The Omicron Fleet / OMF

The Omicron Fleet will be a leader in exploring the galaxy in all its forms. Some will contribute greatness in tracking down bounties while others will be those bounties. New systems will be found and named in honor of the fleet and its members. Whatever the cause may the victory be great.

1. The primary goal of The Omicron Fleet is to create a fun, casual and collaborative gaming environment for its members. We are a welcoming community that encourages people to be themselves.

2. The sovereignty of The Omicron Fleet shall over the whole of its territory, including: the forum, the blog, social media and Michael / Dave’s back yard.

3. Public associations whose actions are aimed at violating the integrity of The Omicron Fleet, at undermining it’s security, at instigating personal, social, racial, religious, national or galactic strife shall be prohibited.

4. The Omicron Fleet shall guarantee the equality of rights and freedoms of its members, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, race, nationality, language, origin, place of residence, official status, religion, convictions, public associations and political ideology amongst other circumstances.

5. No member of The Omicron Fleet shall be subject to torture, violence, personal abuse, implosion or time paradoxes, however a frozen trout may be used for punishment at the discretion of your peers.

6. Everyone has the right to association, including the right to assemble and take part on our forums, in games, and social media as frequently as they desire. The right to throw parties, booze-ups and barbecues is also guaranteed.

7. The collection, use and dissemination of information about the private life of a fleet member without their consent is prohibited, should any interpersonal disputes arise the council’s attention and mediation shall be guaranteed.

8. The Omicron Fleet stands for diversity and reason, and as such its members, regardless of age, gaming experience and other circumstances, shall recognize each other as equals and use respectful yet casual conversation. Cursing is allowed but don’t be a dick about it.

9. The Omicron Fleet’s structure shall consist of only three ranks: Council Member, Squadron Leader and Pilot. The structure has been designed to balance stability with accountability and consists of a mixture of permanent and elected elements.

9a. Council Member – There are three permanent members of the council and two positions that any fleet member can run for election to fill and if successful, hold for a period of six months.

9b. Squadron Leader – The Squadron Leader for each game is elected from and by the pilots every six months. Once a division reaches 20 people, a second division for the same game can be created and a new Squadron Leader elected.

9c. Pilot – Everyone else, to ensure healthy competition awards and medals are used to reward excellence.

9d. Exceptions – If the fleet has less than ten members at any time the rank system is temporarily suspended and all decisions are placed to popular vote.
