A relatively young company formed in 2941 on Terra, Obskura was created by a group of UEE veterans and former Intelligence operatives. Frustrated by the overwhelming presence of fly-by-night mercenary and bounty-hunting outfits with little actual training, they sought to introduce a more measured and professional alternative.
Business grew steadily and several operatives were brought into the group in the following years, helping to establish a presence in over 20 systems across the UEE and expanding available services from purely combat focused to Intel, Organizational Security Consulting, Exfiltration and Evacuation, and even a small trade retinue able to help equip and arm regional militias as well as providing basic defensive training to smaller colonies and outposts.
Yearly crime increases and the start of The Vanduul War in 2945 caused an explosion in demand for security services and Obskura has expanded to fulfill this new need.
