In the lawless void, the Intrepid Stormbreaker Armada strikes fast, hits hard, and vanishes before the law can respond. Pirates, raiders, and fighters united by cunning, blood, and ambition. Rule the frontier, seize your fortune, and forge your eternal legend. Raid. Rule. Reign.
I. Founding and The Three Pillars
The ISBA was established in 2940 (around the time the UEE was expanding its control into the volatile fringes) by three influential figures who saw UEE regulation not as law, but as a barrier to true profit:
“The Intrepid”: A former deep-space explorer and salvager who possessed unparalleled knowledge of hidden jump points, unstable nebula routes, and abandoned transit lanes. Their skill was getting the fleet in and out undetected.
“The Stormbreaker”: An expert in electronic warfare and weapons systems. They believed in breaking the enemy’s formation and resolve using chaos—jamming communications, disabling thrusters, and turning the battle into an unpredictable “storm.”
“The Armada Prime”: The financial and strategic mastermind. They secured the initial fleet of Drake Cutlasses and Vultures, established the first reliable black market routes, and coined the phrase: “We don’t steal cargo; we assert ownership of unsecured assets.”
II. The “Stormbreaker” Doctrine
The ISBA quickly distinguished itself from common bandits. Their specialty is operating in areas the UEE Navy avoids due to extreme conditions:
Nebula Attacks: They utilize the dense particle clouds of nebulas (such as the Euterpe or Gemma systems) to cloak their approach, turning a visibility-zero environment into their personal hunting ground.
Gravimetric Interference: They specifically target systems near massive gas giants or unstable jump gates where gravimetric distortion is high. This interference often cripples UEE sensors and makes accurate targeting impossible for legitimate forces, but the ISBA pilots thrive on the chaotic drift.
Lightning Strikes: Their primary tactic involves swift, coordinated attacks on convoys during the opening or closing of a jump point—a moment of maximum vulnerability for any ship.
III. The Rise to “Reign”
By 2945, the ISBA had transitioned from a raiding gang to a governing power. They didn’t seek the UEE’s approval; they carved out their own territory:
The Claim: The ISBA currently dominates several deep-space mining and salvage sectors bordering the Pyro System and the lawless corners of Elysium. They levy “protection tariffs” on independent miners and smugglers, ensuring safe passage only if their price is met.
Ship Preference (Drake Affinity): The organization’s initial success relied heavily on Drake Interplanetary ships (Cutlasses, Buccaneers, and Catalysts). This is cemented in their culture; they favor the utilitarian, easily repairable, and aggressively armed Drake designs, viewing them as the perfect tools for the frontier.
Code of Conduct: The Armada enforces a brutal but straightforward internal code. Loyalty is rewarded with vast riches; betrayal or incompetence is met with immediate, permanent expulsion (often via venting into the void). Their external philosophy is summarized by their motto:
RAID. (Take what you need.) RULE. (Enforce your power.) REIGN! (Establish your legacy.)
IV. Legacy and Current Status
The Intrepid Stormbreaker Armada is now viewed by the UEE as a Tier-1 hostile organization, notorious for challenging authority and disrupting corporate supply lines. Their fleet is vast, their pilots are battle-hardened, and they represent the ultimate fear: the pirate that is more organized and more dedicated than the law itself.
The Stormbreaker’s Decree
The Intrepid Stormbreaker Armada
[ISBA]
We Are Not Pirates. We Are Architects of a New Order.
I. Declaration of Sovereignty
The Intrepid Stormbreaker Armada hereby declares itself the sole legitimate authority within the territories we claim and transit. The failed bureaucracy of the United Empire of Earth (UEE) has forfeited its right to govern the void through incompetence, cowardice, and corruption.
We acknowledge no law that we do not write, and we recognize no authority that we do not enforce. Our rule is earned through strength, skill, and the willingness to take what others only dream of possessing.
II. The Three Tenets of the Storm
Every member of the Armada is bound by the three principles that make us unbreakable:
INTREPIDITY: The Daring of the Void
We embrace the risk. We will not wait for easy targets or clear weather. We will plunge into the grav-lags, the high-radiation zones, and the heart of the enemy’s defense. The greater the risk, the greater the reward. Fortune favors the bold, and the bold are us.
STORMBREAKING: The Weapon of Chaos
We master the environment. The chaos of the void is our shield and our hammer. We use nebulas, asteroid fields, and jump-point instability to break the enemy’s formations and scatter their strength. We do not fight fair; we fight smart. We are the storm they cannot weather.
ARMADA: The Power of Unity
We are a unified, professional military force. We reject the anarchy of petty banditry. Every raid is a surgical operation, every ship is a tool of precision. Loyalty to the Armada is absolute; those who raid for personal gain over the Collective’s profit will be cast back into the gutter they came from. We move as one, and as one, we conquer.
III. The Code of Action
Our daily purpose is defined by our motto:
RAID.
We seize high-value assets. We target the largest corporations and the most protected military convoys. We are surgeons of wealth extraction. We take what the UEE deems “essential” and prove that nothing under their jurisdiction is secure.
RULE.
We establish our dominance through effective deterrence and overwhelming force. We impose fair but punitive tariffs on those who operate within our domain. Protection is offered, but only to those who pay our price. Those who resist will be eliminated to enforce our sovereignty.
REIGN!
We seek not temporary wealth, but eternal status. Every successful raid builds the legend of the Intrepid Stormbreaker Armada. Our goal is to forge a name so feared that convoys change their routes and empires fear the thunder of our jump drives.
— Signed by the Three Pillars of the Armada: Intrepid, Storm, and Breaker.
I. Supremacy of the Armada
1.01 Name and Purpose: This organization shall be known as the Intrepid Stormbreaker Armada (ISBA). Its purpose is the systematic acquisition of high-value assets and the establishment of a sovereign domain within the Star Citizen ‘verse, guided by the principles of Intrepidity, Stormbreaking, and Unity.
1.02 Territory: The ISBA reserves the right to operate and enforce its laws within any sector deemed “unsecured,” “lawless,” or “strategically necessary” to the Armada’s interests, particularly high-risk transit routes and resource extraction zones on the fringes of UEE space (e.g., Pyro, Nyx, or frontier systems).
II. Command Structure: The Triumvirate
2.01 The Three Pillars: Ultimate command authority rests with the three founding members, collectively known as The Triumvirate. Each member controls a specific, vital branch of the Armada:
2.02 Succession: In the event a Pillar is lost, the remaining members of the Triumvirate shall vote to elevate a Captain (see 3.02) who best embodies the lost Pillar’s core principle and possesses proven, exceptional competence.
III. Ranks and Chain of Command
3.01 Commodore: Reports directly to The Triumvirate. Commands large, permanent divisions of the Armada (e.g., “The Obsidian Wing”).
3.02 Captain: Commands a dedicated, independent strike group (typically 3-5 ships), known as a Storm Cell. Responsible for executing specific raid objectives assigned by The Triumvirate or a Commodore.
3.03 Lieutenant: Second-in-Command of a Storm Cell. Responsible for organizing ground/boarding teams and ensuring mission readiness.
3.04 Corsair: The core member of the Armada. Experienced pilot, gunner, or crew member. Considered a full voting member of their Storm Cell.
3.05 Deckhand / Initiate: Provisional member. Must complete a minimum number of successful raids (usually 5) before being considered for promotion to Corsair.
IV. Laws of the Armada
4.01 Law of Acquisition (The Raid): All assets acquired during a sanctioned raid are the property of the Armada. Unreported or secretly stashed personal loot is considered Treason (see 4.04).
4.02 Law of Combat (The Rule): All members must adhere to the command structure during engagements. Cowardice, desertion, or failure to follow orders that results in the loss of Armada assets will result in immediate demotion or expulsion.
4.03 Profit Sharing (The Reign): Profits are distributed based on a hierarchical share system, ensuring that high-ranking members who bear the greatest command responsibility receive the greatest reward. However, even the lowest-ranking Corsair receives a minimum, guaranteed share of every sanctioned raid.
4.04 Treason: Any act that jeopardizes the safety, profits, or reputation of the ISBA is considered Treason. This includes, but is not limited to: collaboration with UEE authorities, theft of organizational property, or unprovoked attacks on sanctioned trade partners. The penalty for Treason is expulsion without assets and, often, a public execution in the void.
V. Amendment
5.01 Amendment Process: This Charter may only be amended by a unanimous vote of The Triumvirate.
