VICTORIAM PER PRUDENTIA;

VICTORY THROUGH DISCRETION;
SUPERIORITY THROUGH EXPERIENCE

History

The Private Military Contractor ‘Mantis’ was formed to meet demand for a reliable provider of scouting and infiltration services during both war and peacetime scenarios. Dubbed ‘black shadow’ by its founding members, the first iteration of this group could have been considered nothing more than a scrappy mercenary unit until its acquisition by an unknown benefactor in 2107. The nature of the acquisition is still largely shrouded by bureaucracy, but the visible outcome was an economic boom and the exponential growth of the unit into what it is today.

The unit is led, for the most part, by a trio referred to as ‘the nexus,’ and structures its pilots based on skill and experience. The PMC pushes for efficiency and discretion above all else, but also encourages the adoption of personnel and contracts from all reaches of the universe to meet their push for diversity and expansion.

Please Note:
At this time Star Citizen remains unfinished, as such we expect no commitment from Mantis pilots beyond enjoying the game and making alliances. The role-play element of the organisation will come in upon official release. (Probably in about 20 years)

Manifesto

  • Mantis aims to provide reliable and effective scouting and infiltration services to all who come bearing contracts.
  • Mantis will not cherry-pick contracts, but reserves the right to turn away any that it deems damaging to the PMCs integrity or reputation.
  • Mantis maintains that its pilots will be responsible for their own knowledge of their ship and systems and are expected to be capable of advanced manoeuvres at a bare minimum.
  • Mantis maintains that its pilots reserve the right to fire upon any ship, carrier, station, settlement, or individual that they deem hostile.
  • Any contracts failed by Mantis pilots will receive a full refund, and the pilots in question will take part in an internal investigation.
  • Mantis is NOT a defence company, contracts not pertaining to scouting or infiltration may be turned away.
  • Mantis reserves the right to disband from or disavow any associate or partnership organisations it deems damaging to the PMCs integrity or reputation.

Charter

Below are the rules that govern Mantis pilots’ behaviour. These must be adhered to, these are NOT guidelines.

  • Mantis pilots will fight for Mantis, and accept contracts approved by Mantis. Accepting third-party contracts will prompt an internal investigation.
  • Mantis pilots shall not engage in piracy unless instructed to, a KOS order will be issued on the rogue pilot, and they will be subsequently annexed from the organisation, no questions asked.
  • For smaller offences, such as accidentally damaging other ships within an armistice zone, Mantis offers a three-strike system:
  • 1: Pilot will be given a disciplinary, and will continue to operate in accordance with the charter.
  • 2: Internal investigation will occur, pilot may be shadowed by a pilot of higher rank for a period of no less than three [3] hours.
  • 3: KOS order issued, pilot annexed from the PMC.
  • Mantis pilots are given free reign to attack any ships they deem hostile, but are expected to report to a pilot of higher rank after the incident.
  • Pilots must be able to provide probable cause for entry when attempting infiltration without a contract.
  • Pilots attempting infiltration of larger ships must be loaded for bear, but must attempt to remain largely unseen.
  • Scouting without a contract is acceptable in all circumstances, the more information a pilot can gather, the better.
