“We don’t ask who lost it. We ask who’s paying to get it back.”
LANTAC ARG covert interstellar operations span across all systems, recovering lost personnel, prisoners, cargo, technology, and secrets. When expeditions vanish, targets disappear, or missions go bad, LANTAC answers.
LANTAC ARG was founded by Nikolas “Nomad” Blackthorne, a frontier security contractor, explorer, and recovery specialist whose name became legendary throughout the outer systems.
For decades, Nomad operated on the edges of known space, running escort contracts, salvage operations, private security details, and high-risk expeditions wherever the work took him. During those years he witnessed a problem the major powers continually ignored.
Everyone was willing to fund exploration.
Nobody was willing to fund recovery.
Crews vanished beyond monitored space. Prospectors disappeared into cave systems. Survey teams were abandoned after pirate attacks. Corporations routinely wrote off valuable cargo and personnel once recovery became more expensive than replacement.
The frontier had become littered with ghosts.
Everything changed following a catastrophic recovery mission near the outskirts of the Leir System. Realizing no organization existed to retrieve the lost, the stranded, or the forgotten, Nomad began assembling a team of specialists drawn from mercenary companies, former military operators, independent salvagers, combat pilots, and deep-space explorers.
Their mission was simple:
Go where others won’t. Recover what others can’t.
What began as a handful of operators would eventually evolve into LANTAC ARG — Lerian Tactical Asset Recovery Group.
Generations later, the Blackthorne legacy continues. The organization’s current commander is Nikolas Blackthorne IV, known throughout the frontier as Nomad-IV, the fourth Blackthorne to bear both the name and callsign of the founder. Under his leadership, LANTAC continues to operate throughout the Leir System and beyond, carrying forward the same principle that started it all:
No asset left behind.
“The frontier is filled with ghosts.
Ghost ships drifting through silent space.
Ghost crews abandoned when the numbers no longer make sense.
Ghost settlements forgotten by corporations that promised prosperity.
The galaxy celebrates discovery.
It celebrates expansion.
It celebrates conquest.
But it rarely remembers recovery.
When a survey team disappears beyond a jump point, nobody writes songs about the crew sent to find them.
When a cargo convoy is lost to pirates, nobody remembers the operators who fought to bring it home.
When an explorer vanishes beyond the edge of the map, most simply mark them as lost and move on.
We do not.
LANTAC was founded on a simple belief:
What is lost is not gone.
Not while someone is willing to search.
Not while someone is willing to fight.
Not while someone is willing to go into the dark and bring it back.
We are not conquerors.
We are not politicians.
We are not heroes.
We are recovery specialists.
The crew you call when everyone else has already written the mission off.
The team that launches when the insurance claim has already been filed.
The operators who enter the places others refuse to go.
We believe that people matter.
We believe commitments matter.
We believe that a promise made to a client, a crew, or a teammate carries weight.
The frontier may be harsh.
Space may be indifferent.
But our answer remains the same.
Go where others won’t.
Recover what others can’t.
And when the mission is over—
Bring it home.”
- Nikolas Blackthorne
The Lerian Tactical Asset Recovery Group (LANTAC ARG) exists to locate, recover, extract, and safeguard personnel, cargo, technology, vessels, and strategic assets throughout the Leir System and beyond.
Founded upon the principles established by Nikolas “Nomad” Blackthorne, LANTAC recognizes that the frontier is built upon risk, and that no individual, crew, or asset should be abandoned solely because recovery is difficult, dangerous, or unprofitable.
To that end, LANTAC commits itself to the following principles:
1. Mission First
Every operation begins and ends with successful asset recovery. Objectives may change, conditions may deteriorate, and plans may fail, but the mission remains.
2. Professional Conduct
Members will conduct themselves as disciplined operators, representing both LANTAC and the Blackthorne legacy. Recklessness, unnecessary hostility, and conduct detrimental to the organization will not be tolerated.
3. Adaptability
Recovery operations occur in uncertain environments. Members are expected to think independently, adapt rapidly, and solve problems under pressure.
4. Brotherhood and Mutual Support
Every member is responsible for the success and survival of the team. No operator stands alone.
5. Operational Security
Information is a resource. Members will safeguard operational intelligence, client information, and organizational assets at all times.
6. Frontier Integrity
While LANTAC accepts contracts from a variety of clients, the organization will not knowingly participate in actions that threaten the survival of frontier communities or innocent civilians.
7. No Asset Left Behind
The foundation of LANTAC. Recovery is not an afterthought—it is our purpose.
