The Nighty Knight Union is a laid back, 18+, and LGBTQ+ friendly, militant anarchist org.
We like to have fun, be chill, and make stupid jokes while goofing around in SC.
Welcome to the Nighty Knight Union (NKU) org page, one of the more “unique” Star Citizen orgs in the ‘verse. We are a rainbow flag of mercenaries, industrialists, pirates, criminals, bounty hunters, and we don’t shy away from a fight. If you decide to join, we ask you to be willing to engage in our community, have fun, but also lock in when needed.
We have a lot of org literature. We know, ugh reading, a SC players worst nightmare. Trust us, though, it helps both of us. We’ve broken down as much of the important stuff into pieces so that you can get a good idea of who we are. We recommend reading the rest of this page and checking out our rules to see if we might be what you’re looking for in an org. We also have a lovely trailer below that gives a taste of our vibe!
Do you have to be LGBTQ+ to join?
Nope! But you are expected to be cool with those who are. Our LGBT-ness is not our mission statement, we just happen to be are a bunch of like-minded people who like to be gay and do crime.
Do I need to be 18+?
Yes, we make raunchy jokes.
How “woke” are you guys?
Being real here, we keep it simple. You can identify as whatever you want but if you expect people to call you anything outside of he/she/they, it might be a bit much of an ask.
We will make jokes about our own neurodivergencies. It is in good fun, we have all known each other for a while, but it can seem weird to new people. We operate under the assumption that as long as people are comfortable with being poked fun at, we will do so. If not, clearly state it and people are respectful of your wishes.
This does NOT give you permission to be an asshole. Your best bet is hop in VC, get a feel for how we chat, and go from there. Ask questions if unsure.
Our vibe?
Chaotic (but wholesome…usually). We get serious when we need to get stuff done. You gotta be able to lock in if the situation demands it, but loosen up when things are more chill.
In game, we operate as a chaotic force. Sometimes for good, sometimes not. In one session, we could be helping some poor random player out of a bind. Minutes later, we could stealing loot from someone else. And then we usually end up exploding for some reason or another (typically self-inflicted accidents).
We are a small, social, and active group who like to nerd about the game, poke fun at each other in a friendly manner, and help each other out. Our group is pretty diverse so there’s likely someone you can vibe with.
How active are you guys?
Our org activity spikes and dips, usually following the patch cycles. Meaning we are more active at the start of a new patch and then usually dwindle until the next. Sometimes we have people playing the whole time, sometimes we don’t. Just how it is with a game like SC.
Size?
Plan is to stay small. How small? Not sure, but for now we don’t have any caps in place. Point is, we value having a tighter community over a massive one.
Time commitment?
Minimal. You are not expected to play the game all the time or partake in events.
We DO ask you, like, play with us? There’s no point to joining if you just lurk and you WILL be kicked if we don’t hear from you for like…months(?).
We try to be pretty chill with people taking long breaks and such, so long as they pop in every now and then to hang with us.
If you do get kicked, you can always come back when you have time to join us.
Timezone?
Majority of us are in the North American timezones (UTC−06:00).
Weekdays, most people tend to hop on around 2PM PST/5 PM EST. On weekends, people tend to be around all times of day.
We do have European members as well, but they tend to play closer to N.A. times.
What loops and what do you do?
We essentially do anything that sounds fun. Could be combat, could be cargo running, could be taking screenshots as a group. Depends on the vibe and how we’re feeling, but most people are usually up for trying anything so long as we get to hang out and enjoy each other’s company. We don’t shy away from PvP, either, be it on the ground or in space.
Piracy and crime?
Yep, we engage in that, too. Crime pays pretty well!
Griefing?
We do NOT trawl around jump points or OMs, blowing people up randomly for shits and giggles. We WILL rob people or steal their ships for salvage, but we avoid doing straight up murdering for no gain. See our rules for more info.
Events?
Events are something we like doing and try to do when we can. However, they take a lot of time and effort to plan and execute, and we have limited volunteers to do so. Meaning events aren’t something we do consistently.
Wanna try helping/leading your own? PLEASE! PLEASE DO IT! We encourage members to host events and try stuff out.
However, when we DO host events, we get up to some fun stuff: Hathor, the Worm, Rock Breaker, TSG, and even some RP-lite events that have proved to be a lot of fun.
Beginner friendly?
We like to think we are. We will teach you what we can and help you get on your feet as long as you’re ready to engage with the game and earn your own credits.
Uniforms?
For RP events, we will ask peeps to wear specific stuff but otherwise, no uniforms. We value each members sense of style. Good drip is the endgame, after all.
Org dues?
Nope, we don’t require any sort of funds or “taxes”. We earn what we need ourselves. Do not beg other members for money, that’s just rude.
If you hear us talk about org points, don’t worry about it, it’s just a joke lol
Exclusive?
No, you can be in other orgs so long as they are not hostile towards us. If they are, well that’s just awkward, isn’t it?
In short, a good fit is: * Someone who is willing to joke around, but understands when not to take things too far. * You are NOT looking for a super structured or organized group. Sorry, but we have a small team with limited time. We DO appreciate volunteers and if you wanna do events, by all means, we give our members the opportunity to lead their own. * People will say some weird shit in the Discord. Comes with the territory when you have a diverse group of freaks (and we use that term with love. If it offends you, understandable, but you’d probably not like our humor) * Respect people’s pronouns/default to “they”. * You engage with us and the org as whole. * Ask questions! We will help! * Just be cool!

If you are reading this, this means you read the entire FAQ. Thank you! Hopefully this gives you a good idea about who we are.
We stand against the irresponsible UEE, and the corporate goliaths that watch over us, and sell us back our rights with a price. The Messer era may have ended, but the oppression simply changed form. Now, most actions that give you a low crime stat simply cost money, if the penalty for a crime is a fine, then that law only exists for the lower class. They make us toil away in their mines if we can’t pay a simple fine. Space age slavery…
We will lead civil rights activities for citizens, protest unjust actions by the corporations of Stanton, and ensure the liberties many fought for during the Messer era are not encroached on anymore.
We won’t rest until the ‘Verse is a fair place for everyone.
SOCIALIZE. ORGANIZE. UNIONIZE
Some crimes are forgivable, but some are not: Pirates attacking the independent merchant, terrorists killing innocent civilians, and dirty corporate enforcers unlawfully scanning you inside your hangar for a shakedown deserve to be hunted down.
Look, we need to sustain ourselves somehow, even if that means taking jobs for the corps. We don’t look down on those who do. Play the system, but be ready to stand up for your rights if they try to weasel their way out of a payment.
In order to sustain our independence, we embark on various industrial professions, such as salvaging and mining. In the future, we plan to use the resources we gather to establish our own, independent compound free from the oppressive corps.
A core profession of any star system. Moving goods is vital for the health of the people to make sure they get what they need.
We all need to look out for each other. Extend a helping hand to those in need of rescue, be it in space or on the ground. Or if you simply need a tow back to the station after your power plant sputtered out because nobody makes quality components anymore. We have your back.
The main goal is to have fun in the game. We like to mix our time playing the game and pushing the limits of what Star Citizen has to offer. If you have any other ideas or suggestions, feel free to bring them up!
Crime Stats: If you get a Crime Stat 3 or above, make sure to clear it before meeting up with non-criminal/lawful members (or at the least inform them of your CS!). You don’t want any bounty hunters crashing the party ;)
Piracy: No limits on piracy, as long as what you do does not fall under griefing (see below). Kill, plunder, and steal as long as it’s NOT your own org mates.
Griefing has been thrown around the SC community around a lot. We constitute griefing as things not allowed by CIG’s Terms of Service. Do not engage in ToS Violations. Killing innocent people inside stations, blocking elevators with crates, or using exploits in ways that harm other players outside the spirit of the game and ToS is forbidden. If someone goes what we think is too far, we will either give a warning or just instant boot from the org.
If a rainbow flag sends shivers down your spine, this Union isn’t for cowards like you.
If the thought of pronouns gets your blood boiling, this Union isn’t for weirdos like you.
If you’re a fascist bootlicker, this Union isn’t for sheep like you.
We are a diverse group of people and being part of our organization means having to coexist with different people. Seriously, we just want to have fun. We aren’t perfect, but we try to improve how we can. We won’t compromise our identity, however.
Not sure how someone prefers to be called or identified? Feel free to ask! We won’t bite if you approach with an open mind.
Be kind and respectful. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Respect people’s pronouns and identities. When in doubt, us their name.
Slurs or derogatory comments towards others will NEVER be tolerated. Again, no racism, bigotry, homophobia, etc.
Swearing is fine (we’re adults after all), but don’t go overboard. Keep it to the classic, non-derogatory terms.
No personal attacks or harassment against other members or players. Do not cross the line between joking and attacking someone. Shit talking is a fine line to walk. Be smart about what you say.
Joining the Discord is required if you want to participate. We do all our communication and planning there, so if you can’t join, it makes it very difficult to play with other members.
18+ only due to topics discussed and memes posted.
Be helpful to other members. Give a helping hand when you can.
Avoid discussing political matters. Despite the political theming of this group, it’s not the main focus. The main focus is to vibe and hang out with like-minded people while enjoying the game. Things can get ugly quickly if you bring up the wrong topic, so to avoid any awkward chats, best to leave this one be.
Do not friendly fire your fellow org members, not even as a joke, during any sort of mission or activity. The game wastes enough time as it is with bugs and issues, don’t make it worse. If you want to fight each other for sport, make sure BOTH parties agree. We have had too many incidents where things get out of hand and becomes a headache.
No griefing: This means follow CIGs TOS aka no padramming or using glitches/abusing bugs to kill people. As CIG says:
“Stream sniping, pad ramming, firing into armistice zones, or utilizing various exploits to grief others… these are just a few examples of excessive griefing, which we do not tolerate.” Source
If it’s bannable by CIG, its sure as hell bannable here
For other player interactions, we don’t want to restrict people too much as every situation and playstyle is unique. The overall goal of this org is to have fun and share that fun with other org and non-org members through Star Citizen. However, this sometimes means we will need to kill to preserve an operation, eliminate potential spies, or just killing to steal loot. As the game progresses, we might finally get reputational reasons not to pull the trigger, but for now, it is shoot first, ask questions later (though we encourage peaceful solutions when possible). We can collectively decide what we think where the line between legitimate PVP becomes griefing as a group.
Ultimately, it will be up to the admins to treat each incident on a case by case basis and we hope you can trust our judgment on that.
This also extends to interactions with other org members. Remember, NO FRIENDLY FIRE UNLESS MUTUALLY AGREED. We all mess around and have fun, but if someone tells you to stop, YOU STOP. Bring it up to the org staff so we can discuss it and figure out a resolution. We all want to have fun together after all.
We’d like to think our rules are fair and reasonable such that you shouldn’t need more than one warning.
In short: Be civil, be kind, and have fun. Respect your fellow human
If someone happens to do or say something that violates these rules, the org leaders will investigate the issue. Members who are found violating the above rules will be immediately removed from the group and banned from joining back. All other issues will be voted on by other senior members to determine the best course of action.
