To Boldly go where no-one has gone before

History

Disclaimer We are quite open as to the level of roleplay anyone wishes to engage in. The rules are written in a roleplay manner but are nonetheless meant to be a framework in which to have a good time and for everyone to enjoy playing together.

Org activities Our primary gameplay loop will consist of security missions (not bounty hunting) and various legal contracts within reason to engage in, emergency beacon response, explorative expeditions (once implemented).
Cargo hauling, mining & salvage expeditions will only be engaged in through rp sessions. We will not waste org members time by spending hours flying a ship around doing next to nothing without cause or reason.

Founded as a loose federation of worlds, the coalition of free worlds during the Messer era, the Federation has expanded into a centralised governmental entity and renamed the United federation of planets. Founded on egalitarian principles, Starfleet as the explorative and military arm of the Federation serves not just as the driver for exploration, but also of diplomatic, security, humanitarian and peacekeeping actions throughout the federation, UEE and beyond.

The United Federation of Planets has thus expanded to include several member worlds, each with equal representation in the federation Council directed by an elected president from amongst the council members to serve as the head of state. While limited in power, the president serves as a position that proposes policy to the council for consideration and in times of emergency, dictates decisions.

The Prime Directive circa 2795

The Prime Directive prohibits Starfleet personnel and spacecraft from interfering in the normal development of any society, and mandates that any Starfleet vessel or crew member is expendable to prevent violation of this rule.
As the right of each sentient species to live in accordance with its normal cultural evolution is considered sacred, no Starfleet personnel may interfere with the normal and healthy development of alien life and culture. Such interference includes introducing superior knowledge, strength, or technology to a world whose society is incapable of handling such advantages wisely. Starfleet personnel may not violate this Prime Directive, even to save their lives and/or their ship, unless they are acting to right an earlier violation or an accidental contamination of said culture. This directive takes precedence over any and all other considerations, and carries with it the highest moral obligation.
