Paddling Towards a New Horizon.
The Duck Squadron, a peculiar unit within the United Empire of Earth’s Navy, traces its roots to the early days of human expansion into the galaxy. During the initial colonization efforts, a small group of pilots, known for their unconventional tactics and a penchant for avian symbolism, were assigned to a remote outpost on the planet Quack-7. Their ship, a modified Bengal Carrier, was affectionately dubbed the “Mother Mallard.” Over time, the Duck Squadron developed a unique culture, blending military discipline with a lighthearted camaraderie. Their insignia featured a Mallard with the backdrop of space, a symbol of their adventurous spirit and willingness to explore the furthest reaches of space. They became renowned for their daring missions, often involving infiltration of enemy territory or outpost construction operations in dangerous sectors. The squadron’s true mettle was tested during the Vanduul War. Despite their small size, the Duck Squadron played a pivotal role in several key battles. Their unorthodox tactics, combined with their exceptional piloting skills, often caught the Vanduul off guard. One particularly daring mission involved a small team of Duck Squadron pilots using a clever ruse to lure two Vanduul Mother Ships into a trap, resulting in a momentous victory for the UEE’s Navy. Even after the Vanduul War, the Duck Squadron continued to serve with distinction. Their legacy lives on in the hearts of many Star Citizen pilots, who admire their courage, humor, and unwavering loyalty to the United Empire. Today, the Duck Squadron remains a symbol of the human spirit’s ability to overcome adversity and achieve the impossible.
