“The Heavens belong to the Lord, but He has made us the Inheritors of His stars.” -Ikezawa11789

History

The Inheritance was founded in February 2956 by the six Prophets, after they received visions telling them to “Take back what is yours.” The Inheritance is a splinter group of the United Earth Empire Church of the Holy Ghost.

Manifesto

The Inheritance is made up of several founding members who, though not all religious, shared a common vision from what they collectively refer to as “The Lord” who spoke a directive into their hearts. We, as the Inheritors of the stars of The Lord, are dedicated to the progression and prosperity of humanity, through the continuation of trade and commerce, the judgment of evil, and the reclamation of resources. We believe that the salvation of humanity can be found in the future, and we will be the lights which shine into eternity.

Charter

The Inheritance is comprised of several different categories of individuals:

Roles

Prophets: These six members of the Prophetic Synod are the founding members of the faith, and they determine the course of the faith, in line with the decrees of The Lord.

Elders: Members of the Council of Elders hold important positions of accountability and stability within the church, managing the placement of members where they can be best utilized.

Missionaries: These members go throughout the ‘verse and spread the good news of the faith, encouraging all lost sheep to come into the fold and contribute to the betterment of mankind.

Deacons: Individuals of administrative, logistical, and artistic talent who partake in endeavors to make the Inheritance more appealing to those who have yet to find the way, and to make the holy work done in the name of The Lord more pleasing.

Ranks

Cardinals: The highest tier of member, these people hold great positions and their words of advice, encouragement, or admonition should be taken very seriously by all members, both subordinates and peers alike.

Archbishops: High tier members who have proven their dedication to the cause of a brighter tomorrow, and who can be trusted with significant projects and long-standing missions. These ones are also tasked with mentoring new members in the way of the faith.

Shepherd: These men and women are the backbone of the organization, they are expected to know and live the tenets of the faith, and to teach others, so that no one may say that the truth of The Lord was unknown to them.

Brethren: This standard-tier membership makes up the majority of members in the organization, who have demonstrated knowledge of the way of The Lord, and have dedicated themselves to shining as lamps on a hill.

Catechumin: These individuals make up the initial phase of true membership. These people are actively learning the way of The Lord and are in training to become Brethren. Their training will be typically overseen by Archbishops and Shepherds.

Sheep: These individuals are not members, but those who are curious about the way of The Lord, and who will be accepted and initiated, so long as their desire is true and heart shows promise of purity.

Charter/Bylaws:

The Inheritance focuses a large portion of its effort on the following:
Commodity Trading
Cargo Missions
Salvage

Members are encouraged to also conduct other missions which contribute to the overall good of mankind, such as medivac, bounty hunting, and mining, though these endeavors are not as common among the Prophetic Synod.

Members are discouraged from engaging in behaviors that actively harm others, such as piracy, griefing, and malicious PvP. Members will not be admonished for occasional acts against other players, and exigent circumstances are expected and understood. However, repeated acts which violate these restrictions will force a Council of Cardinals to determine continued membership.

Members may engage in friendly/competitive PvP, smuggling, and fencing on an irregular basis, so long as these actions do not negatively impact other players in a meaningful way.

Councils: If, for whatever reason, a Council is needed, it will be initiated by, and overseen by, at least two Prophets, and will include an odd number of members of a particular rank or role, in order to quickly and fairly determine an outcome either by majority opinion, or by unanimous vote, depending on the situation.
