Hi! Welcome, welcome, what can we do for you today? Looking to buy or sell? Do you need something moved, or disposed of? Maybe you got skills in these departments, look for the small Recruitment sign in the back, and we’ll take care of you.
Deep within the lawless expanse of the Cathcart system—a galaxy-spanning junkyard of sprawling debris fields, rusted battleship hulks, and forgotten wrecks—lurks the Nightbreed.
Born from a volatile cocktail of hardened bikers, disgraced former soldiers, reckless adrenaline junkies, and desperate citizens looking to strike it rich, this ruthless collective carved its name into the void. Operating out of the shadows of the infamous makeshift station Spider and hidden off-grid platforms, they transformed into a thriving enterprise. Once chillingly described by a survivor as “an industry of violence,” the organisation lives and dies by a single, terrifying mantra: “One creed, Nightbreed.”
The syndicate’s operations are as diverse as they are brutal. They specialize in high-stakes piracy, launching lightning-fast ambushes on unsuspecting cargo haulers, alongside calculated armed robbery and lucrative smuggling runs through treacherous jump points. When targets need to vanish or targets need a lesson, the Nightbreed excel at kidnapping, bounty hunting, and murder for hire. No ship insurance will cover a run into Cathcart, and anyone crossing paths with the Nightbreed quickly learns why.
Their history is forged in the dark corners of the system, where individual cutthroats and clans fight tooth and nail to survive the labyrinth of decommissioned hulls and toxic waste dumps. While other gangs fracture under greed and betrayal, the Nightbreed weaponize loyalty, binding their diverse recruits into a singular, unstoppable pack.
Today, you can find them in the bars of Spider, racing their bikes on Daymar, and in cities far from the watchful eyes of the UEE Navy. —Here the Nightbreed operate with impunity, proving that modern problems sometimes need medieval answers.
