The Ordis of the Sanctified ‘Ðrakken is a militant knight order in search of knowledge. We were the crusaders that investigated the nuts and bolts of reality way back when following his way.

Science does not have all the answers but common sense does always help.

History

Grin so we were one of the crusader orders back in his day and age. We follow the rules set down by his way. I have traveled the verse looking for answers and found answers in the simplest and craziest of places.

I asked why of his way´s faith and they told me take it on faith. I still don´t agree with that but they keep telling me as long as I keep coming up with the same answers they have, they see only good in asking questions. The order died off once because we were a wee bit psychotic, we are still refereed to Irift in some countries. The armor was steel when most people had bronze and we coated it in cooling glass. A little greek fire dripping off the armour and swords and armies start break screaming and running away. If only people had behaved. All ancient history aside the one child order dead with the founder burned alive poor Vlad. So the last time around a very kindly old priest decided to give the reconsecration of the order a chance to live past twenty four, he decided to saint him for some reason. So the name changed from the Order of Drakkon to the Ordis of the Sanctified ‘Ðraconis. Or Ordis Sancti ‘Ðraconis. It sorta worked well he lived a long time but scary fellow that dude.

So we have moved the Order house several times and currently located on Surfer’s Paradise. The mother house is still on earth in this little town called Roma. We make our Knights go through our training then the Church’s training, then the military’s where they live training, then they have to pass their local bar. It makes things simple for us.

So being a militant ordis we follow orders of the militaries we owe oaths to and often provide help to the local governments and help those in need when we can. We got into ship building way back at the start back on earth over a bet over a race car, would it be faster with the seats in or out. I some times wonder if we build them out duty to ask why, or simply because we are all adrenaline jenkies…

The order was founded to ask the question why. Originally it was simply called a crusader order of the holy roman catholic church then it became the Order of the Dragons a sect of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, since we have mostly merged with the main branch with brief periods were people question our right to one soul plus one soul equals one soul only if all agree. Amé being both soul and love in french it is so easier to say but harder to comprehend.

The Commander is always a Knight Commander it is spelled with an ‘Ð mark to signify they are the Knight Commander Actual, not someone running around with a fake title. Some times it is Lord or Lady, some times it is a Crown Commander, some times it is cross or grail knight, but it is always someone chosen by the faith not the Ordis. In some countries it is LCÐ and other LCÐSÐ depends on the local laws. Where the L stands for a person of standing a Lord or Lady in their own name. All that requires is two Esquires that have a kid born of the mother’s hips.
So we make all our knights go through the exam and live up the bar they set. Military service plus ethics of the bar, and morality of the church is what makes a Knight a Knight.

Several times in the past it has hired out legionaries only to find out the cause that was agreed to, is the not the battlefield the warriors find them selves on. This lead to the creation of Drakken Wold by one of the Lord Commanders Amortis Vas’Drakken in the first technology age on earth. Drakken Wold is an alliance of mercenaries that trade information. It eventually ended up being part of OSD to be able to grant diplomatic passports to the agents with critical info in hot spot around the world.

In the current age the order has an inner circle and outer circle. Those in the inner circle are the Knights of the Order and are chosen for ethics and morals that run parallel to the orders. Those in the outer circle have joined the order seeking the protection the order provides to easy money from lucrative contracts as a merc or trader representing the order. They represent potential but have not been forged in crucible of life that the knights all have gone through.

The orders roots in space are quite lost to the ages but from a revival of the Ordis as the Sanctified Dragons by Pope John Paul the Second, and the old Nation of the Unites States of America’s US Space
Command finds a middle aged general by United States standards and quite a young one by his father Icelandic standards, leading the Ordis into Space to rescue victims of the second expansive gold
rush the main asteroid belt.

Manifesto

The order is looking for answers to life. In this pursuit space and science must be explored to their fullest possible, as we do not know where we will find the answers we are looking for.

That said the order understands that if you can not look yourself in the mirror, shaving gets really hard. Joking aside the order has a strong moral outlook on life that breaks down to treat others the way you want to be treated, unless they attack you, then retaliate with all force possible to warn others from trying this. This tends to simply down to walk quietly and carry a big stick. The order respects other beliefs as long those beliefs respect basic human rights. The order sees aliens as people with different genetic structure, so deserving of basic human rights as well.

This gets them in trouble when they start going on holy crusades against smugglers dealing in human trafficking and other ills. As there is always some one making a lot of money off these activities.

Charter

First this is kinda of confusing for some people but Orders contain subtypes bases on millennia old rules.
Ordis are founded by people who were found to be saints in their life time and beautified over more than
two hundred years, look up the beautification of Saint Mary an unusual roman, if you want to understand the process.
Orders are every order that is not an Ordis or Ordo.
Ordo are orders made of priests.

Ordis Sancti Draconis is an Ordis as the original Military Order was the order of the holy dragons back in the good old days of the roman empire. So I tend to use Order and Ordis interchangeable but technically it is always supposed to be Ordis type of Military Order.

The order is about two things.
  • Be polite if you don’t like someone ignore them.
  • The good of the Order is to be held higher than the good of the individual.

We are not a nation of individuals but a single Ordis with the purpose of seeking truth and helping those in need of our help. If you come seeking to damage or hurt the Ordis by asking for help we are not the priests giving the sermon but the guy in the Armoury who is making sure that the place does not get robbed in the middle of sermon, which might prevent someone finding enlightenment in a stupid comment or phrase said by someone thinking it is a safe place to hear the wisdom we have collected and had vetted by the priests who spend more time praying and thinking about things than worrying about how to stop evil that is not listening to reason.

There are plenty of orders who will promote those who lack depth perception here we only promote those who are an example to the rest of the order. Much like the bar you raise to the example you set then you have to live that example in all you do. That does not mean stiff necked sob, but if you see cargo fall out of ship and the person does not notice point it out to them, it might be fuel they
need to get to their destination.

Respect the uniform not the person. Your friends are not the rank they serve by your friends and you can laugh at the stupid things but for unknowns respect their face value not an assumption of what
they are worth based on the ship they fly, unless it is a ship with corpses hanging off it then vaporizing the grave site to cleanse it of evil is a good thing.

As to the good of the order coming first, well the order has goals and being a member means supporting those goals. That said we will look out for our members inner and outer because the more capable you are, the more effective we are. The higher you are in the leadership the more that is expected from you for less rewards. With power comes responsibility, if you are un-willing to shoulder this burden there is nothing wrong will staying in the lower ranks. Having higher rank in this order means you actively are making it a better place.

As to ranks the Order respects a international rank structure and as knights you have a grade of knight within the order and a military rank of Service that you hold an oath to.

So the ranks we respect are as follows:

L7 General
L6 Colonel
L5 Adjutant Commander
L4 Lieutenant Commander / Sargent Major
L3 Senior Warrant
L2 Junior Warrant
L1 Bachelor Officer
T3 Sargent
