Following the turbulent era of the oppressive Messer regime, the galaxy was ripe for change. In this pivotal time, the Nebula Coalition emerged as a bastion of opportunity and camaraderie for freelance pilots seeking to chart their own destinies. Formed by a diverse collective of seasoned pilots and visionary entrepreneurs, the coalition was driven by a shared vision of unity, prosperity, and exploration beyond the traditional confines of established factions. Its inception marked a turning point in the post-Messer era, offering a new frontier for those who yearned for freedom and autonomy in the cosmos of Star Citizen.
As freelance pilots flocked to our cause, the Nebula Coalition faced the challenge of organization and cohesion. With only 14 pilots at the time of the decision to form a squadron, Squadron 14 was born, symbolizing our humble beginnings and the camaraderie shared among our founding members. However, as recruitment efforts expanded and more pilots joined our ranks, it became apparent that a higher level of organization was needed. Thus, a wing, elevated above the squadron, was created to house multiple squadrons and facilitate future growth.
Despite the growth of the Nebula Coalition, the decision to form new squadrons has remained elusive. The requirement of a 2/3 vote to approve the formation of a new squadron has consistently fallen short, resulting in only one squadron being formed in the entirety of the coalition’s existence. Nevertheless, this singular squadron stands as a testament to the unity and perseverance of our members, who continue to uphold our values of integrity, resourcefulness, and pioneering spirit in the face of adversity.
The early days of the Nebula Coalition were marked by resilience and determination as it navigated the uncharted territories of the galactic frontier. Striving to carve out a distinct identity in the ever-evolving political landscape, the organization faced formidable challenges and fierce competition. However, its unwavering commitment to its principles and the unyielding spirit of its members propelled the coalition forward, earning it a reputation as a formidable force among independent spacefarers.

Though our focus shifted towards freelance endeavors, we understood the importance of maintaining military readiness. Thus, the structured chain of command and ranks within the Nebula Coalition serves as a foundation for effective coordination and response when our military capabilities are needed to safeguard against emerging threats or protect our interests.

Preamble:
We, the members of the Nebula Coalition, united in our resolve to ensure that tyranny shall never again darken the skies of the Star Citizen universe, hereby establish this charter to govern our organization and guide our actions in the pursuit of freedom, prosperity, and exploration.
Article I: Purpose
The purpose of the Nebula Coalition is twofold: to provide a sanctuary for freelance pilots seeking liberation from oppression and to safeguard against the rise of tyranny by fostering a community built on principles of freedom, unity, and resilience.
Article II: Principles
Freedom: We steadfastly uphold the principles of individual freedom and autonomy, recognizing that every member has the right to chart their own destiny free from oppression or coercion.
Unity: We stand united against tyranny, fostering a spirit of solidarity and mutual support among our members to ensure that we remain strong and resilient in the face of external threats.
Prosperity: We are committed to creating opportunities for economic prosperity and growth within our organization, promoting trade, entrepreneurship, and innovation as pathways to individual and collective success.
Exploration: We embrace the spirit of exploration and discovery as a means of expanding our horizons and pushing the boundaries of knowledge and possibility, while also guarding against potential threats to our freedom and security.
Article III: Governance
Leadership: The Nebula Coalition shall be led by Command and Squadron staff, elected by the membership, who shall be responsible for guiding the organization, making strategic decisions, and safeguarding against the resurgence of tyranny.
Membership: Membership in the Nebula Coalition is contingent upon a commitment to our principles and values, as well as a willingness to actively contribute to the collective welfare and security of the organization.
Rights and Responsibilities: Members of the Nebula Coalition have the right to participate in organizational activities, voice their opinions, and contribute to the common good, while also bearing the responsibility to conduct themselves with integrity, respect, and vigilance in safeguarding against tyranny.
Article IV: Collaboration
Alliances: The Nebula Coalition may enter into alliances and partnerships with other organizations, groups, or factions that share our commitment to freedom and democracy, fostering mutual support, cooperation, and collaboration in defense of our shared values.
Trade and Commerce: The Nebula Coalition promotes free trade and commerce among its members, facilitating economic exchange, resource sharing, and mutual assistance to promote prosperity and resilience within our organization and beyond.
Article V: Amendments
This charter may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the Council of Elders, with the approval of the membership, to adapt to changing circumstances or address emerging threats to our freedom and security.
