Left-Wing Community / LEWC

The Left-Wing Community (LEWC) is an Org for kind, empathetic, tolerant people, who generally care about the wellbeing and empowerment of other people, as well as the wellbeing of our environments and the living beings that inhabit them. These are people who do not tolerate intolerance (see: the tolerance paradox) and who look out for each other. Does this sound like your kind of community? If so, this might be the place for you (bonus points if you’re a silly goose :3 )

Politically speaking, this is a place for socialists, communists, anarchists, and yes even social democrats (if you behave yourselves). It is also a place for BIPOC, neurodivergent, and queer/LGBT+ people.

Connecting these people are the shared principles of feminism, egalitarianism, internationalism, anti-capitalism, anti-imperialism, anti-racism, and anti-fascism. The reason for the latter two principles should be obvious, and if not, then this is definitely not the place for you.

Please also bear in mind, you don’t have to associate with any of these labels, but this should give you an idea of the kind of people to expect here, who are generally the same kinds of people as those outlined in the first paragraph.

As for what to expect from the Org, there will be no in-game presence, outside of people playing together as friends might. Out-of-game, there is a Discord server to facilitate connecting and socialising with people, and Members are encouraged to use this server to find people to play SC with on the fly, or to do whatever they want really. The hope ultimately is that this will be a place for people to make friends, without having to commit to an Org, or any specific SC gameplay activities.

• > You can speak English
• > Your principles align with those detailed in the Manifesto

Rules:

1. Don’t be a dick
2. No bigotry – i.e. no racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc.
3. Don’t preach non-left ideologies or narratives (this isn’t the place for that) but do feel free to ask questions in good faith (learning is encouraged!)
4. No NSFW content
5. Keep discussions to their relevant channels
6. For any potentially upsetting or triggering content, use the spoiler feature and add a brief description of the content
7. Do not breach CIG’s Terms of Service (TOS)
8. Mods and/or Admins (whichever is applicable) have the final say on what is okay nor not

Regarding membership status, you can choose whatever you like, but considering the kind of Org this is, you’re encouraged to choose Affiliate.

Also, you don’t have to join this Org to join the Discord! Which is to say, if you’d like to join the Discord first and get a feel for things, then you’re more than welcome to do so, but please make sure to read the rules both here and there.
