Graythorn Consortium is a mercenary group looking to earn a profit, no matter the client. The only place we draw the line is with piracy; we believe hard work should not be stolen by others, and we will protect those who fall within our guidelines.

History

The Graythorn Consortium has a storied past that traces its roots to Earth. Originally, it began as a small, tight-knit group of teenagers known as the Legitimate Business Men. These youths often found themselves entangled with rival gangs or skirting the boundaries of the law—unnoticed by the authorities but well known among the criminal underworld. As the group matured, their original leader, Sir Boblet, decided to retire from the spotlight, seeking a quieter life. In his place, he appointed Snailfood, who was tasked with expanding the group’s operations beyond Earth’s confines and into the vastness of space.

Under Snailfood’s leadership, the organization was rebranded as the Graythorn Consortium. They retained the tag LEGITIMATE as a tribute to their origins. Transitioning from a terrestrial street gang to an interstellar mercenary group, Greythorn became known for operating in the moral gray area between lawfulness and outright criminality. Despite their flexible approach to morality, the Consortium instituted a strict code of conduct: minimize civilian casualties, forbid piracy, and always support fellow members.

Graythorn’s ethos closely parallels that of organizations like Drake Interplanetary—advocating for the rights and protection of the working class, and believing that honest people should keep what they earn, free from the threat of pirates. Still, Greythorn is pragmatic; the pursuit of profit is never far from their minds, and they are willing to get their hands dirty if the reward justifies the risk.

Manifesto

We are the Graythorn Consortium, descendants of the Legitimate Business Men, forged in adversity, united by loyalty, and driven by purpose. Our journey began on the streets of Earth, and now we carve our path among the stars. Our legacy is not defined by where we started, but by the code we uphold wherever we go.

We believe in the strength of our brotherhood and the power of unity. No member stands alone in either victory or hardship. Our word is our bond, and our loyalty is earned, never demanded.

We operate in the shadows between order and chaos, never blind to the costs of our actions. We reject indiscriminate violence and refuse the path of the pirate. Civilian lives are sacred, and we protect the innocent from those who would prey upon them.

Profit is our lifeblood, but not at the expense of our honor. We take risks and seize opportunities, but never betray our principles for short-term gain. Our reputation is built on reliability, discretion, and courage.

We are the shield of the working class, the hand that strikes back when the powerful exploit the weak. We defend what is rightfully earned and punish those who seek to steal or oppress.
