OGRE’s story begins with three renegades who shared a hunger for freedom and fortune in the lawless reaches of the ‘verse.

Glance was a lone wolf—a once-promising freelancer whose independent streak got him exiled from his former crew. Known for his sharp instincts and uncanny ability to spot opportunities others missed, he thrived on danger, chasing contracts in the galaxy’s roughest territories. Cast out and disillusioned, Glance sought allies who shared his thirst for independence but understood the value of loyalty to those who earned it.

Awkward, a Navy veteran, had spent years in military operations, living by rules he no longer believed in. Restless and itching to get back into action, he saw the Navy’s restrictions as shackles, holding him back from using his skills to their full potential. With his unmatched combat experience and engineering expertise, he knew he could build something better—an outfit that took action instead of sitting on red tape.

Then there was Gnaurl, a former UEE pilot who’d traded his government wings for the freedom of working on the edges of civilization. Gnaurl had been a prodigy in the pilot’s seat, but his disdain for bureaucracy and his connections to the gritty, practical world of Drake Interplanetary made him a thorn in the side of his former superiors. With his inside knowledge and ties to Drake—a manufacturer known for rugged ships perfect for off-the-books jobs—Gnaurl brought the final piece to the founding crew of OGRE.

The three met through a series of run-ins across neutral space stations and under-the-radar jobs. Each recognized something in the others: a shared distrust of authority, a wealth of skills that complemented their own, and a willingness to take the kinds of risks that could yield massive rewards. In the cramped cargo hold of a salvaged ship, they forged a pact to create an organization free from restrictions and powered by opportunity.

Thus, the Outerworld Galactic Resource Enterprise was born.

Starting with just a handful of contracts, OGRE quickly gained a reputation as a crew that got the job done—no matter the complexity or legality. As the organization expanded, OGRE formalized its divisions: Operations/Observation for combat and recon missions, Geology/Generations for mining and extraction, Repair/Reclamation for salvage and maintenance, and Exchange/Escort for trade runs and high-risk deliveries. Each division was built around the skills and vision of its founders, blending lawful and unlawful activities into a seamless operation that turned every sector of the ‘verse into potential profit.
