LUX ET TENEBRIS INVICTUS

History

The 1st LRG Division started off as a small group of friends who came together to play games. This is our star citizen branch.

Most of the regulars have served with the military before, so we’re familiar with military lifestyle. We seek to simulate the more operational aspects of the military by allowing our more committed members to directly affect the organization through the drafting of SOPs and battle plans while still allowing more casual members to have fun and enjoy the coop game play that comes about in a militaristic Org.

Manifesto

What to expect

We do abide by a “loose” chain of command, so expect militaristic command structures, drills (not parade drills, stuff like boarding drills and so on) etc, but for the most part, everyone is allowed to do as they please. Think of us as a “milsim lite” where we aren’t as rigid or strict as traditional milsim units, though the higher your rank gets, the more “milsim” it will get. Also, don’t worry too much about the “assessments” and “interviews” listed below in the promotion eligibility. They’re there so that we can get to know you better. Just relax and have fun.

Patches

We do have plans on producing and distributing physical squadron, fleet and divisional patches to all eligible members should there be enough interest in them.

Chain of Command

The 1st LRG fleet is commanded by a fleet commander operating from a designated flagship. The fleet is divided into smaller task forces which may be formed, disbanded, combined, or split as required by the situation. Every ship’s commander is given some degree of autonomy and may act independently if he/she deems it necessary. Ship crew members are expected to follow their commanders’ orders, provided such orders do not harm the fleet or its allies.

Rank Structure

The rank structure of the division is made up of three Corps, the Enlisted Corps, the Non-Commissioned Officer Corps, and the Commissioned Officer Corps. The Org is structured in such a way where each player may choose how much “milsim” they would like to experience, with the Enlisted Corps being the least “milsim” and the Commissioned Officer Corps being the most “milsim”.

  • The Enlisted Corps
    • This consists of the rank and file division member. They are trained to perform specialized tasks under the supervision of a Non-Commissioned Officer. Members may expect lots of multi-crew and team based gameplay as an Enlisted Man. The Enlisted Corps is also the least “milsim” of the three corps.
  • The Non-Commissioned Officer Corps
    • This consists of the sergeants and warrant officers who form the backbone of the Division. They are trained to lead Enlisted Men to execute missions to achieve objectives as planned by the Commissioned Officers, effectively acting as a conduit between the Commissioned Officers and the Enlisted Men. Members who are keen to take up leadership roles can consider becoming an NCO. The Non-Commissioned Officer Corps is the middle ground between the hardcore milsim experience of the Commissioned Officer Corps and the more laid back and casual Enlisted Corps. More will be expected from the NCOs as compared to the Enlisted.
  • The Commissioned Officer Corps
    • This consists of the commanders of the Division. They are trained to plan and command formations of the Division. Members who are keen on planning and commanding can consider becoming a Commissioned Officer. Do take note that a heavier responsibility and
scrutiny will be placed upon all Commissioned Officers. Additional taskings such as document drafting and planning will be given to Commissioned Officers. The Commissioned Officers Corps has the most hardcore milsim experience out of the three Corps. Officers will be expected to prepare and present plans formally, write up documents such as the SOP, training plans, and so on. Expectations placed on Officers will be very high, so only join this Corps if you are willing to go above and beyond.

Promotion Eligibility

Our promotion criteria are built around a “play to be promoted” philosophy where you won’t really have to do much apart from play the game to rise through the ranks. Ranks will also be assigned in a fluid manner where all non-coms and above can take turns to be a commander or a trooper. For command school aspirants, do not worry too much about whether you become an NCO or a commissioned officer. We will take into account your preference, skills, attitude and personality, so just do your best and don’t worry too much. We will do our best to assign everyone to a role where they may best contribute to the division.
