Lumen Refuge exists to shine a light where things feel dark — whether that’s capsuleer burnout, real-life struggles, or just needing a quiet place to vent. We’re a cross-game community (EVE + Star Citizen) focused on mental health awareness, peer support, and positive vibes.
History
Lumen Refuge was born in early 2026 from a simple truth: even the toughest capsuleers and star citizens sometimes need a safe place to land when the void feels too heavy.
Founder Valdale, a veteran pilot flying in both New Eden and the Stanton system, watched too many friends quietly struggle with burnout, isolation, and real-life storms while the games demanded constant performance. Realizing that the communities we love could also be the communities that heal, he created Lumen Refuge as a cross-game sanctuary — the first organization built from day one to bridge EVE Online and Star Citizen under one banner of mental health awareness and genuine support.
What started as a small Discord for a handful of pilots has grown into a beacon for anyone who needs light in the darkness. No grand empire, no conquest of territory — just a quiet, steady harbor where pilots from every background can refuel their spirits, share their stories, and remember they’re never flying alone.

In the endless black between stars, in the silence after a lost ship, in the quiet moments when the weight of two universes feels crushing — Lumen Refuge stands as proof that no pilot has to face the darkness alone.
We believe mental health is not a weakness to hide in the shadow of your pod, but a vital part of every journey. We believe that awareness is the first step toward healing, that support is stronger when it comes from fellow citizens who truly understand the unique pressures of life in the ‘verse, and that community is the most powerful shield any of us can wield.
This is not just another organization.

Core Purpose
Lumen Refuge exists to provide a judgment-free sanctuary for mental health awareness, peer support, and community across EVE Online and Star Citizen.
Guiding Principles
Safety first: Zero tolerance for toxicity, harassment, or drama. This is a refuge.
Real life > game: Mental health and personal well-being always take priority. Burnout? Take a break — we’ll still be here.
Inclusivity: All time zones, all playstyles, all experience levels (new citizens to veteran aces) are welcome. Alpha and Omega clones, all backgrounds.
Cross-game unity: One identity, one Discord, one family — whether you’re mining in New Eden or hauling in the ‘verse.
Zero tax, zero pressure: No mandatory fleets, no performance requirements. Fly when and how you want.
