Led by the ruthless Obsidian, this syndicate is a powerhouse of trade and terror. They move the galaxy’s most vital cargo with surgical precision. To The Obsidian Order, commerce is war: follow the contract and prosper; interfere with the flow, and they will balance the ledger in blood.

History

The Obsidian Order Syndicate didn’t start in a boardroom or a throne room; it began in the soot-stained belly of the Blackrock Spire, a massive industrial hub that collapsed during the Great Devaluation. Amidst the chaos, a nameless dockworker—now known only as Obsidian—organized a small crew of freight-haulers to protect their shipments from starving scavengers. He realized that in a world without law, the person who controls the flow of goods controls the people. He goes by the name “Obsidian” to represent both a valuable commodity and a lethal edge.

  • The Rise:
The Syndicate’s first major move was the Siege of the Shipping Routes. When rival gangs tried to tax Obsidian’s caravans, he didn’t negotiate. He spent a year’s worth of profits on high-grade military hardware and wiped out three rival factions in a single night. This established the “Obsidian Standard”: Total efficiency, zero tolerance.
  • Today
The Syndicate is the backbone of the sector’s economy. If you need medical supplies, heavy machinery, or rare minerals moved through “dead space,” you call them. Their fleet consists of Iron-Clad Assaults—massive cargo ships that look like flying fortresses.
  • They operate on a strict code called The Golden Weight:

1. The Cargo is Sacred: A contract is never broken.

2. The Price is Fixed: No haggling, no bribes.

3. The Response is Final: If a shipment is intercepted, the Syndicate doesn’t just recover the goods; they dismantle the interceptors’ entire organization to ensure it never happens again.

  • Current Status:
The Obsidian Order is now more of a shadow-state than a gang. They own the ports, the fuel, and the ledgers. While they prefer the quiet hum of commerce, their “Enforcer Wings” are staffed by veteran mercenaries who treat combat with the same cold, calculated precision as an audit. To cross The Obsidian Order is to find yourself not just dead, but erased from the economy entirely.

Manifesto

The Obsidian Manifesto: “The Unbroken Flow” The Manifesto is the philosophical spine of the Syndicate, etched into the bulkhead of every command ship. It outlines their belief that the universe is naturally chaotic, and only through the disciplined movement of resources can any form of “truth” exist. The Core Tenets:
  • Wealth is Gravity: Power does not come from titles or crowns, but from being the center around which all resources move. To control the flow is to control the universe.
  • The Debt of Interference: Any force that interrupts the flow of cargo creates a “void.” That void must be filled with the blood or assets of the offender until the ledger is balanced.
  • Silence is Safety: A loud merchant is a target; a silent Syndicate is a ghost. We operate in the shadows so our gold can shine in the light.
  • Obsidian Resolve: We are like the stone—born of heat and pressure, beautiful to behold, but sharp enough to sever the hand that tries to shatter us.

Charter

The Syndicate Charter: “The Black Ledger” The Charter is the legal framework that governs the internal operations of the syndicate, The Obsidian Order. It is a cold, clinical document that treats every member as an asset and every life as a line item, but is always valuable to the Syndicate.

I. The Command Structure (The Core)

The Syndicate is led by Obsidian. His word is the “Final Entry.” Below him sit the Five Auditors, each overseeing a sector of trade (Arms, Bio-Tech, Raw Minerals, Information, and Logistics).

II. The Covenant of the Haul

Once a contract is stamped with the Obsidian Seal, it becomes a “Sacred Debt.” A member who loses cargo through negligence is stripped of rank; a member who steals cargo is “liquidated” to recoup the loss.

III. The Rights of Retribution

The Charter grants every Captain the “Right of Total War” if a shipment is fired upon. They are authorized to divert all local Syndicate resources to eliminate the threat, regardless of the collateral damage to local economies.

IV. The Tithe of the Void

Ten percent of all profits are diverted to the “Void Fund”—a massive war chest used exclusively for bribes, hush money, and the hiring of elite mercenaries for “market corrections.”

V. The Exit Clause

There is no resignation from the Obsidian Order. One leaves only through retirement (granted after 30 years of flawless service) or through the “Final Audit” (death).
