initial ventures served only to inspire them to continue on, avoiding and correcting the mistakes made during their previous attempts. Since that time, INC has remained a close-knit organisation of individuals intending to continue that original vision, exploring the galaxy in search of that which hasn’t been seen before, expanding collective knowledge of Humanity at large and selling everything else for a large amount of UEC.
Many things have served to shape INC into the organisation that is is today, ranging in both size and scope. Listed here are the events and achievements that are considered significant to the history and development of INC.

The organisation Intragalactic Navigation and Cartography (INC) was founded as a banner under which a small group of select, like-minded individuals could meet to explore the Star Citizen universe, share resources and ideas and, above all, have a good time. The focus of our organisation is primarily on exploration, as explained in the section `What We Do’, with a secondary interest in trading and a more general `as the mood takes us’ approach to our goals and tasks. As such, as explained in section the `What We Want’, a key feature of any potential recruit would be an ability to work with the established organisation membership. If you are interested in joining us, please continue reading to see what you need to do. Also please consider reading our Charter for more details of the rules and structure of our organisation.
Our main goal in INC is to explore the universe that has been created for us by Cloud Imperium Games, find what’s out there, to bring it back and sell it for as many credits as possible. From derelict freighters to new star systems, if it’s out there to find, we intend to find it. Our individual members are free work independently on whatever they wish, within reason (see below), but they are also asked to work together when the situation calls for it, such as in the case of a group expedition to an unexplored area. Of course, all this is done while maintaining fun and friendly atmosphere within the group. We are here to enjoy ourselves so let’s try and keep it that way.
Trust is of vital importance when exploring the unknown. Whether it’s Vanduul raiders, a band of pirates, or simply a rival group of explorers trying to usurp our claim, it’s important to know that those around you have your back. Therefore, in INC, we rely on a small, tight-knit group of individuals who work well together and can support each other and, as such, the ability to co-operate and communicate with the existing group is of paramount importance in any prospective candidate. Additionally, while individuals are free to pursue their own projects within reason, INC neither condones nor endorses criminal activities such as piracy and, as such, will not consider candidates who are wanted by the United Empire of Earth, or its allies. Similarly, INC will not partake in, nor permit its membership to participate in, such activities.
Still interested in joining us? Well, actions speak louder than words. If you wish to join our ranks, you best option is to seek us out in the `verse, express your interest and offer your aid us in our mission. After some time together, if we feel you’d be a good fit for us, you’ll be invited to join us at the `Intern’ rank (please see the Charter for more information) and from there, well, we’ll see…

At Intragalactic Navigation and Cartography (INC), we intend to conduct ourselves according to three simple rules:
We’ve all joined this game to have a good time so, please, be welcoming, pleasant and respectful to each other, whether they’re within the organisation or not. A survey that isn’t bearing fruit is no excuse for rudeness to other citizens.
It is expected that all members will respect and follow the laws as laid down by the United Empire of Earth, as well as any local laws, as applicable. If this rule is inconsistent with your chosen monetary acquisition method, we would recommend looking for an organisation more… suitable.
If you have a problem, be it with another INC member, someone outside the organisation, or otherwise, then members are encouraged to discuss this fact with their superior or other trusted individual. Remember – we can’t help you if we don’t know there’s a problem!
It is the opinion of the INC partners that, despite what UEE propaganda might suggest to you, the Vanduul are simply misunderstood and, in fact, simply need our kindness and friendship. So, if you get the chance, give them a great big hug. Either with your arms or through the universal medium of weapons fire.
These rules will form the basis of the wider rules and regulations document that is currently being constructed, which is intended to include the organisational structure and the rights and responsibilities of each rank and role, as well as procedures for introducing new members and requirements for rank advancement.
These rules are, of course, only intended as guidelines as we at INC recognize that most situations will require a degree of flexibility. As such, members are encouraged to use their best judgement on how to apply these rules to their situation.
