MoX is a multi-game guild created in 1998 which puts fair-play and teamplay first and foremost.
The Malevolents of Xibalba, known more commonly by the acronym of MoX, started life as a small guild in one of the earliest MMOs, Ultima Online. It was here that the guild first came about, starting small and growing to the size it is today. To give the guild some background and a matching theme, one member, known as Brin, came up with the idea of using Ancient Mayan culture as a base. Specifically the Mayan underworld! Thus the guild took that for its name, and being a PvP guild at the time, wanted to cause mischief and evil to those around them, they became the Malevolents of Xibalba. After Ultima Online, MoX moved into Dark Age of Camelot were it grew in size and reputation.
With the release of other games, MoX expanded, taking a proud place as one of the paramount outfits on the European server, Werner in the Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter, Planetside. Ever the underdogs, MoX chose to side with the Terran Republic. Armed with substandard equipment they became a force to reckoned with. Taking missions others would choose to ignore, they cut holes into new continents and attacked behind enemy lines. MoX forces are still on Auraxis fighting against the so called heroes and freedom fighters from the New Conglomerate, more like traitors, rebels and terrorists.. Then there is the Vanu Sovereignty a deadly post-humanist cult of religious nut jobs and techno-evangelist reminding MoX that space is a dangerous place.
MoX floated around for a while, flickering from game to game, never really finding anything that could be considered home. It was around this time that MoX lost its long time leader, and found itself floating in Limbo. A major restructuring occurred and MoX found itself with a new leader. Raging Speedhorn.
With new management in place, and with it a sense of purpose, MoX dived straight back into its games. From the humble days of its origins, MoX has grown into a community of over 400 active members originating from 3 continents, playing in more then 5 games continuously and a lot more sporadically.
Across numerous eras, the Malevolents of Xibalba have survived and risen from their ancient Mayan heritage, into a vast and diverse syndicate of like-minded individuals. With their ruthless commitment and strategic acumen, they have on each new frontier worked together in forging a place in the hearts and minds of their friends and enemies alike. Never willing to accept the status quo, nor simply rest on their laurels, they pushed forward into the stars; a new galaxy ripe for conquest.
Malevolents of Xibalba have players from all walks of life. With the ever increasing demand from real life activities, MoX will not come between you and the game you want to play.
MoX is a community open to all players interested in all manners of gameplay, many of us will most likely try a little bit of each. Do you want to start your own fleet or maybe you want to be a great industrial tycoon? Go right ahead, MoX may even help you reach your goal, maybe another member wants to join you for a while. The only thing MoX will demand is that you show up for guild activites you have signed up for. If you feel you need to fly solo for a while there will no emails telling you that ”your not pulling weight” or anything like that.
MoX consists of both PvPers and PvEers. There is no difference between a PvP Moxie and a PvE Moxie, a Moxie is a Moxie. There will most likely be Moxie enjoying a bit of both. The important thing is that we treat the game as a game, and respect our fellow players. Attitude is more important than what your preferred playstyle may be. Be gracious to noobs, humble in victory, noble in defeat, respectful to our adversaries, helpful to strangers and guildmates alike, and you’ll fit right in.
MoX is looking for 18+ mature and friendly players with fair-play and team-play as their principal values. We do not ask what you can do for MoX, we ask what MoX can do for you!
