The First Martian Revolution, or as the EDF have referred to it, the Ultor Uprising, was a conflict that occurred on Mars in 2075, where a strike by miners develops into a full-fledged revolution against the oppressive Ultor Corporation. The miners form the Red Faction M4 Mine Miners guild.
History
The Ultor Corporation, named after the ancient Roman temple devoted to the Roman god Mars, is the body in complete control of governance and industry on Mars prior to the First Martian Revolution when they are overthrown by the Red Faction insurgency and the Earth Defense Force. While Ultor has interests in nanotechnology and weapon manufacturing, they are primarily a mining company; this can be seen in their logo, a stylized continuous mining machine blade wheel.
Their rule is an infamous chapter in the history of human settlement on the red planet.
